Warcraft Direct Leaks

This isn’t a leak, it’s literally on the 11.0.7 PTR

why is it so hard to make WC4?

Gaming companies are overdoing it with remasters of old games.

Sure RTS genre isn´t that popular, but I’m sure most of us would play it for the story and cinematics.

The last game Blizzard made that was new IP came from WoW 2 failure…

But what storys would you want to tell with wc4?

After wc3 all of warcrafts story is telles in wow and to some extent in books.
Do you want them to just make the wow lore into a wc game or do you want them to spin a new tale for this game and if so why odesnt our wow char have witnessed these epic battles of armys then?

Short form, in addition to the not popular issue, almost nobody working at blizzard has any experience making RTS games. The entire RTS team was axed a few years ago, most now work for Riot or Dreamhaven.

Project Titan, which turned into Overwatch and you are obviously referencing, was never at any point designed as a successor nor replacement for WoW, it was always going to be a new IP… the issue they eventually had was that they had a million minigames and activities but no real core gameplay loop.

you do have a point there. does wc 1 and 2 relate to 3?

They could tell “an untold story” with the dark portal novel. i swear that novel has protential for an RTS/netflix anime.

Really hoping they will announce something regarding WC 3 Reforged.

They should apologise, and deliver what they have promised to its fans.

Also looking forward to seeing some sneak peak info regarding the Midnight.

They certainly could tell storys of other worlds like what was the army of light up to or storys from wods alternate timeline.

But i dont know if that is what the fan base would want.
I would think most would like to see azeroth and the main guys like jaina or thrall. Story of the hord and alliance.

But then we have the problem when did that happen?
In the past? Then most of the beloved characters would not exist and the horde would not be there too.
In the future? Then they would railroad themselfs into lore they then would need to put into wow.
Maybe alternate universe/timeline stuff but that is also a trope many people dislike

You just answered your own question there, remasters are a lot easier (And less costly) to make, and if it accidentally resuscitates the RTS genre, they can always make a totally new one from the ground up, but making a new game in an unpopular genre is silly.

I’m smelling some sort of app or game for mobile.
Both for Overwatch and for WOW.

I would cry laughing if they give us some pokemon go esc app where we can catch diffent mobs from wow.

And i would play the heck out of it

Battle pets GO. :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Remember this

Next expansion is called Midnight
Next expansion after that is called the Last Titan

What’s special about of all these expansions? They are following each other but all these 3 expansions have faster release rate as these expansions are finishing up the story of World of Warcraft.

Next expansion Midnight, we are getting soon info about when it will be released.

Yes but not battle pets.

I want to catch illidan and arthas :dracthyr_lulmao:

Thats true and it will be interesting to see if midnight stillt feels like a real expansion or.just like a big big patch

Maybe fix all the current bugs and class balancing issues? Ah wait, probably not gonna happen…

What do you mean by this, exactly?

These were sequels and continuations of one another. In WoW, the the kingdom of Stormwind and everything beneath Khaz’Modan is based on Warcraft 1, everything above it on Warcraft 2, and almost everything else on Warcraft 3. For example, Warcraft 2 has the Outland zones right but the landscaping is off due to it becoming Outland, and Warcraft 2 also has The Tomb of Sargeras. All games were instrumental in making WoW.

In terms of what’s canon, generally Warcraft 1’s Orc campaign and Warcraft 2’s Alliance campaign, followed by both Beyond the Dark Portal campaigns starting with Orc and ending with Human, is considered canon. Mostly - there have been small changes since.

I am personally very surprised they’re remastering Warcraft 2. By modern standards it is rather a poor game due to technology issues. It blew everything out of the water when it came out, but really…

The two factions are almost identical yet manage to be insanely imbalanced (Orc is by far the best due to Bloodlust) and the pathfinding is complete junk. There’s also a ton of jank and missing features. StarCraft was sooooo much better it’s not even on the same planet. It would need significant changes.

But it’s clearly happening, so I’ll wait and see. Maybe they’ve changed it a ton while keeping its dark atmosphere and it’s gonna be sick. I… am not too hopeful though. Past evidence has shown me that Blizzard’s stories now always have HR in the room, which Warcraft 2 definitely does not, and that their recent games have a soft look.

Warcraft 2 needs the Diablo 4 treatment in the graphics department. Otherwise it will fail.

Well… i am holding out hope that a surprise new class reveal will happen, but it’s unlikely.

I say new specs instead of a new class. And they spread it over the whole trilogy.

Some in the last patch of tww some in the middle of midnight and the the rest for last titan

I’ll throw in my predictions, since it’s always hilarious to see how wrong you were in retrospect.

Patch 11.1 preview for WoW.

Warcraft II remaster (with in-game items for pre-purchasing).

Preview for Warcraft Rumble’s next update.

Preview of Hearthstone’s next year of the x (I’m guessing lion!) and the content roll-out that will entail.

Warcraft III Reforged patch 2.0 preview.

A video going over the history of Warcraft and interviewing developers and showing old footage and so forth.

That’s about it. It’ll take an hour-ish I think.
