The token is literally P2W for a game you are paying to play. It is unacceptable as simple as that. It gives a P2W advantage. I’m ok with cosmetics, but token should be out of discussion.
Yes i know, i am troll
I honestly hate the cash shop. Like I said before, I was an idiot in Retail and used it a few times for boosts. If I could get that WASTED money back, I would. I’d love to go back and play Classic/TBC/WoTLK as it was, but it’s impossible now due to the community being so different.
Part of the reason I know it’s inevitable is Mage dungeon boosts. A lot of those Mages are making so much gold they’re able to sell it for IRL money and Blizzard will want to stop that by adding the WoW Token in. They don’t want that juicy profit going to a player when it can go to them.
This playerbase is BiS in the gaming market, I swear. They demand more and more chance to spend their money, in a paid game, with paid expansions, with monthly sub price. Good consumers, I’m proud of you. Blizzard literally changed not just the game mechanics over the past years, but the playerbase’s mentality as well. kek
I’m not a fan of it either, but you understand Blizzard well enough to know they’re probably thinking about it or have the date set already. I applaud that. At least not everyone is blind to Blizzard’s greed.
Do we really need to state why RMT is bad for the game? Or are you trolling?
- Token wouldn’t work for TBCC. Gold is too important it would make it more p2w than retail.
- More mounts? Maybe, either way I don’t care much about them.
- Faction change? Maybe, a lot of level 60 horde wants to play alliance due to shorter queue times in PVP… It could potentially even out the population gap for PVP which would be a good thing.
- Class change? Don’t think this is very likely.
- Race change? Maybe, I wouldn’t mind it that much…
There you go, as long as token wont get added I will still play the game. And I think that wont happen.
Have you ever thought Blizzard might be trying to get this whole Classic-Era over and done with as quickly as possible? They were against doing it in the first place. Look at all the fuss that was kicked up to actually get them to do it. They saw p-servers had large player bases and thought “oh…that’s x amount of people who’d re-sub if we did classic”.
That’s why they don’t care what the community thinks about the souless cash grabs. I believe they’re using Classic and TBC/WoTLK to try and funnel players back into the awful retail version of the game by showing them “Hey, look, we’ll put our shop in Classic too if you try run from it”.
Maybe J Allen was right when he said “You think you do, but you don’t” not because he thought we had rose tinted goggles on, but because he knew they’d turn it into the same p2w crap as retail…
Add wow token please.
Token is a given as soon as Blizz start monitoring all the gold buying happening now for mage/ pal boosting and soon T4 content GDKP spam.
That is part of my thinking behind it. There is no way Blizzard will see all that money being spent through 3rd party gold websites when they can just add the WoW Token and suck up all that profit themselves. Community opinion doesn’t even cross their mind. As soon as I saw the boost and deluxe edition of the game, I knew this whole Classic version of the game is nothing more than a cash grab. They lured us in with Classic having no shop and now they’ll slowly introduce more until it’s no different from retail when it comes to the cash shop…
Personally, I find the very notion of a cash shop in a subscription-based game abhorrent, but hey that’s just me. And I know that no matter what happens, cash shops are here to stay.
I don’t understand why people are feeling entitled to tell people how to spend their money but to break your bubble, no one cares about your sad life.
Tbc is not classic, if you wanna have classic experience stay on classic and don’t join tbc, simple as.
Don;t you understand for freak sake. We don’t want tokens in the game because it ruins the game for EVERYONE. I couldn’t care less what other people buy, as long as it does not affect me or everyone else NEGATIVELY. Get that inside your thick skull already. No one, literally NO ONE cares what other people do with their own money.
We want to play TBC. If you don’t like TBC, go to RETAIL where u have all the tokens and microtransactions in the world. TBC is not retail. If you wanna have retail experience go play retail and don’t join TBC, simple as that.
And btw, it’s TBCC = The burning crusade CLASSIC. And yes, we want to play CLASSIC.
Yup. They are greedy but “we” (as in your average Classic player) are good clients. No reason to stop here. If the majority of the playerbase was not in a p2w mindset buying boosts (from mages, blizz or otherwise), and gear (GDKP) we would not be here today.
If it’s profitable AND managable, Blizz/Activision will add this feature. There’s nothing more to it.
And btw people are way too sensitive on this forum. Can’t you just accept that your opinion is not everyone else’s opinion? Is there no way for a civil discussion here? If I don’t agree with you I’m an obvious troll that wants the end of all good things in WoW, right? Geez, calm down people.
How is this ruining your experience ? Tell me. And how is buying boosts from mages and afking better? Don’t spread your misery towards others just because you are poor or you want the things that suit your personal preference.
Many people bought the boost and they enjoy it because we have families, responsibilities and so on and we don’t need to validate ourselves by spending 8h afking in the dungeon so we can fap later how difficult it was to level up XD
Maybe they are working on a option to pay 10 bucks to make the daily pvp quest available daily…
I’d say: name change (this was added October 2007 in TBC so it’s almost a given) - Pets and mounts most likely.
Probably some more toys or whatever nothing that should impact the game play in terms of power or advantage though.
If they start adding that I have no problems calling it out.
Can you not use that tired old excuse?
“Don’t like a cash shop? Oh you’re just poor” - It’s such an asinine way to look at it. Muppet.
