The amount of times I hear my prot pala say “I’m dead, this stupid healer used lay on hands on me” a few seconds before disaster…
It’s very annoying tbh.

You can go into a pull with a plan to use bubble at a certain point. You don’t necessarily have a contingency ready for someone giving you Forbearance, whether you notice it or not.
That said, it’s still a very colorful thread title with liberal definitions. It would be way more applicable to abilities like Rescue or Leap of Faith.
And no, I don’t want other paladins to be unable to use Forbearance-inducing abilities on me.
Yeah leaving is not really an option if the random comp has bad synergy. I was thinking I remember there being post from blizzard. Tho the problem is really not the leavers but the bad design of making system that assumes everyone sticks around for 6 rounds. There can be abundance of reasons people drop out or they simply have had enough.
Eh, you lose 150 rating if you leave and you risk getting your account banned if you leave repeatedly, in shuffle.
It’s better to just take the L and lose normally than leave because 150 rating can be an entire week of playing wiped out. You’ll pretty much never lose 150 rating by losing even if you go 0-6.
If you’re not prepared for this, you need to play with more paladins more often.
The creative ways you can use LoH to screw over your fellow raiders and party members with forebearance is almost endless.
A friend of mine even laments the day when BoP no longer made you unable to attack. He used to have fun bopping hunters’ pets the moment they used their CDs.
I just had a shuffle with a holy paladin that used loh on me when I was going to divine shield when the enemy popped their CDs.
I got nuked into oblivion and he goes “??? SHIELD???”
BRO, YOU JUST GAVE ME FOREBEARANCE. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO USE DIVINE SHIELD.
They really need to give us something to stop this.
You kind of missed the point but it’s okay. People aren’t going to leave in either situation much.
People don’t leave all that often in shuffle now because they potentially erase a week progress or more if they do and lose less if they just take the L and lose 6 rounds.
Before they implemented a penalty for leaving, leavers were abundant and people were leaving left and right if it wasn’t a shuffle lobby favorable for their spec.
It is possible that with spirit link you drop to a HP threshold where an ability from the boss/mob hits you for more than what your HP is.
It never happened with me so far, but theoretically it is possible as Spirit link does not save you from oneshots. I did have one instance where on mythic Rashok I used expel harm to heal myself up before spirit link was dropped on the group, and it siphoned half my health away.
It was scary to watch myself being around 100k worth of HP away from death every time I did not dodge.
Still, I would not restrict its use just because there are some rare situations this can happen.
Leaving is announced to be penalized by blizzard so its not an option nor should not be suggested to anyone to leave games, people risk getting banned for it. There were announcement from blizzard for this.
You are definitely missing the point
No one is disputing the penalties other than the claim of it resulting in bans on the account.
There was a discussion earlier suggesting well just leave and I responded in practice people aren’t likely to leave in PvE any more than they leave in PvP. I’m not suggesting you can’t leave in PvE but in practice you may have just spent half an hour or more getting into groups. No one is suggesting there aren’t penalties for leaving in solo shuffle. This convo was pretty done and dusted, then someone commented on that earlier discussion quoting me. And here we are.
It is funny in discussions when they go off at tangents like this.
Sorry I have no idea what you said but you did suggest to op and me and others in this post I guess that they could just leave games. And I pointed out that its announced to be bannable offense by blizzard. Annesathiel did the digging for the post. No one should leave shuffles unless want to risk for account ban.
“Players who leave excessively will be subject to account review and suspensions, as abandoning matches repeatedly is a violation of the terms of service via exploiting functionality to the detriment of the game environment and the intended player experience.”
Sinny explained earlier but it’s always better to have multiple explanations than none :). I clearly haven’t been observant enough when people slap it down. It’s never killed me though. So I guess that’s why I’ve never paid much attn.
So excessive, as we suspected, not for just leaving a match.
Also a suspension rather than a ban. That explains why our google searches came up empty. We were looking for ban.
There were lots of threads by players calling for bans.
Thank you for finding the post
My responses were to people suggesting PvE can just leave, and I was making the point neither are going to. I’m sorry if that was misunderstood.
Sorry I didnt, it was the person I mentioned. I said I cant bother to look for it but i remembered it announced as offense to leave games. Anyways dont want this get off tracks more, its important to note tho that leaving games should not be an option unless want risk an action.
I honestly appreciate the links, I don’t keep up to date on PVP stuff anywhere near as much PvE.
And claim they can’t swap characters because the forum is bugged for them, so they’re stuck posting on the current one. Don’t forget that part.
It has been like that ever since the forum had a hiccup a few months back.
Shame it’s not like every other blizzard forum where you can only post on your btag name.
The announcement is kinda vague but could be interpret that abundance of leaving would result in suspension, in practice Ive not heard anyone get one tho.
