"We disabled the name generator in EU to avoid inappropriate names"

N/A have there constitutional rights and ar15’s

Runk is a very good name! :sweat_drops: :lips:

Why the hell “modern western world” is getting itself rid of any forms of humour, critique and doubt? Are we preparing ourselves for WW3 soon? Im extremely worried.

I love it when Blizzard themselves do this.
I chuckle like a 5yo everytime I read the name Merda Stronghoof, which the Italian translators turned into Meren.

Or a name with ‘Merde’ in it - in French it means :poop:
Admittedly, i chuckle at some 'near the knuckle ’ player and guild names i see occasionally

I just think people should get over themselves and let it be. An obvious offensive name is reportable but cringe, “funny” or play on words should just be left alone and move on.

There is no way for you or I to do it either.

Dozens of normal Danish words are spelled the same way as offensive English ones. In Europe we simply have so many languages that it’s a pointless exercise, as you say. That’s also why the mature language filter is frustrating in Europe. It makes Danish unreadable at least.

So just include it. It doesn’t matter. We all know how it works.

It used to work that way.

Then the social media came with their virtuous Don Quixotes charging at windmills-giants with their lances.

This 100%. A very popular Norwegian name is a VERY bad albanian word.

WTB name race specific inbuilt name generator in EU.

After mythic level there is new hidden difficulty - “this name has been taken”

Can’t even say you’re out of mana in Swedish without the censorship kicking in.

oh no, now have to use a rng name gen of the internet instead to type in offensive names manually.
typical corporate save my butt technique to not get sued.
then again in europe you wont get sued for every junk like in the us

Seems like Wotlk EU will get a random name generator, but not Retail?
Seems legit. :upside_down_face:

Edit:
Pressed the ‘Randomize’ button for several minutes.
I only found one “sus” name

But this is in Wotlk PTR where nothing is certain

Isn’t the WotLK PTR based on the US servers?

That would explain it.
