A boy can only try.
Maybe both sides are enjoying it.
Itâs an entertaining thread for sure.
Take that back.
I do think itâs not ideal and can expose player to harassment, but in itself is not bad. Harassment is bad.
I see it as a necessary evil since it has become a widespread tactic to hide on alts, and even sympathize with the idea that the PCU would want to look on check-PvP when they recruit someone to make sure heâs not a bad actor.
However I take issue the moment players insinuate that I am âa creepâ for doing something that is far below the level of what your group have been doing for years.
I also stated that people donât have to, but as long as they donât they should not use this lack of transparency to gaslight others and create a false narrative - thatâs the problem. Itâs a sum of bad things, one on top of the other.
Yet here you are doing the same that you claim others doing, trolling every thread that you set your eyes on lol, you guys talk about self awareness alot huh
Itâs a sensible thing for any GM to do. PCU or otherwise.
And why is that bad?
A legitimate question - have you ever been a GM or an officer, Zaphius? Do you know how much effort goes into recruiting people, how much effort you put into recruitment IC all-together, just to have that person sit AFK in your guild for 7 days and then ninja-leave? Or even leave the next morning after recruitment RP has concluded? Or the fact that the person is a very all-knowing drama queen that will recede your hairline as an officer or GM, so therefore you do not want them in your guild?
I refuse! This is much too entertaining!

Was that a fart in a windstorm? I swear I heard somethingâŚ
No one did that though, itâs just a strawman they use. Just look back at the discussion: I excluded like what, 4-6 people?
In this thread alone after 12h? Nah, Iâd say itâs not a small group. Iâd say at this point thereâs like 30/35 people-ish of the PCU who posted here. And yes, itâs quite a huge amount.
I mean I do sympathize with the idea: I can see why they do it and that it is necessary (these days) to keep an healthy guild!
That is to point out that I donât have a problem with using check-pvp per se, but only when it is used for purposes which lack any form of fairness.
As far Iâm aware itâs happened alot more than once(quite common actually) that people will try to join guilds the view as ârivalsâ or otherwise guilds they dislike, and then try to tarnish the reputation or cause drama.
Also common is kicked members trying to re-join on alts, or people joining to try and stalk someone else. Check-PvP is a blessing to deal with that as itâs very common.
all ive heard in this thread is https://youtu.be/1VWIxvhDU8g
Great to see such an engaged and active community in this day and age.
Oh no thatâs racist. Are you in the PCU?
Then whatâs the debate with that? I canât check pvp potential recruits then or?
Afaik theres only 1 person in this thread who check pvped people in order to doxx them and then flag it as âcommunity serviceâ, who also
was the famous person for that, who did that not that long ago in the north RP scene.
And trust me when I say it Zaphius - that person is not in the PCU
Yeah, thatâs my point. They have a much more beneficial lie that they could use but didnât.
Iâm half tempted to ask for The List Mark 2 at this point.
The key word in the quoted post was relatively. If the PCU is as big as it should reasonably be the threshold for how many of them it would take for them to be brigading the thread rises. For example one guild brigading a thread would be, letâs say 5 members from said guild. For the PCU however the size of it based on the concept would make 5 posters a drop in the metaphorical ocean.
