Warlocks , where are you ? What happened ?

Hey guys , i just want to know what happened to Warlocks. I never see anyone playing that class anymore. This is absolutely no exaggeration. Every legacy pug i make , not a single Warlock ever. I see maybe one running around Boralus a week.

I tank low lvl dungeons , on three tanks atm. Again no locks. I pointed this out to a friend of mine of discord. We ran 15 dungeons yesterday , yep you guess it. No locks.

I remember in tbc all the way through WoD. Locks were common and popular and since WoD they just seem to be in a decline all around. I check wow census and nearly every EU realm. Warlocks are at the bottom with less 8% of total classes. Even Less percentage if you look at 120’s only. I watch Twitch regularly again , no one is streaming as a lock main. Warlocks just seem to relegated to an alt for most.

What happened ? Are they that terrible to play ? The warlocks i have seen at 120 output some good dps. So it’s not just a case of " they just suck this expansion".

Tell me guys , what is it about the Warlock class that turns you off. Why is there 6 times more mages per realm than locks . What makes them " not fun" ?

I feel like they are a dying breed . We need to save them. Otherwise they will go the same way as the Panda. They are one of the original classes in the game , they have lore and history in the world.

Check 120 my man they get a fair amount of play there.

Although the class as a whole is up and down and needs work.

As for pandas males just don’t look all that great in a lot of sets whilst the females look okay they’re not a popular option still.

our lore in bfa is doom being a talent and apparently a master summoner spec being unable to freely summon doomguards or infernals instead they focus on summoning imps
hellfire still isn’t back either and even if it was back they’d just make it a destro only talent until they see the vocal mentally ill US forums whining that “OH MY GOD IT DOES DAMAGE TO ME SO IT SUCKS WHY DOES THIS SPELL EXIST” and remove it once again

Got tired of being a target dummy in war mode so I rolled off of my lock. Who knows maybe I’ll get back on him someday.

Are you an alt or a main though ? i ask because it’s all fair and well saying hey i got a lock but if it’s just an unplayed alt kinda proves my point.

I dont play my warlock anymore because they have ruined every Warlock spec.

Sad cuz it was my main from vanilla and now i cant regonize my class anymore. Or any other spec/class …

I’m playing this more than my 120 hunter “main” atm once this hits 120 I’ll switch between the two because I love both of them, so you could say it’s a joint main.

warlocks took a blow outside of raiding because in lower m+ keys they tend to look weak because they cant keep up dps wise outside of boss fights because the mobs would die before they could get their damage rolling.

This have changed now that demo locks have become the meta specc for m+ and in this raid tier cleave speccs are doing great so many people are rerolling destro and because they are very strong in PvP again since the last buffs they recived.

You’ll start seeing more warlocks soon.

I also have a Nightborne Warlock in the works, 59 at the moment.

Rarely playing my warlock because they ruined and pruned all specs. Only demo a bit interesting for me.

Removed or made talents so many abilities: portal, coil, shield, curses, soul swap … shadow bolt now just stupid filler, that don’t generate souls … destro is a stupid chaos bolt bot now … etc.etc.etc.

Worst iteration of warlock class for me. :disappointed_relieved:

Warlocks are still strong, but since you play alliance, chances are you’re not in a competitive raid environment because most competitive raiders are horde.
Especially with the azerite grind nowadays those people stick to one faction.

If you look at warcraftlogs, the strongest DPS out there for BoD right now are shadow priests, demo locks, affli locks, ele shamans and destro locks.
Locks are insane in raids.

There’s a general decline in the population since all of the negativity surrounding the company and that’s mostly part of the reason you don’t see many people in-game. I myself mained an undead warlock in previous expacs. I haven’t bothered to level him simply cause I find this expansion extremely boring.

We have 7 warlocks in our guild 3 of them are on the main mythic roster and we still have warlocks applying , its full of em dude :stuck_out_tongue:

They are strong in raids, most teams want them.

I have a warlock at 120 but i can’t get myself to play him that much :tired_face:
I really like demonology but i really hate the playstyle where you have to stand still to do stuff, gets me almost killed all the time :expressionless:

But i’m a total noob at it too so that might be a factor lol, i have gotten him up to ilvl 366 but i just don’t feel very motivated to gear him.
