Love it! Proper taking the Night Elves back to their roots! I'd always had trouble taking Malfurion seriously because of his previous depictions, but this did him justice, this is what the Night Elves -should- be, Nature, Red in Tooth and Claw. I've already gotten one character to 120, my Draenei, so I can unlock Dark Irons, and obviously I need to work on Brigs here, but I think my Kaldorei Druid is next up.
Really nicely portrayed, and Tyrande's kind of look of "Your move, A-Hole" at the end is pretty sweet.
I always said, amidst the "Blizz hates Night Elves!" threads, that this was what they needed to take them back to what they were, that we didn't know the full story yet, and we would see them go back to being the ghosts in the forest, who killed with a mix of finesse and savagery, and people were like "No, Blizz hates Night Elves!"
I hate to be that guy who says "I told you so" But....
I told you so.
Awesome video...

Night elf players are so used to content that they're not satisfied with that they've developed something of a victim complex.
I'm glad that this trailer was able to slap them out of that and get them to realize that Darkshore is a gift to them, that Blizzard could have just left night elves to rot after the Burning of Teldrassil.
Having watched the cinematic again, it just occured to me … "why, can't Night Elf druids look like the starry/white owls as in the cinematics when they change to flight form?"
It would make so much more sense to look like that (bearing in mind they have sentinel owls as companions already), instead of a crow. It always bugged me, even moreso nowadays, with Khadgar bragging about raven form and all.
Give the Night Elves this flight form Blizzard. Come on!

Also, it will be nice, if dark eyes will be separated form dark skin color. Because currently if you choose dark eyes then dark skin comes also...

I am glad that you are right. I was waiting for single interview from Blizzard, a single word about Night Elves almost for half of year.
And I got it from Ion Hazzikostas on Blizzcon, and it was epic! )
And this is what Brigante and some few others have been trying to tell the night elf players, but no no no.
They clearly hate you all.
Also let me correct Ion.
the Horde is not afraid of Night elves.
But we are freaking terrified of Malfurion Stormrage.
he return us to the Earth literally!

Unrelated, but it was heartwarming how Nathanos declared they would hold the land for the Horde. Not the Forsaken. Not Sylvanas. But the Horde.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but i like the guy.
Regarding the cinematic, i think its the first time i see Malfurion acting that way. And it was awesome.
Not really a fan of the Night Warrior thing tho. I think it would've been cooler for Tyrande to mount their offensive being her regular self.
PS: I do wonder if they will have something similar for Forsaken players. I mean, their current situation is pretty similar to the Night elves (and things seem bad for their leader).

Nathanos is great.
He is a perfectionist more or less.
cunning and effective at his work.
And despite what some claim he does not simply follow Sylvanas blindly.
Two times so far she has made him question her for a few seconds.
heck the first time he even argued against her.

You can "I told you so" all you want but it's unwarranted. Nothing has changed yet. The Night Elves are locked in a warfront. Indefinitely. Great, stagnation.
This cinematic comes across as damage control. When something really changes for the better and picks up from there you can come in with your "I told you so" :)

Do you know thats just a gameplay element, and probably after Bfa, we will get to know who won which warfront?

If this is just a damage control, then i dont know what would be a "changes for the better" for you. They can't swarm the Barrens and kill every Horde there for example.

Night Elves have gone from being a non-factor after the Burning of Teldrassil when their home was wiped out, without a sign of them anywhere in the world, to savagely retaking part of the region that they were pushed out of by the Horde. They've destroyed an important asset that belongs to Sylvanas and they're pushing back the full might of the Horde on their own, without any outside aid. They've even gone as far as demanding the blessing of a goddess, not just asking for it, for the purpose of vengeance.
By all means, if you really think that nothing positive has come out of 8.1's depiction of Darkshore and that you'd rather go back to 8.0 and the Kaldorei's 'helpless refugee' status, be my guest. But if you want to face the truth, the fact that the Night Elves have regained any territory in Kalimdor at all, no matter how temporarily, is a change for the better as far as that race is concerned.

Yeah, I'm sure we will get an answer as to who won in some crappy book in TWO years time. Amazing. They might lose as well.

An ongoing story is what I call changes for the better. Not one single cinematic leading people to believe we finally got the Night Elves back to their original state and then..., nothing. With Blizzard's track record it would be wise for everyone to see what's going to happen next.
Well, they have earned their 5 minute spotlight, might as well let em have it, but eventually either Malfurion or Tyrande will need to die because of that, or a simple failure will do just fine. Since Saurfang didn't finish the job last time, someone else will have to now.
Besides, the night elves fighting in Darkshore makes little sense, there is nothing left for the there besides ashes of Teldrassil, nor do they need any resources being the all-nature and Elune suckers that they are, therefore it makes no difference if the Horde has occupied it.

The Night Elves have something called Druids, they also had something called Nordrassil which was destroyed and later on grew back.
They finally remembered Malfurion was Illidan's brother hehehe!
No seriously that cinematic was awesome. Can we pretend Val Sharah never happend and that Malfurion never existed?

I have to admit that line also made me like him, one of those few moments he actually was likeable. But he seriously needs to stop talking about "pleasing the Warchief" because that is still cringe and being Brownnoser to make me change my opinion of him.
But also I need to complain about that Troll guy - why is he wearing a shoes? Shoes are for the weak! But seriously after playing trolls for so many years seeing one in shoes feels unnatural.

Felt so forced and OOC it's not even funny imo.

And here lies the problem, after Tyrande "patience" the Malfurion's "Tyranda where are you?!" They need to do a lot to make them credible again. So far they failed, in game. In the book Elegy it was way better, and way different then what we experinced in the questline. Still not enough, but at least the characters were alive and had dignity.
This off game cinematics is by far not enough to get them back on track, and considering how PTR is depicting the whole night warrior questline I would say that Blizzard is trying very hard to keep NE irrelevant while tossing a bone at the players at the same time.
Things might change, but given their track records with NE and what we have seen so far I am not holding my breath...
Yay, some more words about Night Elves from Blizzcone:
This is an opportunity to dive deep into Night Elf culture and their champions. As seen in the Terror of Darkshore cinematic, they are feared by the Horde for a reason. They are in touch with nature—but don’t mess with them if you mess with their people or their homes. Exciting to see Tyrande move into a new chapter of her story as she moves into a new role as a Night Warrior. We’re building foundations for future stories.

Do people still not Understand that the Tyrande where are you?
Was just Xavius using Malfurion's voice?
You first heard him actually speak in the Dungeon where he does nothing but pester the Shade.

It's like people purposely ignore this fact or are just dumb. I mean, even if the quest isn't blatantly obvious about Malfurion being an illusion, the dungeon where he ridicules, taunts and teases Xavius while being his prisoner should be more than enough of a proof.
