I have a sneaking suspicion this thread is gonna get locked sooner or later, it’s starting to derail.

I’m glad you are having fun making gold and staying at the auction house looking for deals.
But that, I’m fairly certain to most people is boring as hell. I don’t play this game to make gold, gold shouldn’t be a necessity but come in as something secondary.
Secondly, I tried multiple times to make gold to get the token to renew my sub only to crazy about it because either I had to waste too much time looking for, and following gold making guides or trying to farm gold through old dungeons which, is the worst thing ever and at that point you arent even enjoying the game anymore. And when I say this I think I can rappresent the majority of the playerbase.

Im not touching the auction house, i got 12 alts that i use to get access to any profession with and i just make whats in high demand
Ok i’l give you a +1 on that, most dont play this game to farm gold, but then again you dont need the mount either though
I see alot of people with longboi because they had some ‘‘Spare cash’’ so i don’t think you represent most of the playerbase, dont think most are that broke that they can’t afford 220K gold a month, but ok
And if you want a tip, Do all emissaries, paragon chests can make up alot of gold over a not so long time, thats where most of my gold has come from this expansion, i got exalted on all 12 by doing emissaries & mass farmed em with daily emi
And if theres a 2K gold emi up, do it, regardless if you need the gold or not, ya never know for the future

Whenever I read someone writing “I made xx gold” ez. It feels like I’m reading one of those Bitcoin millionaire articles. It might have worked out for you, it might work for you, but not for the 99% of the other players.

I was quite active at the forum back then and I remember it differently. Very few posts about being happy for their class mount and a ton of jealosy and even open hate. Examples:
Mages got the most hate of all, as I remember it, just a plain disc. Priests for a mount with no connection to the lore and annoying spell effects. Monks and demon hunters for getting only one mount. Shamans for stupid pose and not a colour matching their spec. Hunters for a piece of the armour clipping. Etc etc.

You pay for the 6 month sub. Do the math, the mount isn’t included in that price

They are doing it to bait people who usually get 1 month to get 6 month. They are doing this, because soon, after a while that 8.3 has been live there is going to be a major content drought up until Shadowlands. Which means no more new content, which means no one is going to resub. Unless, you baited those same players into subbing for the next 6 month.

Thats the point. At the moment, people are willing to play, because the content (8.3) is fresh and new, right? But after a couple of months when there’ll be nothing new do to, raid will have been out for a while already, do you really think people would want to resub? Unless as I said, they had bought the 6 month sub, in which case they’ll have still an active sub by then.

EP has been out for months and months and guilds are still progressing. Don’t worry. Nyalotha will last for guilds, theres also the new m+ seasons, new mounts, new pets, new achievs.
Just cause you don’t have any goals in this game doesn’t mean everyone is as negative as you to new content.

I play wow 24/7 because of my friends, i normally buy 1 month at a time in case they decide to quit
So far i’ve gotten 2 months for free lol
To be fair: how often do you read positive things in forums? When you go after this WoW has been sh*t from Classic till now.
Sure, not all mounts got the same amount of love put into them, but they were still pretty popular across all classes for a while.
And I’ve honestly seen more mages with the disc than shamans on the elemental because of mount size and camera setting.
