What drew you in to the race you roleplay?

Forsaken ladies because they’re the closest thing WOW has to a goth gf

And as they say; if you can’t get a goth gf, pretend to be the goth gf on fantasy roleplaying forums.

it just hurts thinking about why I went high elf… :face_exhaling:

Same why I love Draenei: you can do many with them. If I wouldn’t be on the alliance side, I’d go with orcs probably

Werewolves are cool.

Look at this energy and tell me you wouldn’t want to bring that IC.

But seriously, a lot of the greatest storytelling and lore of Warcraft has featured orcs. Eventually I had my eyes opened to that, and I haven’t really looked elsewhere for a favourite race since then.

In ten characters etc.

thank you for your service

Proving people wrong :fire:

Also; to play an idiot and STILL get away with it. :fire::sparkles:

I can genuinely just do the stupidest things and it can all be in character, that’s what I love the most about goblins!

Goth aesthetic (as an undead player, which Cro used to be/still is)

A mixture of aesthethic and their lore working with the type of character I wanted to play! It turns out me AM that kind of Orc…

I also have a Pandaren Shaman alt and again, for the same reasons! Firstly their lore and traits work nicely with the concept I wished to play and secondly I think they look great.

I’m a ‘type of character I want to RP’ first kind of guy and when I have that figured out, I explore which race will fit nicely to it considering lore and choose based on aesthetic preference!

Is it culture, lore, appearance, architecture, zone, faction, etc?

World of warcraft dwarves as a whole race, from Bronzebeards to Dark iron and the hillbillies have always been one of the coolest aspects in terms of races to me, just due to the variety of dwarfness and history. I think without a doubt it’s one of my top 3’s in terms of dwarves in a fantasy genre I’ve come across.

However Dark Iron especially is my favourite dwarf clan, A clan renowned for its craftsmanship and sorcery, Enslaved by a demi-god of fire that instilled a drive of destruction and hate which undoubtedly changed their culture even further, only for their fates to twist further when said demi-god was defeated and their brows beat, just for a foreign Queen-regent to lead them out the depth and into a position of strength again (or at least attempt to).

I quite like how apart they are from the rest of the clans, I adore their aesthetics and I enjoy the more antagonistic side they have to them, their architecture of a broken mountain home in a volcano, an industrial broken ashen wasteland surrounding it, it’s just all :ok_hand: :volcano: .

I just think they’re neat There was a lot to enjoy in the relatively blank slate of Vulpera and their nature as travelers that were curious and daring enough to crawl through a dungeon to unearth its secrets, or traders eager to meet new peoples. Some small lore tidbits were added along the way, which helped. Playing the underdog def had a certain appeal to it too!

All of it and the characters like Tyrande, Malfurion, Illidan, Shandris, Maiev, Jarod, Azshara, Xavius, Vashj, Cenarius, Ravencrest… And later on Mordent, Sira, Delaryn, Farondis, etc etc

Also their “Orders” are awesome aswell! Moon Guard, the Watchers, the Wardens, the Illidari, the Rooks Guard, Cenarion Circle, the Sisterhood of Elune, the Shen’dralar… You name it!
