What is next for the TBC cash shop?

How do you know I am poor? Stop making assumptions, because you have 0 clue. And also, flexing that you have money says a lot about you as a person. I would say more words to you but I would get banned on the forums. Still, with that attitude I’m sure you have 0 friends irl.

To prove that you have 0 clue and don’t even know on which planet you are living on, I also bought the boost.

Aren’t you tired of people validating themselves in a video games instead of enjoying time with friends or family?

Mate, I could care less what your opinion is now. You have 3 posts at the time of typing this. The fact you’ve switched to a character you don’t use these forums on shows me you’re either a troll or refuse to stand behind what you say on your main forum character.

Damn I love how you avoid answering questions you don’t like and stick to the ones you like.It makes such a great convo

First change will be boost changed to all characters on account, and all races. That’s likely to come in a few months.

Second change most likely boost extended to level 70.

WoW tokens will make an appearance, probably around December, or around that general Christmas period.

Very likely there will also be some kind of ‘Attunement Passport’ too, where players can buy their way past TBCs lengthy attunements.

Going forward over the long term, it’s only a matter of time until buyable gear, items and rep are made available in retail. We can probably expect to see epic gear, raid consumables, trade mats, honour and reputation tokens being made available in the cash shop by the time the next expansion rolls around.

So, I’m guessing that WotLK Classic may tentatively begin to introduce the same stuff. Expect to see a great big BLIZZARD SHOP icon somewhere on the WotLK interface, that cannot be removed through mods, selling epic loot, raid consumables, trade mats, honour tokens, rep tokens, buyable gold, instant L80 boosts, mounts, pets, cosmetics, and in-game services.

What’s more the ‘community’ will absolutely applaud these cash shop services, praising them to the skies, and attacking anyone who disagrees. They’ll be so quick and eager to open their wallets that their credit cards will be a blur.

Blizzard had a pretty hard stance on no p2w things in cash shop apart from the level boost. Which can be argued if it is p2w or not. So kinda doubt we will see that.

This part will probably never happen, since it’s not even available to boost to max level on retail.

Oh you poor, sweet, innocent summer child.

68 boost will come with wotlk classic. But ye. They never let you go max level in current content.

More you being way to scared for your own good.

Yep, level 68 boost would come with WOTLK.

They’re basically monetising the hell out of the game as much as they can.
We can likely see 2-3 mounts each year, if not more in classic as well.
Since the deluxe edition sold so well xD.

While I’m not a fan of these paid services, you are fully entitled to purchase them as you see fit, and I would not treat you better or worse for it as long as you were decent in any dealings with me. You enjoy the stuff, more power to you.

However, in my opinion it is wrong to bring IRL wealth into the conversation, as it is to bring RL family and responsibilities. Many people here, myself included, can afford to get these services, but choose not to because we feel that they go against the spirit of Classic (and whether you like it or not, TBCC is part of Classic). And it feels ethically wrong to me as well - less fortunate people don’t need to be reminded of their financial problems when discussing their favorite hobby.

As for RL responsibilities… It seems to me that raiding, rep grinding, arenas et al are much more demanding when it comes to consistent time spent. You could play half an hour a day and eventually get to max level… But could you raid? Could you do arenas? Could you even do 5-mans?

EDIT: I can understand one wanting it if they don’t enjoy leveling though.

Just to make it clear, I’m not trying to judge you or anything (I have no right to do so), you have every right to do what you like as long as you’re not harming others. I just think that bringing up RL wealth and responsibilities won’t really help your case.

What a troll thread, I wish they’d just add all the crap of the day to it and turn it into retail and be done with it. Better yet, just shut down Classic altogether.

You don’t like the cash shop, but you want something in the game for selfish reasons and you don’t care, we get it. History repeating, as usual and forever.

Why would they add this to TBC when you can’t even boost to max in retail?

Why would they do that? The people who don’t want to raid will NEVER bother with doing the attunement in the first place let alone PAY for it, and they would never be in a guild that had raiding in mind at all.

Again why would they add something that isn’t even in retail? Think you are confusing warmane and BCC here.

What do you mean ‘why would they do that’?

Presumably you’re labouring under the misapprehension that Activision/Blizzard are some kind of lovely altruistic public service that create products only to bring joy to little one’s faces?

Newsflash: They’re a massive, multinational corporation who exist to make huge profits, and have proven time after time that there is no end to their greedy, exploitative business practices when it comes to milking players for as much money as humanly possible.

Why would they do that?.. because fools will get out their credit cards and pay for it… that’s why.

And yet with everything added to retail has been way within the bounds of “Cosmetics, Mounts, Pets, and convenience ie: name change, character transfer, boost to last expansions max level or close to it and so forth”

They have yet to cross the line of actually adding items or gear that will affect your character in anyway. (not that I can remember at the top of my head anyway)

I’m going by what I have seen them do, not your wild imagination of them being greedy goblins (one could argue that Bobby Kotic is a greedy goblin, but that’s a different discussion altogether)

And if there ever is a time when blizzard decides to go full P2W I have no problems telling them where to shove it and taking my money elsewhere. But mounts/pets/toys don’t bother me one bit.

Token would be great now. Also alow more boost please.

Well, I have to agree with you on 1 point, I shouldn’t have mentioned the wealth aspect for those with financial problems, you are right.

Personal circumstances do matter as they shape the reality of both sides as I’m assuming we all want to enjoy the game in our specific ways.

As for the classic experience itself, when classic was launched it didn’t look as it is now, we had no idea how to play it, what to do and our mission was to explore endless possibilities.

Classic survived mostly because of the community and believe it or not role play part of the game as wow belongs to mmoRPGS, the second part was the most important.

Min-maxing and fulfilling ourselves with funny aspects is an invention of private servers, years after classic was released.

And with all due respect I simply find it funny and illogical when people who were 2 or 3 years old when classic was released, are trying to tell me how it was and what they have achieved when they barely know how to eat or walk.

I really dislike people who are basing their experience on private servers boosting their egos in such a weird manner.

I would like to be able to play the game as I want without having to explain myself why I bought a boost or not.

As for the time managing mentioned, well this is the reason I bought the boost in the first place, I want to jump straight to honor farming, I want to play arenas with some friends who are still playing and I would need only 2 reps (1 can be reached with marks ) so I will manage in a certain time.I don’t think I will be raiding as it simply too time-consuming but if I had to level up, I would be spending the first 2-3 weeks of my time grinding while I can simply enjoy the aspects I like straight away.

The fact that they have not crossed that line yet does not indicate that they will not cross that line at a future date. Why wouldn’t they? Their history is one long catalogue of them crossing every line they ever drew.
