Can anyone give me some advice on what I can do to kill a hunter at low level?
I’ve just been ganked over and over by a hunter 3 levels higher and I couldn’t do anything to stop him, his wing clip slowed me for 50% and my hamstring him for 40% so even when I got the charge off I still lost him and was killed. Without the charge it was no chance.
I’m sure when I get intercept it will be better, but is there anything I could do now or, without extra gadgets or consumables, or is it essentially a hard counter until I get more of my toolkit?
I also have a low lvl hunter and when I was dueling my friends, I realized I don´t even have to run and kite. With a decent two hand, you can destroy melees with raptor strike lol…
Hamstring, hamstring, hamstring, hamstring. That’s your best bet. If you can’t open just back up wait for combat to reset and CHARRRGGGEEEEE!!!1!!!ONE!!1! Odds are not in your favor but you can invest in some gear and enchants. Most people that level do not bother and don’t even look at what they jump in the open world. Potions, First Aid and so on. As soon as the hunter is OOM you are good.
You still have to survive the pet and constant damage before Wingclip wears off and even then you have to make sure you have enough health left to survive the Raptor Strikes.
Best bet against a huntard at low levels is to just make it as annoying as possible for him, you won’t win but maybe you could kill the pet or make it aggro a bunch of mobs before he inevitably kills you.
I know why I decided to create this toon on a pve realm
Even at level 60 with BiS items you will have problems vs hunters. They just need to get out of your charge range and kite you like a npc which isnt hard with 30% extra move speed and ice trap. No chance without gadgets and faps but if the hunter also uses them its like before.
Hunters can also very early (5/5 @lvl 19) talent the 20% chance to snare for 5 seconds with every wing clip and talent deterrence (25% avoidance + 25% parry) at level 20 then.
But most hunters are instantly going into that dumb BM spec which only increases unneccessary pet survivability the first levels so you are lucky with that.
If the terrain suits try and get out of line of sight so that he can’t shoot, kill his pet and keep out of LOS then he has to come to you, won’t always work but worth a go. Goodluck if the hunters BM though
