We had nothing but alliance focus the past 3 expansions already dude. We have the right to complain if the product is bad.
Yes, the story has featured more alliance centric characters.
Yes, as I already said: Iâm all for seperate campaigns again to remedy that.
But no, we didnât have ânothing but alliance focusâ. Thatâs just complete nonsense.
The focus has been on âthe sagaâ. Not on the factions.
The factions matter very little in this story. Itâs all about these characters and these bad guys and these big cosmic forces.
Had. This isnât a one time occurrence.
Weird thing to argue over.
I think you need to read that sentence again. ![]()
Of course itâs about factions. Thatâs why alliance NPCs keep crap talking the Horde player all the time and we canât even bite back.
Then youâre not understanding the story.
Because itâs literally not.
DF was about the Dragon Flights coming home and then about these bad guys setting things in motion.
TWW was about Xal continuing what was set in motion and the greater threat of the void.
In Midnight itâll continue Xalâs threat and be about the void AND light both being a threat in their own way and likely what the effect of this is (and then moving on to the titans).
The factions literally donât matter. The characters involved arenât there âbecause of factionâ. They are there to protect Azeroth or because they are plot devices (Magni and Alleria for instance).
You seriously donât understand storytelling, it seems. ![]()
When does that happen? Examples please.
Itâs almost nothing but alliance leaders all the time. Thatâs been going on since Legion. And Horde fans are tired of being ignored.
Alright here you go.

Youâre not a horde fan. That was established already.
Theyâre literally nobodies. Nameless Silver Convenant NPCS.
Iâm sure thereâs horde npcs that arenât nice to alliance either (no, I didnât look for them; because I DONâT CARE).
They are very slowly building some tension back up (like in the exchange in TWW during the training the troops quest, where alliance and horde are riffing on one another).
Your mind really goes to strange places.
They are important enough to get dialogue.
Thatâs more then just tension. Thatâs racism.
I pay attention to every detail.
I will have to say itâs boring and honestly kinda sad to constantly follow the Alliance Heroes no matter what and the Writing team basically erasing Hordeâs presence. Why do we have to follow Umbric and Windrunner Jr. Across the Eversong Woods? Why do we have to be involved into the Windrunner Family Drama? For the pete sake we meet Raventusk Trolls again during Amani Zone except⌠Somehow theyâre from the group that Never Interacted with the Horde. Itâs Undermine all over again where Blizzard had to make sure we understand that the Bilgewater Cartel as a whole is not aligned with the Horde. Itâs TWW all over again where the cinematic implies some higher role for Horde leaders and figures only to erase them from the actual story. Yay, Thrall was present on TWW Loading screen. Shame he was kicked from the story till effectively the endgame content and even then did absolutely nothing of importance.
Hey, now⌠Donât insult a BM hunter when it comes to the importance of animal companions. Those Stormrooks were important!

If youâd translate it into modern terms; Thrall helped save a nationâs air force.
Fair. Admittedly I pushed the questline out of my head because I was so disappointed we didnât get to nab one as Blizzard made them a store mount/Expensive edition bonus.
His role was still miniscule (Stormrooks were used only once in and never again post the questline) and we spent majority of our time on Bronzebeard Family Trip, Anduinâs pity party and Alleria Not getting a hint. And now were onto spending more time with the Alliance Heroes my character would probably rather punch in the face considering what little backstory I wrote for her
The Horde has no air force.
Oh yeah. As Iâve been saying: Iâm all for seperate horde and alliance campaigns again.
Iâm not sure why theyâre not doing it.
Whether itâs this really specific story they want to tell, or whether itâs simply a case of saving time and money. Doesnât really matter to me; I think the game would benefit from having 2 campaigns with different viewpoints again; just the replayability alone would make it worth it, imo.
And honestly: I think that is the stronger argument here.
Not âOh thereâs horde/alliance biasâ, but: The game is better with faction campaigns in it.
Itâs much easier to just make a single Storyline for everyone, than it is to write two seperate stories. Itâs one of the biggest signs of WoW decline to me.
I think the both arguments are valid though. Midnight based on what was found in the Alpha just showcases it in the worst possible way. I didnât enjoy the TWW due to having been largely revolving around Alliance Characters but whatever. The setting was fitting them as we were surrounded by Proto-Dwarves and the supposedly lost human empire expedition. This time the setting is the Capital of Horde Race, finally rebuilt and refurbished as a zone after 20 years and⌠Itâs used as a background to more alliance characters drama with the leaders of the city sitting in the background because theyâre too hard to write I guess.
Thatâs probably the reason and not only story but area and content too .
one of the biggest reason why I liked bfa was that I rolled alliance and horde both sides character to see a different story and area .I did like rare pet collection too .
Now all we get is same generic story and so called same capital expansion area which is lagging because both factions are in same area .
Isnât it fun to be a blood elf player returning to quelâthalas only to be forced to quest with Allerias family and Umbric the whole time instead of your own leaders. The bias is obvious.
Technically speaking, the Windrunners are your peopleâŚ.
Yeah pretty much, the Horde is a lot more pragmatic, something that the Blood Elves are claimed to have become by trying to adapt to the temporary status quo of sunwell gone
