No, they removed class quests in Cata. I worded it poorly, but yeah tjey removed them in cata because shamans were running around without totems (talking about dumbing down the game).
Ahhhh.
I sometimes miss quivers and keeping pets happy. But then again… This is so much more convenient. It’s a double edged sword.
Fine fine. “Canine adjacent” or ‘Canidae’. Will that work for you?
Gee willikers!
LOL I didn’t think about that, I was thinking about the black empire pyramids
Sorry!
Something related to Gnomes. Maybe about retaking Gnomeregan in the begining. Mechagnomes would be involved (I loved Mechagon) and we’d get some much needed customization options for them.
Two large continents one horde and the other alliance. On each continent are twelve walled kingdoms/zones and a large castle. There is no flying and no way to get out of the kingdom/zone until the end of each month. The quests are subject to both your reputation in the kingdom and your achievements. This unlocks chapters in the castle leading to both instanced dungeon clearing and a final raid. On success you obtain the key to the gate and move on to the next kingdom.
The zones are gradually made harder and the rep and questing more difficult. The dungeons get bigger as do the raids. You start a humble low level foot soldier and work your way to the elite. Eventually on the twelth month you take on the highest dungeon and the highest raid and the most monumental of battles.
Winning the final challenge gives you access to the harbour and right of passage to the opposing kingdom. Depnding on your status and desire you can choose to do battle or quest but by avoiding the opposing forces. You work your way through the twelve other kingdoms in the same way on a month by month basis.
Eventually after 24 months you will be the most powerful and revered warrior in the kingdom worthy of a seat at the castle that is the final challenge in the game.
The trick here is something that this game has rejected and is why it fails every time. It does not have zonal progression or faction tensions. It fails to give two years of content and there is no sense of ever achieving anything other than riding the hamster wheel. Its about time they resticted passage through the game instead of the two week levelling process we have now and give everyone a challenge for the duration of the expansion which we buy.
By the way alt characters have the same month to also level and can take the gates out using the account wide keys. The process can get faster depending on your main.
So twelve zones time gated to one month at a time and twelve dungeons and raids for each of the continents. How well a player does in each zone will colour achievements, rewards, appearance, status, skills and maybe a home somewhere in the castle at the end. Glory is to retake your kingdom and defend it from the other faction. You become a knight of the order and trusted guard to the king.
Or we can have a game that is rinsed and repeated after two weeks and come here every month moaning about nothing to do. I hear dragon racing is fun… ar hum.
Anyway that is what I have been wanting from this game since Wrath. Just thought I’d mention it, not that it would appeal to anyone other than me I guess. I just want to feel that I am logging in to do something really meaningful and challenging and busy and populated and active. Each zone contained to one month would build a community of players that would get to know each other by nature of being active in a confined area.
By the way I’d dump the rest of the game and just start from this new expansion as the World of Warcraft Retail. I’d be happy if the game was totally reworked with a new modern engine and really forget the old retail and lose it completely. We all start at Level 1 and finish at Level 24 say. Then do the same with the next expansion and start over again… PS This way the content developers only need to release content on a month by month basis giving them time to rework stuff if they think its not working.
Twelve raids in twelve moths? Let’s be a bit realistic, shall we?
Core of the concept is good tho.
It downranks you like in GW2 to the level of the group leader using time walking tech and syncs your quest state, too: so you can quest together.
Really? Well then yeah F scaling, just use that. And yeah now that you mentioned it we do have TW and for some reason I completely forgot about it as an option.
Then you’ve never had a dog. And if you did; you did a lousy job training them.
PS: There’s loads of working dogs and they’re quite amazing at what they do.
T…t…t…Tinker?!
I already hate it. Sorry.
I could’ve sworn that WoW used to be the biggest MMORPG in the world, by a large margin.
And even today, after almost 19 years, it’s still doing pretty well.
How did it fail exactly?
I don’t see anything like that happening ever. It’s way too limiting on players.
It’s basically an entirely different game than what WoW is.
Tbh I want that we emerge from a “coma” state like in the movie Kill Bill, and it revealed to us that everything happened after BFA (more pecisely after the before we engage N’zoth) was a void nightmare, prepared by the old gods, to break us (considering WoW conent from that point, they almos succeded). And now fight multiply fronts, vs Slyvanas and her lackey, and different parties of the servants of the old gods, with Titan and Light help on our side.
