you can choose the real havoc though?
I love everything you said.
It fits the theme of us summoning demons to do our bidding and then disposing of them. Very warlock and adds utility to the group.
This would help our mobility issues in a great way.
Someone else suggested it would be to the underbelly of the city which I think is a great idea. Look at every Warlock in WoWâs history can open demonic portals to anywhere and weâre stuck with conventional means. I must stress this should be baseline not a talent point.
I think itâs time we had a raid/party buff like Dark Intent. 2-3% haste buff for the party.
Ok so mostly demonology focusing wish list
1: would love an alternative to demonic tyrant on the talents, where i have the choice between him OR a spell that makes ME the demon overlord and provides buff to me and my minions
2: i would love one side of the talent tree to be dedicated to shadow damage and have talents that make succubus a alternative pet for demo. Pleasure though pain was a great concept pvp talent but it never worked because it had no supporting talents and was crippled by the heavy fel guard reliance of the talent tree.
It would be pretty nice if the one side of talents focused on big pets (extra fel guard, more minion damage) the other focused on shadow damage and the middle ones worked with both (and had tyrant).
When i signed up to be a demo lock i expected to be more than just a felguard tamer, i also cant for the life of me understand why demonic strength talent only effects one demon
3: ether remove mana altogether or make it meaningful to my class, since life tap was removed mana has literally zero meaning other than when im swapping spec, its actually a challenge to make your mana bar drop faster than it regenerates so why do i even have it. It doesnât effect game play
I think this is the Meta that would please people. I think itâs a good suggestion. But DHâs exist, but that is not a good excuse. Shamanâs have ascendance and Druids have Boomkin.
I dont think blizzard can argue this anymore, we got a âdemonformâ in the new hybrid talents where we grew wings and horns for a short while (why its on affliction and destro not demonology ill never understand xD)
From a game play perspective i feel tyrant was a mistake, hes bounced between being most of demos damage and everything else felt useless or being weak and pathetic himself but becoming a buff that just so happens to have a character model.
Tyrant will never feel as good as infernal does for destro, he suffers from the issue that he just doesnât stand out that much nor can be be balanced to feel good on the kit.
Legion demo had problems but one mistake i feel blizzard made moving forward to bfa was dropping the artifact spell and not using it as the new demonology soul fire, that spell not only felt warlocky but it provided a real sense of pay off for good execution of rotation with a nice mini nuke. Tyrant just aint it in my opinion, i feel blizzard just dont want to ditch the model despite knowing his a dead horse of a idea
Just throwing ideas out there but maybe make Malefic Rapture like Living Bomb for mages and bring back Malefic Grasp.
I know, I know! They couldnât balance Living Bomb properly but maybe if they did that might make people happy who donât like MP as it is.
I have now given up asking for anything, even if it were just a small aesthetic banality. Weâve been going around for a decade with spells clearly cut in half (Demonbolt), with aesthetically hated spells (Shadowbolt) and every patch you see that they modify the spells of other classes and we still carry on with the imp firebolts the same as vanilla and the green soulfire with three tennis balls. The most absurd thing is that some of these spells could be changed in half a second as they are already present in the game, and yetâŚ
Imagine asking for even a minimal improvement or tuning to a single spell
Xanatas!!! Where have you been?
You are right. I understand it is not an easy job with how the game was set up and built upon. But invest time in what you already have. Improve the visuals and graphics.
It frustrates me as they come up with new visuals and models for each expansion and patch but for things that will be around forever like classesâŚupdates on a rare occasion.
HI! Unfortunately, after years of often banal dreams and requests, I find myself feeling like itâs a waste of time. I honestly donât understand why developers always tend to do the opposite of common sense or the requests of the player base.
Iâm not saying they have to do it to the letter. But not even doing things, for months and months if not years, that go against what the players kindly ask for. Only to then retrace their steps and understand that the solution was the one we had already indicated months and months before. They would save time and money, and we would be happier
they also revamped in 11.1 the shadowbolt of the magus, dk unholyâs pet, and already this animation is hundreds of times better than our shadowboltâŚ
Yeah. I noticed that change.
My biggest gripe has been DRifts. We have our demon portals and similar ones in game and weâre still using legion graphics! #bringbackflamerift
Iâve been thinking about it and Iâm increasingly eager to see Burning Rush removed and replaced with the same ability that Paladins and Death Knights get in order to summon a steed to ride atop of to give them a movement boost/gap closer.
It fits thematically. Thereâs entire quest chains in the game for a Warlock to acquire a conjured fel-tainted horse and Burning Rush is, honestly, a terribly frustrating and clunky ability.
Warlocks dealing damage to themselves is an outdated game design choice. If hunters had to manage their arrows by keeping track of how many they had in their quiver, Iâd be more inclined to keep it around for flavour.
Yet we are the only class that is heavily stifled by outdated ânegative flavourâ.
