I like the idea of having Hardcore servers as well. I’ll try and list what I would like to have on a HC official server.
- Death
a. Death = Spirit (no release spirit button or accept resurrection of any form)
They can remove the world resurrection spirits and only allow anks, soulstones, battle and normal res, as well as res items to be used in BG and 40man Raid instances. That way you can also pvp and have raid progress on a Hardcore server.
b. Bubble+HS, Light of Elune+HS… can be fixed by making HS a 15 sec cast - AH, trade and mail
a. Allow Auction House (maybe make AH cut 50%)
b. Allow Trade and mail (disable money trading/sending)
c. Item drops in open world above green are BoP (this cuts drastically in the AH and Trade but it is a good anti-farming, anti-botting option) - PvP and griefing
a. enable/disable activation allowed only in Ogrimmar and SW (transfers caracter on PvP layer)
b. if a mob loses all aggro on tag caracter it should evade to full health and back to his spot (less griefing posssibility)
c. all mobs evade back to their spot after 100 yards of chase (no more guards killing your elite mobs) - Dungeons
a. 1 Dungeon lockout per Day
b. Item drops become BoP when the player exits the dungeon
c. Entrance check: Only allowed to enter if you meet the level Requirement writen on the Meeting Stone (ex. Wailing Caverns Level 17-24), once entered you get saved to the instance and can reenter the same instance even if you have dinged meanwhile, until the next day when Instance lockout gets reset
d. No more leave group and get ported out (unless in 40man Raids or BGs) - Buffs
a. Druid, Mage, Priest… buffs only allowed while grouped for your party members (buff is removed when you exit the party)
b. World Buffs only allowed on level 60 caracters - Achievements
Make achievements for everything else and allow the players to restrict their own game play as much as they want to (ex: no mailbox, no trade, no AH, no deaths first time in Ony, MC or BWL, no deaths in BG, leveling while PvP enabled, only 1 of each dungeon per caracter) - NO Appeals
I think some of those rules would fix alot of problems and make it alot of fun for the HC community. Also it could be easy to implement it cause alot of the code exists in the retail or it existed before. (dungeon lockouts, pvp enabling, achievements…)
