Guys i am really confused as to how the character list works, or if there is a bug with it. Currently when you login there is your favorites (4) slots and a huge list of all your characters. When i click on realms to find a specific character nothing happens. Lets say i press on X server it doesnt take me to the realm list and the characters i have on that server, it just keeps that warband list. Is this a bug or an actual “addition” to the game. If i have to look manually for my character each time ( I have ALOT of characters) then thats really bad. Could somebody enlighten me on this, if its an actual bug or not.

It is working as intended. We may get some categories. A lot of feedback has been given about the long lists.

I imagine we’ll see addons appearing in the future, but as it stands you can just move over the character in the list, and you’ll get a tooltip, which shows you what realm they’re on etc.
it would be awesome if we could have two favourite lists or an option to add another tab so i can have a horde and alliance one! sucks logging my horde realm and having my alliance favs perma there!

No addons work on the character screen though. They don’t activate until we are in game.
I think Blizz will give us some options at some point in the future. Categories of some kind. I think even a drop down to distinguish realms would be helpful at this stage. We’ve had suggestions for various things on the forums.

This is as intended? I cant access characters on my servers though how is that intended. Why is it there if it doesnt work is what i am saying. If the list is the way i can access my character why is the button there? How do i choose a server to create a new character on? Its just weird.

Seems bugged…some realms auto-Warband display…others use the old system, which particularly on Realms I don’t visit much, is much easier to character navigate, even remembering that all my Postbox alts, begin with the letter ‘F’ (don’t judge).
Everyone who has ever been a part of any Blizzard beta knows exactly what Blizzard does with Feedback, no matter from how many people.

Well we will see, I believe some kind of sorting or categories will come with time.
It is working as intended, it is one big list. There are no realms. They are all there together.
Edit to add - if you hover your mouse over the character name it should show you what realm they are on.
They should make a sorting method then for either Horde/ Alliance
or levels. But i do think the latter would work better. But ill be honest i dont like this.Its just messy

That’s a bit unfair. They did postpone Shadowlands (?) but a while due to feedback.
The issue is they get that invested things by the time player feedback there’s no turning back.
The Warbands log in is a good idea but it’s a half finished idea.
Warbands is the next step in faction reconciliation, I don’t expect there being a distinction between factions by the time the “world soul saga” ends.

they should let us be able to choose the old Modell since this new one gives a headaches.

In case people have missed it, you can arrange the order of your characters as you see fit. So you can order them alphabetically, or per realm or per level, or per number of vowels in their name etc. It just requires a bit of “administrative” action on your part, which increases subexponentially with the number of characters you have.
For example, I have the 3 characters I use most and the bank mule (yes, it’s a Tauren) on the campfire, and then I have the rest sorted first per realm and then alphabetically per realm. It took me like 100 clicks, but I did it.

Main
Prof Army (alphabetical)
Rest of Paladins (alphabetical)
Other classes (alphabetical by class name)
Took some shifting the first time but after that they stay put.

Well she has a point, the filtering above to make the lists is not the same, old model i prefer. Like i guess the warband favorite list is a copy from Lost Ark character screen but less polished.

Its not trivial dude i cant find my characters. As i said i got alot of characters and if they are all put in a list i cant find them as easy.

As humans we resist change, always.
But I can understand some are finding it a mess. I’ve pretty much had my chars on Draenor for some time now so it’s always been a long list. The only thing the update did was mess up my system for order and I had to spend a bit of time putting them back where I wanted them.
I think some kind of categories will help most make more sense of it.
