Im sure this has been said many times before but. The amount of glyphs is so tiny and most are really specific or recolours. Its actually quite silly. We have the potential for really cool custimization of our characters here and totally change the fantasy of our classes but instead its totally wasted away and forgotten.
Just so everyones aware bfa for 8 glyphs total. 1 for hunter, 2 for druid, and 5 for mage (4 of which are slight wate4 elemental recolours). And monks have 7, total.
There is so much potential in this system even just in recolours that would be amazing. Warrior has several cool fire glyphs and 2 cool thunder glyphs. Why not go full ham and let them become thunder warriors if they wish. Apply weapon enchant to some spell effects, thunders sound on enemy kill, lighting trail on charge, electified shield with shield wall. Why not?
Let priests play as shadow healers, let spells be bigger if its a crit, let shaman frost and lavashock actually have visuals, give the warriors extra bleeding glyph to any class with bleeds. So much could be done.
Are their any glyphs youd like to see added to the game?
I have the same feelings. Even simple recolors could be given for more spells and it would be nice. Just to see dozens of options for our specialization rather than only few.
I’d like to see some glyphs for Moonkin form.
More glyphs for Shaman spirit form.
Glyph for levitate which adds featherly wings.
Lots of coloring variations for every spell for every class.
More demon skins for warlocks.
And also it would be nice if Blizzard fix already existing glyphs like glyph of shadows which is ugly or raptor glyph for shaman which could have new model of raptor instead of sh*tty old one.
Glyph of angels should be usable for discipline priests.
I can’t off the top of my head think of any new ones (I’m not creative ) but a good start would be adding back a lot of the glyphs they’ve removed for no good reason.
I wish they would update the “upgraded” demons that were used a few expansions ago (now they are only cosmetic) - I never got why they didn’t in Legion since the expansion was literally full of demons everywhere. I still use my fel imp because it looks so much better than the regular one, even if it looks outdated!
Well like Jesi mentioned, DK had a few for Wraithwalk; one which made it actually walk.
Warlocks had one that gave the class mounts fiery movement and also allowed them to run across water. I imagine maybe that one’s removed because it adds actual gameplay mechanics, but the monks apparently still have their cloud, so that’s not an excuse.
Speaking of waterwalking, rogues had a glyph that allowed running across water when using Sprint.
Paladins had several glyphs to change the animation on their seals. Seals are a thing of the past, but there’s no reason they couldn’t still have them in as cosmetic abilities, like say the one you can buy at order hall that lets you kneel/pray.
They made an entire profession initially for Glyphs [Inscription], just to have that feature neutered and the profession near redundant beyond Vantus Runes for Raids, and the few purely cosmetic glyphs…
I second the entire statement of “MORE COSMETIC GLYPHS!” - and your warrior examples (like crackling lightning sounds when enemies dies) are pretty good. I love the idea!
I REALLY want a glyph for MW monks that bring the animation of Legion’s revival back (the green jade dragon appearing when revival was used <3). I was devastated to see it gone when BFA launched
For hunters I really want something to change their tar trap… I mean, this trap makes less sense than the previous ice trap to begin with - I’d rather have pretty much anything else. Like… Spike trap? Mud trap? Quick sand trap? Deadly Mole diggers trap? Anything, really … Something to change Ice Trap would be pretty dope too - maybe bundle of snakes (like Temple of Sethraliss :D) ?
Yeah. Raptor is more “feral” than the stupid cat-dino-fake-thing. Raptor can rip everything with its claws, just like the cat form. They are just too lazy to do some cool raptor attack animations.
