Can we talk about the current state of chat mutes and bans? Because honestly, itās getting ridiculous.
Right now, you can get a 7-day ban for saying literally anything someone might find offensive. Doesnāt matter if it was a joke, sarcasm, or clearly not serious ā if a few sensitive souls decide to mass-report you, thatās it. Banhammer time.
And it feels like half the playerbase these days is just running around with their report button ready, like thatās the entire minigame for them. Not playing the game ā just hunting for things to get offended by.
Whatās even worse is that this environment is making people scared to say anything at all. No more fun banter, no more joking in dungeons or BGs. Everyoneās acting like emotionless bots, just running through the content in silence.
This is an MMO ā itās supposed to be social. Itās supposed to be a game where people interact, make friends, maybe troll each other a little in good fun. But Blizzardās current policies are killing that vibe.
Let me be clear ā Iām 100% in favor of banning actual hate speech: racism, sexism, real toxicity. No one wants that. But handing out bans for harmless trolling or sarcasm? Thatās just way over the line.
And donāt even get me started on the state of Customer Support. Blizzard claims that every ban is reviewed by a real person? Sure. Sounds nice on paper. But in reality, it feels like once you hit a certain number of reports, youāre autobanned, and good luck getting an answer to your appeal in under a week.
I miss the old days of LFG chat ā it was chaotic, messy, sometimes annoying, but it had life. Now itās just boring recruitment spam and dead silence.
Blizzard really needs to take a step back and reassess this whole punishment system. Right now, itās doing more harm than good. People arenāt having fun anymore ā theyāre just walking on eggshells.
