What happens after classic?

Hi im hoping to get a blue post reply but im not holding my breath.
wanted to know what happens after wow classic theres only so far you can take it…
will you make it so we can transfer our characters and all achievements etc over to retail or are you just going to end it and that will be it or do you keep going and going untill you catch up to retail and end up calling it reatail 2.0…
i understand why you cant transfer characters from sod but there will be nothing stopping you doing it on the other classic era realms.
people should have the choice to transfer out of classic and into retail at any point otherwise whats the point of playing classic the servers will die eventually and all the time and effort put into these characters will be for nothing…

Is this Blizzard Fanprosa?

The point of playing Classic is to play CLASSIC! And with this I mean play my fave expansion(s) forever.

This why I say: Give us Era servers to all expansions of Classic. 2 (or better 3 - 1of each PvE, PvP and RP) of each: TCB, Wrath and when that time come Cata Classic! Just like we have already for Vnilla Classic. If we can also have one HC server to each … even more better!

I don’ think even Blizzard knows at this point. They will keep re-releasing old expansions while there is enough interest in them. I think there will be enough interest in MoP. For WoD I don’t really know but there will be enough interest for Legion. So WoD could be waiting room for Legion. After Legion I don’t think there will be enough interest to replay BfA or Shadowlands. At that point there will be renewed interest in vanilla, TBC and WOTLK so they could re-release those.
IMO it should stop shortly after Cata with some content from MoP and Legion.

everything you get will be reset/invalidated, it was all for nothing in the end

Classic WoW Era, will never be resetted. It is a permanent server. Just like OSRS. You can level a character, do some raids, and in a year, that character will still be relevant.

No, it won’t be invalidated, it will become like Classic Era now - permanent realms with no new content. We just don’t know the expansion when that will happen.

Yes, everything will be invalidated at some point when Microsoft goes bankrupt, they decide to shut down the game or nuclear war destroys all the servers and no backup remains.

Dude, I feel your concern, but let’s keep it real here. Blizzard’s got a lot on their plate, and while they might not always respond to every fan query, they’re definitely thinking ahead. Classic WoW is a blast from the past, no doubt, but you’re right, there’s only so far you can take it before things start feeling stale.

As for transferring characters to retail, hey, that could be a game-changer. Imagine taking your Classic badass and bringing them into the modern world of WoW. It’s like leveling up in real life, bro. But hey, Blizzard’s gotta figure out the logistics, make sure it’s fair for everyone involved.

And yeah, the whole point of playing Classic is to relive those epic moments, but servers do die eventually. It’s the circle of MMO life, my dude. But who knows, maybe Blizzard’s got some tricks up their sleeve to keep the Classic experience alive and kicking. We just gotta trust in the process, bro.

Blizzard doesn’t know what to do so they just keep it going for now, they hope everyone quits and forgets about it when they make Draenor Classic

Saw in some interview that its totaly possible they will allow to transfer from classic to retail.
Most likely when classic progression realms drop to low at sub numbers

What happens after Classic? I cancel my subscription again

There are enough other games out there.
I certainly don’t play a game (retail) that I don’t really want to play.

Hopefully a fresh vanilla/TBC/wrath server with proper moderation, no bots, RMT or gdkps :open_mouth:

new servers do not prevent bots: see sod.
