the way dragon riding works is this take off and jump up to gain hight then when as high as you can get and out of vigor glide ever so slightly down while your viror renews ,to gain hight quickly with full vigor use whirling surge then jump twice , also going down you gain vigor very quickly , then just practice makes perfect . i am atm flying dragon races with 42 chars and filling my gold chest with gold . 14 million over the whole expansion.
There is no need to even use whirling surge. It does waste too much vigor compared with itâs use. You can easily do the same just with jumps for less vigor.

I wanted to make sure folks who didnât know about the toggle, found out about the toggle⌠the toggle for standard flying.
Ah so you mean the one to turn on dynamic flight then. Ok. 
truly you dont know how to get up a great height . use whirling surge once to start climbing steeply up ,then get the up angle right and you can jump as many times as you want as the vigor keeps filling as fast as you use it till eventualy you hit the ceiling of the game where it says in red writing you have reached disturbed air and can go no higher . if you never discovered this way of fly ing you are a failure .
Even with maxed out glyphs and a lot of practice I still como across Dragonriding dysfunction now and thenâŚ
I can do the same easily without whirling surge. If you canât, youâre the failure.
