It takes a healer who understands it as well. I was fortunate that when I did so proper during Legion I had a healer who worked with me a lot, so they knew that iād be needing healing about 6-9 secs into a pack rather than near the start, the point when I stop chomping my ironskin so hard and look to cleanse off my big stagger and recover brews.
It still works quite well with Conflict and Strife because it allows you to keep the stagger high until you want it to start ticking or cleanse it, resulting in a more controlled way of stacking a big stagger to dump for DPS. Not the best setup min-max wise, but perfectly usuable in the right hands.
Works very well with Resto druids as only a couple of HOTS can keep you up so long as youāre BoCing with Ironskin and the druid can focus on DPS to bring the pack down a bit or soften them all up by spreading DOTs before returning to healing focus when your Ironskin charges run low about 9 secs in.
Well You have cheat death talents, essences etc, but some of those fights we single tanked already at early on. Then we have fights that force you to have 2 tanks even when techically other tanks role is to die to boredom. Dres is one of those. Only reason you have 2nd tank is that the thing wouldnāt grip people at random and have someone on melee all time. Or in hivemind it is all about the mid phase where bosses have to be apart. Otherwise the bosses do not do too much damage on their own. On ilgy this depends on your dps and tank class if and how many breaths they take. DH tank for example can take 5 in mythic. In raden you have artificial HP reduction as damage intake is not big, but hp reduction is a problem at end, hence 2nd tank looks pretty most times.
