Hi, I have been struggling to find out how “Chance to hit +%” and weapon skill works specifically in —World PVP— on classic - I have read before that it is different in open world PVP - with +8 weaponskill, what hit % is needed to reach hit cap vs a lvl 60?
It is 5% to reach cap in battlegrounds I believe even with the weaponskill, but given weaponskill supposedly works differently in world pvp, would make sense that this number would be lower (assuming no +defense, which also likely works differently?)
Against level 60 players weapon skill does not increase chance to hit unless you are sub 60 in wpvp and duels, in battlegrounds weapon skill is maxed for everyone.
So as a warrior you need to get 5% hit from your gear and you are good to go.
In that case, does +defense (lets say +8 defense) only add .04% to be missed per point against in BOTH world pvp and battlegrounds, and only that tiny miniscule difference is nullified by weapskill, or is it more significant in world PVP?
I remember being mind controlled in strat while having 349 def and people were whiffing SIGNIFICANTLY against me, was wondering if mitigation gear would have a similar, more noticeable difference in world pvp.
The only thing I saw was that weap skill and chance to hit is factored -BEFORE- defense is checked, but it didn’t clarify what the defense did… just made it at least sound like it’d be more significant than weapskill in effect
To talk anout a hit cap you gotta understand the formula for hit chance, it depends on your level and the target you’re attacking, it all matters, so if you try to hit a tank that has 400 defense skill you won’t land nearly as many hits on him, try it yourself you’re a warrior
Sure, just basically trying to figure if something like +7 defense is worth more than .04% miss/dodge/reduced crit/parry per point in world pvp - does the game treat me like I’m a mob in world pvp and increase the hit % they would need more drastically. From my understanding, world pvp and BG differed in these things…
