I wholeheartedly disagree with you here Dejarous.

You technically “can” pug the raid… but 3 things:

(A) At-least the vault is PL and a raid is an even worse way to gear up. Its RNG on top of RNG and the only way to reliably gear up with the raid is through repetition week after week.

(B) If I wanted to raid, I would be in a guild that raids. I find it absurd that I have to do something I don’t want to do, in order to play something I like to do.

(C) And finally… Pugging ? Really ! Heroic Raids are a clownfest as it is. Willingly going through that in Mythic is a form of masochism.

All in all, raiding to gear up for M+ is not a viable option. Some compromise has to be reached.

The current model is a bit off since they target people to just have a subs on …and that’s a huge fact .

Mythic+ players and i know guilds and specific teams that are focused only on m+ would never be able to complete with mythic raiders /Fact.

You will say is ok to have a mythic+ player at 630 …he may still compete . This is a whole different if you put the team .

A team of 636 ilvl (and bis mythic raiding with items ring-cloack-trinket-weapon =bonus effect ) Vs a 630 ilvl of mythic + player .

That’s how it goes right now .

The mythic + player are left behind on power lvl no only because of the item but because of the limitation that rng creates .

biggest issue is when you have multiple weeks of literally zero progress because you get overlaps and useless trinkets that are so bad its unreal they are in the game.

thats literally 1 entire week where you could just aswell have been afk. thats a bad feeling indeed.

Basically is 14 days without upgrade  ( at least for me )

basically yes. and thats a very toxic feeling in an mmo.

ATLEAST during the opening weeks of a season. i mean sure we will eventually all run into that issue when we approach max ilvl.

Yikes, that sounds like a problem in itself.

This. Its getting to the point where i open my vault, see crap and just log out, not feeling like playing at all anymore.

same. its a very bad vibe.

I’m not sure I understand where you come from. On the one hand, you’re calling people who engage in mythic raiding try hards and say that blizzards caters for the 1%, then you go ahead and appeal to the naturally competitive nature of mmos.

Which one is it?

Mythic raiding, the games hardest content by blizzard’s account, will always have better access to the highest form of reward.

In the current iteration of the game, where else could fit myth track gear in a fashion that seems fair? Delves +12? Keys +12?

Raid always takes priority because of the organisational requirements behind it. This game has been like that since vanilla.

Again, I agree that there needs to be more bad luck protection. The current rewards of the token guy just seem inadequate, especially if you’ve already put gem sockets on everything. Imo something similar to the awakened vendors could be a solution. Maybe every 12 or 18 of those tokens (so 2 or 3 weeks of bad luck), you get to actually buy a targeted piece of gear that’s an actual upgrade.

How about we do this: Mythic Raiders simply get their gear faster.

Everyone else gets the vault. With the following change: The 6 tokens you are ofered in case you dont want anything… those should be able to buy you an uprade to 1 peice of gear.

Such that if you have done 8 +10s and you qualify for 3 Myth track gear options, if NONE of those options are of your liking then the 6 tokens should buy you an upgrade of 1 piece of gear from Hero to Myth track.

That way everyone will gear up full mythic in 14 weeks (at 1 slot/week guaranteed) while Mythic raiders will have the same vault PLUS drops from the raid. So they will gear up earlyear than everyone else. A fair compensation for their troubles.

Blizzard is willing to change literally everything in the game but at the same time they have decades old obsession with RNG being the biggest factor in how loot distributed.

So while I personally like your idea, I don’t think they would ever do that. I would even be happy if they keep the RNG aspect of vault slots but they would drop a slot-specific token instead. If there is a non-bis ring or trinket in any of my vault slots that is straight up a dead slot. That way there would be less player stress and they would still kind of keep their precious RNG.
There needs to be something done about the vault since it is a huge upgrade now with Myth track being +13 ilvls to Hero track. Right now if you have to pick tokens from vault you are robbed of one Myth track item.

Your idea is once again, overall just a better solution.

i really like the idea of 1 upgrade token per week. but for some reason people dont like that idea.

Then “most players” are likely playing for the entirely wrong reasons, for the rewards, and not becasue they actually enjoy the game in and of itself. Loot was always a bonus in every RPG since D+D, but people somehow perverted it into the only thing that matters in teh last few years…

No wonder so many people act like this is their job and they´re not getting paid for it, because they have no real goals other than “get BiS ASAP and quit”. But if your only goal is to get BiS just so you can never use it, then why play at all?

IMO gear should just stop at heroic track, period. M+ and Myth raid cosmetics only, problem solved. Except that M+ participation would likely drop like Felix Baumgärtner, because it seems that most people already only do it for loot to begin with.

You dont get to decide which reason to play is right and which is wrong though. If its your opinion that gear isnt a reason to play and have fun, thats fair.
But dont go around telling people that find playing for gear fun, that their reasons for playing are wrong, since our reason for playing is just as valid as yours.

Just for the record, i´m not “telling” anybody anything, because that would assume that I actually care about them and why they want to live it the way they do. :beers:

There are no statements in there that say that people “should not be playing” or similar, so the criticism is already tenuous at best…

But if someone wants to take that statement as a springboard to reflect on why they`re subjecting themselves to a game that, at face value, they obviously don´t enjoy, I can hardly find something bad about that…

who is subjecting themself to something they dont enjoy ?

That´s for everyone to reflect on and decide for themselves.

But if we assume that people actually mean what they type, roughly 30% of the posters on teh forum, especially those that have run the same dungeon 5x and don´t have their BiS item yet