I will probably list up things that already got said:
In general:
-make other warlock pets viable aswell i dont want to play felhunter 24/7 and in rare cases get imp to dispel something and then get straight back to felhunter
-i want a spec to be able to have doomguard constantly
-Give warlock a party buff to feel needed in m+
-warlock has many spells that just rot away in the spellbook because there is either no use for them in raid m+ or pvp. I dont want them to get removed but make an impact. For example: Ritual of Doom, all curses get used like never(maybe get back the classic curses to make the enemy take more dmg against specific elements), eye of kilrogg, unending breath, lifeline, drain life
-get warlock the skill to summon the portstone solo and port people solo
-reduce summon pet time
-make circle and gate baseline
-make mortal coil deal dmg
Classtalenttree:
-Make keystone talents feel strong
-remove soulcondouit
-make pact of gluttony baseline (this is insanely ridiculous that this has to be a
talent)
-put soulburn higher in the tree
-Remove gate and circle to be baseline
-Change out socrethars guile and sargerei technique those points just feel like there where no other ideas. Just buff the spells and get rid of this talents.
-Almost every talent at the left and right outer sides isnt used except the talent for dark pact
-Make shadowflame deal aoe dmg
-Make shadowfury instant
Destrotalenttree:
-In general im fine with the tree but the trio of pyrogenics rain of fire and cataclysm/inferno annoys me, make cata baseline
-add a talentnode in the center of the destrotree that lets the destro freecast for a specific amount of time or spellcasts
Afflitalenttree:
-Cant get to much into detail here since i dont known affli talents well enough
-Dont make Siphon Life passive make it the usable spell again
-Remove malefic rupture
-Get back aoe seed
Demotalenttree:
-Cant say anything about demo either, never really got my attention since it lost meta
How the specs feel to play:
Destro:
-To stationary
-Aoe rotation needs a rework, spaming rain of fire for seasons is getting boring af
-I want hellfire back
-Chaosbolt our big spender hits like a wet noodle compared to other classes or spells from warlock
-Visually looks insane
-The different ways to change your playstyle with the talenttree is nice
-I want a offensive cd instead of infernal why did you remove the other cd
-I think the state of affli and destro should be changed
-Let destro be more cd heavy
-Let affli be more rounded with its dmg out of cds
Affli:
-Affli feels ignored because noone plays it and noone plays it because it gets ignored
-Either you blast hard aoe (if pull is big enough) and your single target sucks or other way around
-Way to reliant on cds for dmg, out of cds you do nothing
-vile taint has to much cd so you have to reapply agony on to many mobs in a big pull
-I think the state of affli and destro should be changed
-Let destro be more cd heavy
-Let affli be more rounded with its dmg out of cds
Demo:
-Demo is like the most controversial spec i feel either you like it or you hate it
-I cant stand that blizz removed meta and made demo a demon summoner
-To make a huge burst with tyrant all stars have to aline
-implosion is nice
-would like bilescourge bombers to be baseline
-Bring back pitlord if this should be a summoner spec
-Let demo enslave legion demons to have unique spells like with hunter pets
Other thoughts:
my biggest wish right now is that warlock is able to tank i dont know how you will do that, either make demo a tank spec or make a new 4th spec
-Maybe a pettank spec
-Maybe a tankspec where the warlock increases his tankyness by making the enemy suffer
-i want to have a cloth tank for ages maybe you got some wisdom from the seasons of discovery on how to make a warlock tank happen
In the lifetime of wow warlock had many op spells that all felt great but got removed instead of adjusting the warlock dmg itself.
In my opinion i rather have all my specs in B Tier dmg wise but be useful by utility and have a fun rotation
blizz probably wont change anything but its worth the try
warlocks got ignored for way to long
the good old days of mop warlock will stay in the past
Iâm a simple warlock, it would be enough for them to change the low res graphics from 15 years ago of several spells. Itâs enough for me that they changed the sound effects of the agony (a toy gun?) and shadowburn (when you accidentally step on a dogâs paw).
It would also be âenoughâ for me if certain spells from 2004 were to be modernized a bit, having the curse of weakness which in 2025 reduces the speed between white melee attacks by 20% is a bit funny
We have a class that needs modernising. We need movement. Our tankiness has gone.
They need to move away from the âTalent xx increases the damage of xx by %â and have talents interact with others that increases the damage. Two many pointless nodes where it just increases the damage output. Lazy design.
I love playing Aff. It was my least favourite spec, but itâs like they were going for it and then stopped halfway.
Is it alright to add that Warlocks need to use their own âCombat Readyâ stance, instead of the Magesâ stance, to the wishlist?
Of course!!! Why we donât have it is crazy. Considering weâre one of the original playable classes in Wow and they love Gulâdan, weâre just an after thought.
- No demon customisations
- Class tree in need of a rework
- Affliction still being outdated
Ion just doesnât want us to play warlock.
instant shadow fury
Lower gate CD
Yes! Simple Quality of Life changes. The cd for gate is ridiculous considering itâs meant to be a movement spell.
Many of the warlock challenges are associated with PVP and especially arena. Due to the âprofileâ of the class I understand that we are not meant to be running around the battlefield similar to e.g. mages but to teleport and use the gateway. We are still getting trained and movement cooldowns burn down fast in such situations. How to balance? Simple suggestions to conservatively improve the situation:
-
Make Shadowfury instant cast and lower cooldown to 30 seconds.
-
Give Mortail Coil 2 charges with slightly lowered cooldown.
-
Make Gateway cooldown 30 seconds to be reuseable for warlocks only with the Gateway mastery pvp talent.
-
Make Impish instinctâs to lower the cooldown of Demonic Circle: Teleport by 5 seconds instead of the current 3.