It doesnt really matter anymore whats done is done with Blizz, they relegated Dark Ranger a Hero unit from WC3 and a popular Warcraft NPC class to a skin for 2 races, The damage has been done and a hunter is a nature user not death and disease magic so it wouldnt work. Just my 2 cents but I dont think it’s something Blizz would consider at all because they think they’ve fulfilled that fantasy already by giving Hunters 1 spell on the talent tree which is garbage and the Skins for the elven races, it makes me sad but it is what it is and I don’t have anymore hype for new classes in this game.
I’m sorry but if Tinker’s actually get a class I would probably rage quit considering how other Class architypes have been portrayed, seems childish I know but it would be truly unfair to those of us who wanted Classes like Necromacer Cloth kind not plate wannabes or Dark Rangers or Priestess’s of the moon, which where more prevelant heroes in the Warcraft universe than Tinker’s. x.x
Yes…please, do you know what, I’d take ANY form of “individual” player housing at this point, not just my ideal which would have been based on the “Wildstar MMORPG” but with a lot more asset options.
This expansion I have played more, invested more time, and more money financially because I found a top notch RPG guild that runs multiple weekly events. The add-ons for RP are so sophisticated now, a good GM can really bring your character, your relationships to life…
However, it just does not ring true that I do not have an abode that is mine. I mean, I’ve picked one, but it seems it’s on a timeshare with many others so often I log in, and there is about 20 of us, trying to RP that’s our house…
it’s not feasible…
Just give me a house, somewhere that is mine…come on Azeroth, I have earned my dues!! keep your titles and glory, I want deeds and land!!
All I want is a much simpler Materials (reagents, ingredients, herbs, ore etc.). I want fewer of them. I want no ranks or quality levels.
I don’t want bags full of this crap that I feel like I can’t just vendor as it’s “useful” but I can’t store either as they won’t give us enough space.
Personally this I think needs to be a choice. I personally can’t stand GW2 as no matter how strong you get, you are still ineffective…basically takes away the whole point of power progression.
I LOVE 1-shotting old-content, back when I was levelling it was hard, but hey now I’m 15, 10, 5, 3 years more experienced, stronger with better gear. You bet your bottom I should be coming back and wiping the floor with anything I experienced before…it’s cathartic and it brings immense joy. It’s also very relaxing and why, I basically engage in any kind of recreation.
My life is full of challenge, on Sunday afternoon, with a pot of tea, a plate of pastries and in my Pee-Jay’s…I want relaxation and joy…
Yet, I am not at all averse to more choice, with it being a button press or going to an NPC. As long as other people’s idea of fun play is not forced on me…
I personally can’t stand GW2 as no matter how strong you get, you are still ineffective…basically takes away the whole point of power progression.
The other issue GW2 has is that, unlike WoW, even the visual progression through skins is meaningless because 95% of the good looking appearances can be bought with gold or gems.
There’s not even a point of overcoming X or Y challenge, since anybody can just pay for the same skin anyway.
Yes, the cash shop…the every increasing, cash chasing purchases…
I wanted to love the game, I played Guild Wars with my Mum, and Guid Wars 2, and then she passed and I wanted to stay there, but eventually it just became a pale shadow of what it needed to be…
I am aware some people love it, but for me, it was when despite it’s insistence it’s a free game, and despite buying all the expansions, finding I had to pay for content from an expansion if I didn’t log in during a set period…
Also the fact I realised I was being sent to starter areas to do quests, as a max level I might add, I had already completed ad-nauseum, just to tick off a sheet for rewards.
I think the problem is now, my needs have changed, I want to RP now in a world, my own narratives, my own goals and I have found an amazing group of people to do so with. So providing Blizzard keep giving us new areas, toys we can use, nice, more mundane mogs and allow the clever players to carry on with the more sophisticated add-ons that allow this…I’ll be happy.
The idealist in me would like other players to be happy too, so that the game lasts longer. I certainly hope WOW continues to give the majority of it’s players a satisfactory gaming experience.
However the market has changed drastically since it was released, lots more choice now, and people want diverse things from the same game, hard to keep us all happy
I’d probably be playing GW2 right now if cool armor and mount cosmetics were locked behind specific activities: fractals, PvP, raids, jumping puzzles and exploration…
But there’s barely any. Which means doing anything is pointless.
So here I am, collecting Elite PvP sets in WoW instead.
I would just like rewarding and meaningful content in terms of constant character progression.
But knowing blizzard, it will probably be 95% useless “play once and forget”- content like in DF.
