Way of the crane is now a PvE joke

Sup friends,

I don’t know if it’s just me, but even with 14% versa and 420 ilvl, I’m not able to heal single target damage with crane as I used to.

Blizzard didn’t say anything about the stelathnerf, but I assume that they did so because of the Conflict and Strife essence, that makes way of the crane a PvE ability, and no longer viable in PvP, I rather spend 12.5 or 25% mana spamming vivify or EvM, than healing -1 and getting dunked.

Any other player is feeling that too?

The fact that they nerfed crane (a PVP talent) because it’s now usable in pve is just so stupid and pathetic

They did the same to the healing and atonement uptime of Premonition for disc priests, though it doesn’t matter as much in PvP.

It did for disc in rated bg’s.

Im not a pvp player but i did try it this season and had it used last season as well.
Dont know if theres another way to get out of a root+sunbeam but it seems that its use its only this now.

Tried Crane on a dummy, with 425 gear and around 19% vers the highest number i got from it was 75k heal, in PVE. Now remove the crit efficiency in pvp (if it counts) and add defensives to the target + armor. There you go, heals almost for nothing.

Edit:
19% vers is my normal vers, in that test i had secret infusion trait that gives the vers BEFORE the damage applied.

Yeah but they dont cost 25000 mana :joy:

I dont know but i cant use lasso in eternal palace as ele with this essence.

It sounds funny, they made a PVP talent useless for pvp but great for pve :slightly_smiling_face:

And now conflict is useless for pvp with this sur crane :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Guys I’ll tell you the secret. Game Director - Ion Hazzikostas plays WoW himself and he is quite hardocore raider however on the other hand he has 5th honor level. It means that the only PvP he did were few Legion PvP world quests and probably only when they gave artifact power. He creates game for himself. He literally didn’t touch any PvP in last two expansions. I’d love to see him trying this “amazing piece of content” his team created. He would for sure enjoy it.

Crane stealthnerf is biggest joke in 8.2. on the other hand what can u expect of a game designer who only plays casual pve ???

Anyway would be Nice to know how much it has been nerfed and why?

He’s not a hardcore raider. He’s pretty bad at pve too. Just check his logs, he takes damage from everything and nerfs the bosses abilities from which he dies

Healing reduced by overall 40% and no longer works with magic damage

WotC stealth nerf is the final straw for me in this sh*ty xpac.
Game time expires soon.

@Hafthor - Source?

Good morning. It has been nerfed to the actually intended healing value.

Let’s have a look at this forum thread: 8.2 PTR Mistweaver Way of the Crane different values

Lets say Rising Sun Kick does 25000 damage with Way of the Crane on both Live and PTR.
On Live, the healing from the damage you do with Way of the Crane works like this:
Using Rising Sun Kick the healing is:
25000 + 150% of the damage = the healing from that ability, so in this case it would be 25000 + 37500 = 62500 <- this is the healing that would come out from using Rising Sun Kick on LIVE with Way of the Crane.

Now, maybe my math is wrong, but if it was actually how the ability worked, then it healed for 250% of damage done (author adds 150% damage to already baseline 25k). 150% and 250% of damage going into healing seems like… just a bit different numbers, don’t you think?

That being said, kinda understandable why the change occured, but scummy since I couldn’t find anything about the numbers, nor magic damage ignore in patch notes

Nah its not great considering how much it costs and that how many other abilities you can use instead of that. But its another strong CD, some go for this i think i wont go for it because 12.5k/25k mana.

For raid probably it’s bad because it only heals 3 people and you will run out of mana soon, but for m+ it’s actually great, mana cost is irrelevant you can drink between every pull. I used it in a +10 and in aoe pulls I could keep everyone up by just spamming spinning crane kick

Well several people use it on top tier logs not because its healing much per mana spent, but just because its another healing cd.

Personally yeah, i might consider it in m+ maybe in a premade that dos not take avoidable damage but dont think so inside raids… 2x EF with upwelling talent easy output alot more + cost less according to logs i read. It is useful though when your raid needs another extra healing CD, fortunately mine does not so far xD
