instead of min maxing raids and raid logging at same time? we should be trying something new instead. min max elitists destroyed it but we need to come together and make a change but its unlikely with the attitudes we have atm.
those who play min max meta atm just need to swallow their pride for a bit and start thinking outside the box for once. its getting out of hand which means we need a player culture change in classic community.

People are not very smart or enjoy mistreating other players if they are given an opportunity. I was kicked out of Gruul & Mag raid for not having gems installed, otherwise almost full T4 epic gear mage. No real reason for it, I was in a Gruul raid in dungeon blues as fresh 70 with zero gems and still we got them down.

In before “Just don’t play with them”
100% agree with you . But we fought and lost this battle a long time ago . The only thing you can do is either play with friends or find a guild with like minded people .

To be fair, it’s hard not to want to min-max when developers do things like put out pre-nerf raids like in TBC, or make them harder as is the case in SoM. Harder content = min-maxing becomes almost required. But in Classic and obviously Vanilla too, you had these super casual guilds, the ones you kind of just join and there’s no application process or anything and you just kind of sign up to the raids and go if you like and there’s no consume checking or world buff checking or even gear checking, really. It’s just people coming together having some fun trying to take the raids on. Obviously you had min-maxers in Classic too but you could still find plenty of casual guilds that didn’t care. Sad thing is those kind of guilds suffer a lot from HaRdEr content and as a result you don’t see so many of them in both TBC and SoM. How many guilds straight up died from pre-nerf SSC and TK in TBC? Oof. How is SoM doing? Last time I checked in SoM the PuG’s require full pre-BiS gear + consumes just to join for Onyxia. So ridicilous. In Classic I joined Onyxia on the first month of release in random quest/dungeon pieces and there was no issue. But nowadays the culture it’s different of course, because devs (and to be fair, a lot of players too) are obsessed with the content being as challenging as possible.
too many people who overcompensate in classic what t hey couldnt achieve back then

Feel free to start a guild around this idea and see how it goes

Unfortunately you can’t talk to people who prey at the mindless church of logic. They are robots who for all intents and purposes are barely human and socially backwards.
Screw in game min max bs, it’s big business that are min maxing, even your own workplace. Some entity will decide what is fair and reasonable and you will sit and eat it or leave. The latter is why virtually every big company or corporation now have an atrocious customer service set up aimed at just wasting your time in the hope you’ll just not bother.

Ah those were the days of gamers, the days that unfortunately started to end about a decade ago when mainstream audience really got involved.
And yeah, the days when no one wanted to play with a min max try hard. Guilds who refused to exploit bosses. When GDKP runs in vanilla were frowned upon as not being in the spirit of the game, the days when people played classes or races because they wanted to and not because some dumb youtuber or reddit page told them it was the “meta”.

As long as you enjoy it for it is and don’t get on like a min max moron
yes let’s go 25 boomkin Magtheridon
Funny you say that because people actually killed Onyxia with 40 hunters in Classic. A lot harder to pull off in TBC though because of the way the raids are designed.
But isnt it wierd to say that some people enjoy min maxing just because a youtuber says so, cant it just be that i love to improve myself and my dps/tanking/healing? Some People really love this and you got to accept that. No one is forcing you in min maxing groups and guilds, youre totaly free to create your own casual guild and casual groups if you want to.
What’s wrong with wanting to play good? Like what do you want? People intentionally playing bad? Who is having fun when they’re intentionally sucking? I mean feel free to create a guild around that idea but I feel like it won’t go so well.
You should do what you want .
No one should try to even think/enforce how others play and question their reasoning why they play and what for.
Play with like minded people simple as that.
Well thats a bit contradictory: I was kicked for not having gems installed, otherwise no real reason for it.
Erm, no, thats the real reason for it - no gems installed, why take you in that slot when they can take someone else who did bother to put gems in? you may be a better player and do more DPS than him, but thats not the impression you’re going to give when you havent done that simple task. If the gear you have isnt amazing, dont use the most expensive gems, use greens or cheaper blues until you get the better gear worth using more coveted gems on.
I wouldnt want you in my raid either.
