What if there was a version of wow, where you cant use addons?

Then you are just playing a spec that does not require buff/debuff tracking. Like fire mage with blessing of the sunking. You need to track your amount of stacks and then the buff that allows you to hardcast pyroblast into a proc of combust.
The basic UI gives 0 response of the 15 seconds opportunity for this combust proc.

On this toon I’m playing a heavy bleeding/poison assa spec and I just use my brain/eyes, it’s more fun to me than waiting for the computer to tell me what to do.

Well i am happy you can use your eyes for your spec. But for fire mage there is nothing to see. You can have the best eyes and brain in the world, but it is impossible to know without a weak aura.

The weak aura is also not telling you what to do. It is only telling you you got the opportunity in the next 15 seconds.

I agree that it makes things convenient. However “it is impossible to know” is just wrong.

Your Sun King’s Blessing buff along with your hot streaks counter appear in your buffs bar, you can look them up or count them as you use them, it’s not that hard.

It is not realistic.

Try to watch it (the buffs) for a minute or so. The buff is not even all the time on the same line of the buffs.

Used to play that in SL with no WA. Idk how it’s now, but in SL it was every 6/8 casts, don’t recall exactly, but I used to count them. It’s not like you have to also do quantum physics. It’s counting.

Doing the same as arcane mage now with Radiant spark. It’s not that hard as people think.

For me it is unplayable without a visible counter and a WA with the cooldown of the proc. They both fall off so often, it is not trackable for my small brains.

Eh, some have easier time with it than others.

Not everyone can keep track of all that stuff ‘‘easily’’. I’m sure I could do it to an extent, just by being able to memorize the icons and where it applies.

I am focussing on the content/mechanics/etc

But like i said. I admit defeat. I am not smart enough to be able to play fire mage. But that also means i need to go support the topics that the game is too hard.

I’ve always healed without add-ons on my Priest and will continue to do so.

Only thing I change is the action Bars. But Blizzard seems to be doing a “decent” job on that part for what I need at least.

Isn’t that going on in ‘all’ pulls in M+? You want to interrupt 1, stun 2, damage 3, dodge 4. etc. It sounds like you customized your UI that you can not see the castbars of non targetted mobs.

But we all got our problems. I already admitted i am not good enough to pay attention to specific buffs in the top right corner. Others told me here to use eyes and brain and that it is easy.

no i do have the cast bars visible but sometimes if everyone takes a metric ton of dmg you can lose focus of that cast bar.
And yeah we also have auto marker addons to speed up the marking to give everyone an interrupt.
imagine marking manually every mob group… guess more fun for the healer or tank

I understand you get overwhelmed as healer that you try to heal your but off to get the group through the pull that you miss a cast going off.

The only addon I care about from those “game play” related ones is MDT. It is great for me as a tank. Makes my life so much easier.
But lets get real. Not having addons will remove a quality of life improvements for me:

• Scrap & Postal
• Handy notes
• Better wardrobe and Transmog
• Auto Turn In & Speedy Auto Loot
• Movie Skip & Be Quiet
• Annoying pop-up remover & Auto delete
• Threat plates & Tiny Tooltip

Without these addons I will just unsubscribe.

Lets say another version separated from the main game as an experiment or permanent. Maybe UI addons would be allowed, so the game doesnt look so ugly. Would you play it? im personally annoyed by the amount of addons I need to play efficiently. I think it would open better pve content development and made pvp interesting, because ppl couldnt see cds and track every second of your every step.
