I Donât care for Shadowmourne or Thunderfurry personnaly. Although one could say they werenât weapons of such significant lore character. I would more compare it to like if blizzard made frostmourne a sword drop from ICC and later decided to make it DK specific.

Does it matter? You know how warglaives became obtainable? You went in and killed Illidan and stole them from him. So why would they be DH-specific?

Because they decided to make warglaive a weapon type afterward which only dh know how to wield, so technically you shouldnât be able to use them at all but blizz decided on a compromise.
Shadowmourne is Arthas weapon ? You need a lore check.
But the weapons we are on about are swords not glaives .

OK. Then make DHs unable to transmog Thunderfury and any other weapon type.
DHs specialized in warglaives, so it makes no sense that theyâd be as proficient with other weapon types.
