Warrior vs hunter

I want a dwarf but not sure to roll hunter or warrior.
Is warrior really that bad in solo play? Or is hunter just too good to pass up as a questing machine.

If you want to level solo by questing and quit at 60 then hunter. (Or just solo farm like a bot)

Otherwise warrior has much more to offer and in demand.

Hunter is vastly superior leveler on solo questing but tanks are always in demand for dungeons during leveling.

Pvp it is bit tough choise. On 1v1 many other clases simply mow down hunters by using dead zone and killing/disabling pet.
On low gear hunter is good but when people start to get gear, warrior becomes better.

warrior has much more to offer for endgame content: dungeons, raids, group pvp, gameplay, scaling…

for 1v1 hunter is usually better yes, but wow classic isn’t about 1v1, it’s about groups, and warriors really shine there

Working on a warrior, have levelled a hunter to level 20. All I can say is, for solo play, 300% the hunter. Endgame, warrior, as they are probably the most desired raid dps class and the most wanted tank, though I doubt you’ll get benched as hunter DPS for raids. Hunters are probably more desired than dps warrior for endgame dungeons because of the CC and ability to kite and warriors do like a tasty windfury totem, which isn’t guaranteed in dungeon groups.

Heh. Nope.
Sadly there is no longer need for kite and cc. Just replace with dps warrior and cleave all down. (sadly)

And pet AI is very very bad. Most hunters forget to control pet/dismiss at certain points which cause problems.

I’m not a Zerg lover, but yeah, dungeons are relatively undertuned as we’re running with late Vanilla stats/traits, so I can see where that would happen…

On pservers hunters were kinda neat for that…in classic dungeons are so faceroll than you go full warriors + mages + priest/pally/shaman and you just go ham.

Hunters are best

Are you okay with creating your own groups? Then hunter
Or do you want to be that guy who just gets invited to everything? Then warrior

Depends on your playstyle. Hunter is a very flavorful class and great for soloing, I can’t really get into it though for some reason.

Here is my super noob perspective on the warrior: My warrior is level 16 currently, and I’m LOVING the playstyle. Every little bit of gear matters, every single auto attack has impact. It’s a methodical class that needs tactical thinking as well as a cool head to play. I’m a druid at heart, but warrior truly feels like a master class with its high risk high reward play.

I haven’t even done a dungeon yet on him, but I’m finding him to be quite consistent in solo play, provided you don’t bite off more than you can chew. I can solo mobs 2 levels higher, or 2 same level mobs, without too many problems - though can be a close fight.

If you go warrior, I think you should level professions to support it. Cooking gives good buffs, and you can benefit a lot from alchemy or engineering. The potions are always helpful, and stuff like grenades and even crafted guns can make a big difference.
