new classic player here, started 1 month and half ago, what are the layers consequences? cuz they seem to get implemented on US soon
It makes the game feel like shieat.
It can be abused in all kinds of ways. Ruins the feeling of a world. Ruins world pvp. I have no idea what would happen to world bosses.

if its destroys the wpvp its a no no for me since im still leveling and i enjoy it too much
And do you have wpvp while you are leveling? There is less people leveling than initially.
In theory it should hold you and people you see in one layer aside of moving you when needed when joining a group. It allows for higher amount of players playing on a realm concurrently. On the other side it can be abused to gather resources, respawning mobs/things etc. You can also miss a city raid if you are in the other layer. The alternative to this are login queues, free transfer to lower traffic realms or just no pandemic.
i find people, not many, but like 1 fight every 2 hours minimum

Layering is the same amount of people spread across more shards, not more people in one shard.
Nope your majority of classic communit raid logs sits in city afk most of time and 1 realm i doubt they even go to multiple zones at once and see raid groups/parties people nonstop doing stuff .
if there is 100% horde on X realm and 100% ali on Y realm it puts them together more realms need sharding to it too.
Layering will make classic look more dead without crossrealm beyond city not having lag and less queue time.
Funny isnt it when majority afks in city to the point they raid log all at same time to make queue ?
That’s what cross-realm sharding does, not layering. Layering is multiple shards from a single server, created to spread the vast population out more. Layers are realm bound, they don’t pull people from other realms into your layer.
If we had 6 layers on Firemaw, each of those layers would be people from Firemaw, and Firemaw only.
If people are AFK raid logging, then we don’t need layering.
I agree as you can see right now there is 0 queue on full realm.
raid log time goes and buff times and all of them log in 10% of tiem realm overcrowded 90% not.
