But GW2 does that. A lot of cool transmogs, gliders and even ascended gear is locked behind meta achievements that require you to do all sorts of activities.
Taivan says hi…
A few.
Like I said, over 90% of the nice looking ones are on the cash shop.
So why haven’t you quit yet, considering we have Evokers in the game now?
A class that wasn’t prevalent in any Warcraft game.
Tinker has more ‘right’ to be in the game than Evoker, if you look at it that way.
I can understand not being interested in a particular new class, but quitting over it seems silly. I had no interest whatsoever in DKs, DHs or Evokers.
/hug
A goblin Survival Hunter is basically a tinker.
No, not even close.
Having a few traps and bombs doesn’t make you a tinker.
I would like full on mech suit wearing, bomb throwing, turret building, ranged weapon shooting mayhem. And alternatively some support and/or healing and/or tanking spec. This might even need a 4 spec class.
This could be a fun goblin/gnome exclusive class for sure.
It would also have made mor sense than Dracthyr that were pulled out of thin air, and that nobody asked for.
Or DH, which, while they have some nice fantasy, also have a toolkit made of recycled spells from Monks, Hunters and Rogues and nothing that truly stands out as a original and worthy of being a new separate class.
You should get stronger. A lot stronger. Just not 1-shotting Ragnaros levels of stronger.
I would love a expansion, more focused on Azeroth.
Not going to a island or a different planet again, please
I will add to what Amonet already wrote:
Create 2 different stories, for the Alliance and the Horde, all focused on rebuilding, what was lost.
For example a raid that involves, the Alliance players taking back Gnomeran and at the end of the expansion, the City is back in to Gnomes hands as a city.
The Horde retreats from Gilneas, but a rebel Worgen leader decides to take the chance and make the city his new HQs. Now the Alliance players have to raid the city and clear it out. At the end of the expansion Gilneas becomes a Alliance city.
For the Horde, it could be something similar to what happened to the Zandalari during BFA: internal conflicts.
- Princess Talanji, having to deal, with discontent amongst her people and having to prove, she’s the rightful heir to the Zandalari throne.
- Defending Silvermoon from a second undead invasion, because the defenses in Silvermoon became weaker due to many soldiers being taken away or lost in multiple Horde campaigns.
- Helping retake Suramar from any insurgents that still linger in the city and by the end of the expansion it becomes a Horde city.
In summary: An expansion that actually focus on building things rather than destroying them, al the time
Cheers.
And that’s your opinion, and if you are allowed to tailor YOUR gameplay, how you want it, well, then I will support you 100%
The problem comes for me, when I am denied playing how “I” want to play, because other players don’t like it…
My very simplistic view here, is you pay my sub, you can dictate my playstyle.
However Blizzard generally doesn’t think like that, eventually if I wait long enough I can experience all PVE content in game, how I like. I may have to wait, and I may not have access to certain time gated rewards, and you know what…I am okay with that, it’s fair.
I do have challenge in my game, because I RP, and we use a dice rolling system where RNG can really wreck you, despite your strength and talent. However in game, I like to stroll through old content, and feel like John Wick.
However horses for courses, if that wrecks your personal immersion I am all for buttons and options to tailor your individual game.
Well we can’t both have what we want in this respect.
I can’t dictate your playstyle at all. All I can do is offer my suggestions and discussion. If you don’t like that opinion that’s fine, and we can discuss that, but don’t drag your subscription into it. It won’t change my mind.
The problem is your ability to do that is wrecking all those expansions straight-up. How many players do you think exist out there who tried WoW and said “Wow, I really like Pandaria, I’m gonna go play some of that” and then they hadn’t unlocked Chromie time and they can’t go there and then when they can go there the whole thing’s broken by Chromie time, and then once they get out of Chromie time the whole thing gets one-shot. He can’t do the raids like they used to be, he can’t do the dungeons like they used to be, and overall he’s just having a miserable experience.
Oooh but he could just tune them up for himself and then it’s all fine, right? No, it’s not, he’s just gimping his character and the rewards he gets are no good. Oh, so we’ll just buff the rewards then, right? But now the world is broken - there is a complete disconnect between the player and the world; and all of it just because you want to 1-shot things.
Nobody says it has to be hard. I certainly haven’t argued for that. But you should not be able to solo Lei Shen for example. It is utterly ridiculous.
It is utterly ridiculous.
You are absolutely right, it is…
I have been playing for 15 years, according to lore and the enemies and storylines I have bested I am more than a god now…
Yet every expansion I go into a world where normal wild creatures can tear me a new one…
I understand that Blizzard’s mechanics aren’t great, but I do resent the fact that players with this issue can then impact my game.
I agree they need to refine/tune the mechanics so people can experience the game as they would like. As long as they leave the option to 1-shot as well for people like me.
I don’t think that’s too much to ask, and if you can’t solo content then that actually locks content for people who can ONLY play solo. Which is me, to be honest.
The reason I want to 1-shot and I WANT a purely enjoyable and relaxing experience is because real life circumstances mean I can’t play group content. Again, never been a problem in WOW as the majority can be solo-ed.
Again, only my opinion, and you won’t change mine, and respect and acknowledge I won’t change yours either, and the cool thing is we don’t need to.
Hopefully there will be options/systems put in place to please all gamers
He’s not wrong, make a mecha gnome or a goblin with survival hunter and engineering and you essentially have a Tinker, and you can’t say its not even close especially after suggesting Dark Rangers are just MM hunter (it may of not been you who said this) but it applies all the same.
Total War: Azeroth.
Something like this
Twillight cult with a little bit of void here and there…
with scarlet crusade vs undead
and something where we can reuse MOP because i love that expansion : D
I think he IS wrong. It’s not the tinker I’d want.
I want turrets to put down and a mech suit and syringes to heal with and all that jazz.
Each to their own.
That’s because storytelling is awful in this game, and the player-character of an MMORPG should never become a godlike entity whose role is central to the lore.
But that’s another discussion.
Absolutely you are in your right to think that, just like I and others are right to think the classes we want have not been justified properly.
Turrets and mech suits will never happen anyway as it’s too much work for Blizz to design a class like that that can stand on its own 2 feet.
i honstly dont care. after complete fiasco of storytelling in DF i dont belive that current team can deliver any semi-good story in 11.0/
i dont even know or care what current patch is about - thats how bad their stories are in DF. they should fire whole writing department bottom to top managment and hire new people .
you might hate how cliche stories were in DF and beginign of SL - but there was at least something there.
now ? elements ! dragons ! crazy dragons ! lbgt dragons ! save them !
and the deliverance of that story is sooooo bad compared to for example leveling experience of WoD . its crazy thats its the same game . what went wrong?
Completely different writing team, it’s as simple as that really.
