Hear ya! Start a community? “Poor people on Azeroth”
No, please.
I am poor, but not weak! Still rock on 90+ logs on Classic and TBC. And I do not need super computer for good perfomance
Core i9-9900KS
EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW Ultra Hydrocopper
Max out wow with atleast 140 fps at 1440P
Still running 10 years old computer. i7 3770, 16 GB DDR3, ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 and some parts I bought like graphic card Gigabyte 1060 6 GB oc, SSD and move on. Planning to buy new, dunno when.
Even tiny gyms can grow big bodybuilders
(dunno, just popped up in the head)
Fight the power!
My rig is what, 6-8 years old.
Old, but functional
i love the sabertooth motherboards. i got a Z87 sabertooth. most stable motherboard i ever had
I7 8700 + GTX 1066, still sad that i didn’t manage to get 3060TI when it was availiable and cheap… right before this whole new wave of mining trash
I’ve just ordered a laptop with these specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060 6GB, 16GB RAM, 2560 × 1440 165Hz screen, 1TB SSD
Plan to sell my 2018 Mac Air too so should be a good deal all in all.
Good upgrade for a gamer you should be able to pay atleast 1/3 or 1/2 of the new computer with your old.
Yep, it should pay for a half of the new one. I used to have that Mac (work, music production etc) and some low end laptop for gaming on the side, I sold that one last year. I feel like my needs changed and I want just one solid device for everything again. Still gonna be a pain in the … as I got quite deep in their eco system + obviously less battery life and portability, but it should be more of a desktop computer now with the added benefit of being able to grab it if absolutely necessary.
Ye I understand you completely. I did sell my iMac 27" 4K in 2019/20, since my urge to game did return. Apple is much but a gaming rig isn’t one of the things I could build my whole pc from the money that I did get from selling my old mac.
And also I did get irritated on Mac since I couldn’t install the different research programs from the University due to safety restrictions in the OS on apple.
Same I have iPhone, iPad, I watch, Apple TV, MacBook I can sync them with my PC without any problems, so don’t worry.
zotac 3080 and 9900k. laptop has a 4800hs and 1660 ti max q.
3090 Ti
i9-9960X
64 gb ram
but i cant wait for the new gpu/cpu releases because i already feel my PC outdated
Outdated?
Nah you must troll me!
You’re giving me hope, I’ll let you know how it went in a few days or if I kept my Mac as well, haha.
I actually made a pros and cons list prior to the purchase and everything ended up only as a solvable annoyance. The thing I feel the laziest about is that I’ll have to transfer my unfinished music projects to another DAW… and get used to it, plus it’s some extra cash.
Honestly, as someone who builds gaming PCs day in day out (its my job), upgrading to a 40 series card when they come out would be massive overkill. Plus the fact you would have to upgrade your CPU, then Motherboard to support your CPU, then RAM for the newer motherboard to support DDR5, plus upgrading your powersupply to support the power usage of the 40 series card. Plus upgrading your case for better airflow so it keeps everything as cool as possible. Youre looking at a full new build, not just upgrading to a 40 series card.
Honestly, if you just play wow and have no issues currently, save your money.
Yes, fully aware of that fact!
My build today is:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F
SSD: Corsair Force MP400 1TB M2
CPU: 3600X Ryzen 5
GPU: RX580 8GB OC rog strix
RAM: 3200mhz Corsair ddr4, cl16
PSU: RM750x
Monitor: Asus rog strix 170hz, 1440p IPS, 2K
It was decent budget build in 2019, monitor is new tho and cost around halftime the price of the computer
Thats still a decent build. Especially for WoW I built my mate a £500 budget build which included a mouse and keyboard in the height of GPU prices being insane. He only has a 1030 and he has no issues on WoW.
Hehe ye I’m super happy that I could build it before the Covid-19 outburst. I did buy part by part from different sites on sales. I did pay around 220 euro for the GPU and today I could sell it for 400 euro, so sick!
I did challenge myself in 2019 to build a “gaming pc” from the money that I sold my IMAC 27" 4K for. And I did it!
Later on I have changed monitor to more high end, same with keyboard and mouse
I play WoW on 1440p, 2K, on setting 8/10 without any problem. I could use setting 10/10, but my GPU have to work even more then and the room is already hot. XD
An ageing i9 9900K with 2x RTX 2080 Ti SLI connected to a pair of 28" 4K HDR monitors.
It still runs anything I throw at it though very few games takes advantage of multiple GPUs properly or at all…
