I love W40k franchise… but maybe is too much warfarelike i guess. comin from flowers and peace to an eternal war priobbaly would be too much for the majority of the playerbase. Somethin mid-way?

A two decades old game for a 12+ years category, it delivered everything it promised
Mayhaps if everyone who clings to a memory and wears rose tinted nostaliga glass should just… move on?
Then maybe, just maybe - who knows? - could enjoy WoW what it Is and not longing for a Warcraft that WAS?
Naturally everyone is entiteled to have their own opinion and preferences, but on the same not, I am allowed too to voice mine and sugges:
Let it gooooo let it gooooo
Well I mean, if the storytelling had improved then I imagine most people would be fine with it.
I can hear you, but I won’t
Some look for trouble
While others don’t
There’s a thousand reasons
I should go about my day
And ignore your whispers
Which I wish would go away, oh, oh-oh
I started with WoW on Vanilla EU launch day and I remained a paying customer for the past 20 years who cancels his sub and resubs from time to time based on available free time.
I prefer Retail over Classic, since I enjoy the combat gameplay of Retail much more.
I planned to have WoW as my forever game. That’s just how much I loved it. But during the past years, I’ve started to develop more and more antipathy towards the game and towards the sheer ignorance of some developers.
The WoW community is heading in a very bad direction.
You can see it on this thread: It’s the same divisive patterns that we face in everyday social life. The WoW community is split into two parts. And the loudest people are not willing to compromise.
Devs should try to bring the community back together. Instead, they double down on their one-sided decisions.
WoW has become in-your-face feminine and soft. I can see that some parts of the community like that. I don’t. It is so obvious, unorganic, and forced, that my overall experience of the game suffers. Watching a Dragonflight cutscene is like watching a soap opera. There’s so much self-insertion of female writers who are obviously incapable of imagining other thinking patterns than their own - even for male characters.
I’m not one of those people who say “I don’t like it so you can’t have it”.
All I want is a fair 50:50 balance.
Keep the sugar and rainbows in the game for those who enjoy it. But please bring back some grit, war and masculinity for those who enjoy a truly diverse game world.
Imo the vibe of the game sucks
I don’t care about cute cats, lil dragons to babysit etc
I don’t care about npcs with traumas and depression
I don’t care about about the gender or the relationship status of npcs
I don’t care about peace and friendship
I don’t care about yet another girlboss moment
I don’t care about characters being always understanding and forgiving to the point of feeling like just reskins of anduin
I miss when wow wasn’t scared of showing conflict, use some “non polite” words and giving manly characters the spotlight.
bring back the “edgy” side of the game and factions
Also, rename it to Pizza Cutter
All edge and no point
Warcraft=Shopcraft
Arent you guys excited for new shop mounts coming in new expansion?
Legion was “Factions come together to fight a greater enemy” if you don’t remember it and the EXP was great .
Each exp we have different Lore/Theme/Content(Besides raids/dungeons/pvp season ofc), it has nothing to do with Horde vs Ally = Good or We are on friendly terms=Bad , it all depends only on 1 thing The story and DF Story had ofc friendly chatty character development(That’s the name for it in writing and nothing is wrong with it) But we also had Battles/Darker themes also in DF so no need to base it only because someone doesn’t love that the main enemy isn’t the horde or ally.
I am not against having Horde Vs Ally lore/content in game as i am a PvP player i would love it but then again i am not against developing new characters and building Lore and shifting the main plot , remind you in TBC it also wsn’t ally vs horde Wotlk it was also not Horde vs ally it had couple of ingame made cinematics/cutsence with fights between some characters , remind you in WOTLK we had only 1 cinematic of Undead(attacking horde and ally who fought together against the Lich king at the gate) that was the only somehow ally vs horde.
Stop listening to asmonbold because he shows only what fits him when he want it to fit him, him showing Garrosh fighting pandarens/ally had nothing to do with the lore because then again it was Horde and Ally vs garrosh new horde that was the theme of the entire EXP and also then we had Chatty/friendly cinematics.
You are 100% correct.
THIS!
Me2 brother, me2. The only edgy conflict we are going to get is the one between us for not accepting different opinions. I was disappointed with DF cinematic and completely lost my hope when I saw the WW one.
People think that peace between the H and the A is normal at this point, disregarding the genocides from the past. In real life, people hold hard grudges for years if you say something mean to them.
killing orcs is never boring .
Death to the Horde !
racism is also boring, yet here we are.
Death to the Horde!
Sometimes I do feel WoW is a bit boring. That’s the moment I usually cancel my sub and go play FF or GW2. Then when I again feel like it, I come back to WoW. Playing is not a duty, if you don’t like it have a break and come back later. Or don’t come back at all if that’s what you want. Just don’t expect the game to change just because you think it’s boring.
These same threads existed also during the “good old times” btw.
Edit: Oh sorry, forgot… FOR THE HOARD!
Blizzard use to set the standards and the story was the primary reason it became so popular. They lost their edge.
They lost themselves, in fact.
racism is also boring, yet here we are.
Hard disagree. The Elder Scrolls universe is so interesting especially BECAUSE of the racism tensions between the many different playable races. Especially Skyrim added onto that, the entire 2nd premise is a racism-fueled, civil war over political power.

Arent you guys excited for new shop mounts coming in new expansion?
Are you excited for yours in Classic?
alliance and horde are almost no more
So the Germans and the Americans… time change, only the sheep stay in the same place and eat the same grass.
yes. and this is why i advocate a refresh in factions.
ELVES!!! assemble.
These same threads existed also during the “good old times” btw.
I think there’s a difference.
In the “good old times” people were rooting for their faction and their race.
Like kids vying for their mothers attention, so would players vye for Blizzard’s attention.
Alliance needs to get a new city!
No, Horde needs to get more territory!
It’s definitely the Gnomes’ turn now!
Because you were perceiving the game through the lens of your faction and your race it was very easy to get emotionally invested in it. There was a duality to it in terms of story and content. What The Horde got would affect The Alliance, and what The Alliance got would affect The Horde.
We’ve seen that with everything from The Wrathgate, The Cataclysm and Garrosh, Siege of Orgrimmar, The Burning of Teldrassil, and so on.
People got into that stuff, because Blizzard wrote the story in such a way that it had consequences. Garrosh is a warmongering Warchief, and that means that Alliance have a lot of zones where they’re suffering loses and losing land. I play that as an Alliance player and I feel the injustice of the story because it affects my content experinece. I play it as a Horde player and it feels like a return to glory, because finally The Horde is on the move!
All of that and more, which has defined Warcraft even before WoW (people had the same race rivalries in the RTS games) is slowly starting to dissapear. It’s all just becoming one big mush. Everyone plays the same content, experiences the same story. None of it really has any consequence for the player, because no one is affected more or less by anything than anyone else is. All the characters get along, and the story just focuses on external threats again and again and again in lieu of anything internal – which was otherwise the hallmark of the franchise.
It used to be an Avengers Civil War type of game in each expansion, but now it’s Anvengers Endgame again and again and again.
Maybe Blizzard has an ace up their sleeve, I hope so, but right now they’re barreling down the path of the Marvel Universe with their approach to Warcraft.
And it’s not how it used to be in those “good old times”.
right now they’re barreling down the path of the Marvel Universe with their approach to Warcraft.
I would like to say I disagree. But I can’t.
And I really don’t like Marvel.
