Earlier the direction of the game, the constant cash shop additions made me sad, some because I’d never be able to buy the new mounts myself being a piss poor student, and some because I don’t think microtransactions belong in games that require an active subscription to play.
Now, with the release of “Hogrus, Swine of Good Fortune”, I’m actually feeling more mad than anything. It feels like you’re actively making the game less fun to play, with that I mean; is it fun to run around speaking to elders and collecting their coins? Not particularly, especially after doing it for 10 years. What if you threw in an awesome-looking mount as a reward, would it feel better doing it now? Sure!
… Yet here we are, 6 weeks after the last mount being added to the cash shop we see another one, which would’ve fit perfectly to your game already as a Lunar Festival event reward, be added to the store.
cash shop mount is same as any expensive mount that requires a lot of gold.
you buy them both with a lot of gold, and you can buy both of them with a lot of real money.
but yeah, I agree that activision making itself a ridable mount is a bit too much
@Bukachu, Yes I know perfectly well that I can spend gold (also 2 months worth of gametime) on the new mounts they release. What I’m mad about is the fact they don’t make the game we’re already paying for more lucrative/appealing by - for example - making the in-game events more fun by adding mounts to them. Especially with how the state of the game currently is.
Sigh…this is a bit blunt but other people arent students and do have money to spend so just deal with it. Theres plenty mounts ingame to get
@Tifa, so what you’re saying is that because you have money irl, you would rather have easy-to-obtain mounts via the cash shop rather than have them be rewards for doing in-game events?
If that was true, no one would ever buy cash shop items.
Not being able to afford something is what you need to come to terms with, once you do, you will start having fun playing the game again.
Theres already plenty ingame as i said so i dont mind there being some easy access ones no
Well i do agree with our vertically challenged friend that more new unique mounts in game would be very nice indeed, why can’t we have both?
@Canabal, My personal opinion doesn’t determine what people will and won’t do. Using your example in a different manner; I don’t think walmart should sell weapons. Now you can say: “If that was true no one would ever buy weapons at walmart.” But they do, and it doesn’t change my opinion ever so slightly.
Now for your second comment, I repeat what I said above: Would you rather have easy-to-obtain mounts via the cash shop rather than have them be rewards for actually doing in-game events?
(edit: a word)
If this is so important to you that you get mad and cry to us about it, then I for one won’t be shedding any tears for you. I mean, listen to yourself.
If you can’t find something actually important to get mad about then I agree, you are sad. Very, very sad.
game’s supposed to be aimed at everyone, not elited few of the royal blood
You need to let go. This isn’t the game it was. Dedication is not rewarded anymore, you just need a good bank account and there you go.
You might want to explore some other games. I know it’s hard to let go, but this isn’t the same world of Warcraft as some of us are used to.
Let it goooo let it gooooo
You can buy it with gold also nothing royal about it. Cant think of any mmorpg who dont try to make some extra money.
I couldnt buy the mounts when i was younger and i didnt make a topic crying about it everytime. Instead i asked for wow gift cards for my birthday or christmas
Then that is conjecture, your opinion isn’t based on anything.
Would I rather have a pair of Air Jordan’s for free or would I rather pay for them.
The more appropriate question is, would I pay for them if they weren’t free?
Blizzard and Nike says yes I would and I agree with them.
@Tifa, Fair enough! I’m glad you’re happy with how the new mount is obtained even though I’m not.
For your second comment, when I was younger there weren’t any mounts to be bought for real money
For real though, this is the first time I post on the forums since the garrison situation in WoD, I hope I don’t come across as “crying” as some of you mention. I just wanted to express my concerns with adding mounts to the store instead of in-game events, which - in my opinion - the game needs.
@Lanie, Hey there! I very rarely post on the forums, but I felt like I had to post my opinion on the matter, as I deeply care for the game I’ve played since I was 10 years old. I hope you’re having a great day!
There is already plenty of topics on it though
I cant wait to see the mount they will release for year of the cat either ^^
I totally get what you are saying but do you REALLY want that pig mount? And would you use half the things you could buy? Cos I don’t. I don’t use 99% of my mounts and pets anyway!
Why didn’t you feel like voicing your opinion in one of the other threads discussing the subject? Or is your opinion so important it needs its own thread? You know what else is annoying? The same topics spamming up the front page.
You can buy the mount with in-game gold, you don’t need to use cash. So your complaint about being poor holds no water, anyway.
Add to that it isn’t even really meant for us, it’s for the Chinese, and the fact that Blizzard is a business specifically there to make money, and your whine is ludicrous at best.
I bought the cindermane horse a while back and its one of my favs. The rest of them (the little dog and feydragon) i dont use often but thought they were cute…same with the battlepets ive bought.
The windrider cub i bought for the plushie
