What if there was a version of wow, where you cant use addons?

I wouldn’t mind, really. There’s a few addons I use, but nothing I couldn’t live without.

there is a version, its called ‘Don’t install adds’

The bad UI is my main gripe with the game. The actual gameplay and the UI are words apart. Current UI is simply not functional for current game.

I do not think the devs are lazy. And let’s be honest this is very hard issue to fix, requiring hours of multiple teams.

… but it needs to be done. This will only get worse and be a barrier for new players to entry.

I suppose it depends on the content you do. I manage completely fine with the base UI (and have done so for many years).

I find that most addon UIs make the game look completely out-of-character, which breaks my immersion like nothing else. Seeing those ugly modern sleek blocks and bars; nothing ‘fantasy’ about them.

If no one was able to use addons in WoW i’d think that’s a good thing. I know there’s so much brain automation coming from addons and everyone loves them for that reason, and also there’s indepth information that simply can’t be percieved without them but I’ll take mystery and the rough nature of things anyday over playing arena with a blindfold listening to gladiatorlossa.

There would be a lot less healers than there already is.

Sorry I think that assumption is ridiculous. Why would there be less healers if people like playing healers? it’s not relatable.

Because the default UI sucks for healing.

Yeah the new UI updates for DF didn’t really make me enjoy it more either.

I feel like the main argument against addons is the raiding helping addons. Sure, just disable the ability to track boss mechanics in addons. Why does it have to be a whole WoW without addons?

Hello everyone. I will try to be brief, addons are ruining the competitiveness in the game. And a lot of friends of mine quit the game, partly because they are tired of spending half their day updating and reinstalling addons. The addons kill the competitiveness, and play for you, and downloading them is a big waste of time, you are not actually playing anymore, the addons are playing for you. WOW should ban addons permanently and if necessary, instead, the game can add a few options at settings, accessible to anyone, that can change the game a bit if needed. In short, having an advantage above other players just because one has addons is unfair and ruins the competitiveness and kills time. Optimistically speaking, I hope things will be improved in the future. Thanks for your time everybody and good luck to all of ya :).

Idk… The only addon I’d try out the game without is the Damage meters. I think m+ might be a much less toxic experience without them. Even with timers.

Allot less performance pressure but still a timer everybody has to worry about. Everybody still needs to do their damage and their kicks and mechanics. But the DPS meters make everybody compete with each other in it.

Reason I think this is well. I don’t think have a damage meeter that tells everybody how much damage and kicks somebody does saves any keys anyway. It does make people feel crap however and stressed out. And makes people anxious.

The only redeeming quality I see in a DPS meter is if your a crap player. It will tell you how worse off than the others you are and that you are doing something wrong. And might give you a nudge that something needs to be addressed.

Another downside to removing the DPS meter is allot of people would definetely loose allot of the adrenaline and ‘‘Ompfh’’ Ness they get out of a mythic run. When their not motivated by being the best in the group anymore infront of everyone else.

I’m just a drunk fox though. What do I know
