Weekly chest - requires honor instead of conquest now

So blizz changed something but in reality didnt change anything. So bfa m+ all over again.

Bring WOD pvp gearing and ilvl scaling back.

What I mean is PvP is the best source of Versatility and if you want to get 3 extra choices from PvP for your weekly Vault you need to play PvP. If you want 3 extra options from M+ you still need to play M+. I don’t know about your spec but as Ele Shaman my PvP gear is quite good as there are plenty of Haste/Versa pieces. I will probably compliment them with few M+ ones that I can’t get from PvP nad I’m gucci but if someone’s best stat in PvE is Versa he is a bit sad if he is not good in PvP.

This is what I mean by forced. It’s the same thing they do to us. If you want to have full Haste/Versa gear you will need to play M+ for these weekly vault rewards. It’s 10 M+ per week for 3 Mythic item choices.

Ah i see what you mean, windwalkers i believe have vers as a bis stat. I’ve not heard they are vers gear drop less in PvE content though?

On the other hand im sure if i need to min-max ill also need to dip my toes into PvE if it has a better distribution of vers/X stat but im talking maybe one or two peices of gear rather than all of course.

You have some pieces from PvE but definetely more from PvP. Blizzard made this change so every PvP piece has Versa on it so it’s desired for some specs like WW.

I think that’s putting a lot on the shoulders of a small change made at the eleventh hour.

Maybe it’ll do something good for RBGs. Maybe it won’t. If it will, then it’s good. If not, then it’s status quo.

Again, this is no different from the previous expansions where we also had a PvP vendor and where casual PvPers would just find a group for 2v2 or 3v3 once a week, play the minimum amount of games needed to get their Conquest points, and go back to their casual PvP as per usual.
I’m sure lots of people have done that in BfA as well. And I’m sure lots of people would do it in Shadowlands anyway, regardless of this change.

And even so, the guy who only does Random Battlegrounds (that could possibly be me) might compliment that with something else than Arenas, like World Quests or Mythic+ Dungeons or Raids or whatever, and earn his weekly Vault item that way. Rated Arena or RBGs aren’t the only path to unlocking that weekly Vault item. They’re but one of many paths. You really don’t have to play the game a lot, or do very much, to get that Vault item each week.

It was possible to get conquest cap with playing only BGs and Warmode though and it’s not possible now.

You can still get your Conquest cap each week from Random Battlegrounds and Warmode, unless I’m very mistaken.
So buying Conquest items from the vendor should be perfectly possible, even if you’re a casual PvPer who never sets foot into Rated Arena or RBGs.

The change only pertains to the weekly Vault item, which in the case of PvP activities, now requires that you earn x amount of Honor through Rated PvP.

At least to what I understand from Wowhead post you can’t as it only counts Honor gained from rated activities. I mean you can still get conquest points but you can’t get vault rewards which is higher ilvl than conquest rewards and in the past you got it with conquest cap.

You earn Honor and Conquest points from all PvP activities. The rated activities reward the most.

You can use both Honor and Conquest points to buy Honor and Conquest gear from the PvP vendor.

In order to unlock the weekly Great Vault item from PvP you need to earn Honor through Rated PvP. Honor earned through non-rated PvP doesn’t count.

So TLDR; The Great Vault has nothing to do with Conquest points or the PvP vendor. It’s a separate source of gear – one item per week.

It seems…fine.

The thing is that PvP gear with base rating is just 200 ilvl so it quickly won’t be attractive to anyone after some time. Weekly vault gives higher ilvl and it was a chance for extra source of Versatility gear for some specs. Not anymore unless someone doesn’t mind getting into rated PvP. I’m against this approach because it makes people do things they don’t enjoy and bored.

I’m not sure I understand what your gripe is.
If someone only queues for Alterac Valley all the time, do you think that person should be able to earn the best PvP gear in the game?

Not the best but if M+15 is so easy and every mediocre player can clear it why PvP rewards have to be way harder to achieve.

I’m currently defending the other side because this is beneficial to me.

I’m a casual PvPer and I’ve not completed any Mythic +15.

The notion that the super casual people are strolling through Mythic+ 15 Dungeons with ease, that doesn’t strike me as true.

I would also question if PvP rewards are way harder to acquire in Shadowlands than the equivalent rewards from PvE.
To me personally, I think PvP will be an incredibly lucrative source of gear for a lot of players.

I mean, it goes both ways. As easy as it is to chop through a Mythic+ 15 if you got a competent group and good spec synergy, as easy is it to gain rating in 2v2 if you play an overpowered faceroll comp.

No offense

But lol
