Weapon Vendor in Hall of Legends selling Phase 6 Weapons

They stated that they release the early epic PVP set in its last version, which is in line with what they did with ever other gear, like T1 or T2. However, some of the weapons were released very late in vanilla and are now available. Which is not true for other gear, for example Spellweaver’s Turban from Drakkisath in UBRS, that won’t be released before Phase 5.

They also pretty much stated that plan in their General Content Plan post. Some quotes:

Staff of the shadowflame is not good in most cases for pvp

I don’t see what’s the problem with PvP. I mean, in PvE you have the issue that excessively powerful items may trivialize progression. But in PvP, everyone has (at least in theory) access to this powerful gear. And there will be so few R14 around that the chance of even meeting one in BGs (at least early on, before PvE starts offering equal/superior options) will be astronomically low.

20% of my guild is getting r14, and we are a big guild. How is that a small percentage? Its a small percentage if u take into account the whole server pop, but if you disregard the plebs that dont matter, r14 becomes way more common

And what about, say, Ring of Spellpower or Mana Igniting Cord? They were present from Phase 1, even if they came around BWL release.

  1. Let’s meet again once 20% of your guild gets R14, and see what phase of Classic it is
  2. Why wouldn’t we count the entire server pop, exactly?

Just more examples of blizzards obvious incompetence

Phase 4 & 5 items dropping in MC, not surprised.
surprised that they have said WSG trinkets will be held back… doesnt make much sense tho.

Atm my server has 15 bracket 1 slots. 13 are taken by my guild, and a bunch more have br2 , and a bunch more plan on going hard once bgs come out, just about all these players have reached 13/14 multiple times on various pservers and some even in vanilla

How many people are in your guild?
5?

Easily over 100

If Blizzard didn’t do it, Majordomo’s chest would’ve been empty, among other things. So yeah, I’m glad they did what they did, to be honest.

Cant argue that pservers handled item progression a billion times better than blzzard

Uh no, honestly I found extremely bothersome to have to check if a certain item’s stats would change later on to decide if I wanna roll on it or not (I mean sure, addons would probably have been made to show it in tooltips, but still… I don’t rly miss the hassle)

Progressive itemisation was a part of vanilla. The garbage we have here is not. Pservers were more authentic to the vanilla experience than wow classic

That stuff came with the BG patch and gear roughly 1-2 months prior to BWL. And for europeans, who were raiding MC for like one month, they already felt in vanilla like they were always there kinda. But in general you are right too and these items should only be made available with phase 2.5. This is however just a small deviation from vanilla (phase 1 with 2.5), while the epic weapons in question are in phase 2 compared to phase 6 where they were released in vanilla.

Considering how many ppl get access to those MC items, compared to R14 weps, I’d say the former had a lot more impact on the community than the latter.

Really, I’ve never seen such a fuss over something that only the 0.1% of the lvl 60 community (being optimistic here) could possibly achieve. By the time enough ppl get their hands on these (assuming that time even comes), there will be even better options from AQ/Naxx available.

Seriously, how many R14 per server do you expect, before phase 5?

Zion is a big guild? Never heard of it. Btw you should start to level up if you want rank 14 any time soon.

Im in apes this is retail char

What’s your in game name?
