I would love to see the source, that this is the last faction war expansion. Not because I do not believe you, but because in one of the last Interviews Blizzard stated that this conflict is still the integral part of WoW.
Can’t post links :-/ The interview was printed on wowhead or forbes. Or both…
Hazzikostas: Honestly I think that’s [PvE Merc Mode] extremely unlikely for a few reasons. The Alliance-Horde divide is something that’s integral to Warcraft. It’s integral to the franchise, to the world, integral to World of Warcraft.
Honestly?
I believe it will be Baine. But I want someone who not need the approval of Thrall, or Saurfang or those Alliance superboy.
WW1 was started by leaders of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Without the help of the first, the latter would have done squat. So, both are equally guilty and known to have started the war. Vienna also seized the opportunity to destroy its Balkan rival Serbia. And we all know what happened then.
I would assume that Blizzard uses titbits from real life war scenarios for WoW. They just need to copy. Easy. Fast. Cost-effective. Why dream up scenarios when you have tons of history books to copy from?
That is a very misleading description. Well, to me it is. No, was, since it has been explained. Thank you.
However, I am pleased that Taurajo was finally laid to rest. Hopefully, it will retain its peace. Well, with a warchief like Baine it would. So… lifts her morning coffee cup
I do not want to contribute to the whole guilt descussion but It is quite bizarre hove some peope justify horrible actions by pointing out that the other side started…
Japan ambushed US in WW2. But it does not justify 2 atomic bombs.
Germans did horrible crimes in WW2 but it does not justify napalming Dresden or raiding Berlin.
ALL of this cities were “legetimate” targets. Does it make the crimes on their civilists justified? No! And do not try to argue with “breaking the will” to “prevent” more losses.
Literally nobody would give a n f about Baine being Warchief.
“Sylvannas you betray the Horde!”
Literally just continue what you do and ignore what Baine says.
Thats how much gravity Baine has. Unless the Warchief position is someone with an ironclad rule, it wont work. And Baine just is too little for the position…
The Horde needs a council of sorts. That way it would be easier to prevent a 3rd rebellion lol
Well, it’s easy to simply blame the Central Powers if you ignore the mess of alliances, the political instability of the time and the growing nationalism in European countries.
Blaming one person/country only strengthens Rangoor’s point though, so feel free to argue this.
They should start by blaming the ones that attacked them as some punitive measure caused by unrelated events those people had no control over.
And by extent, they should blame Baine too. He is the one that decided to excuse the aggressors, and punished his own subjects if they tried to retaliate.
Tauren should indeed hold him accountable for that particular incident.
Baine valued the relation with the Alliance, more than the one regarding the people he is supposed to represent.
To be honest, that’s what I have been reading in WoW forums, after a quick search I found a redit post and a pc gamer interview:
(Sorry can’t post links)
Alex Afrasiabi: We feel the Alliance-Horde divide is foundational and fundamental to World of Warcraft as a franchise and as a story, but we danced around it for a very long time. We’ve had run-ins, we’ve had close calls, but we’ve never been able to finish it—to have that resolution. We’re coming out of this expansion, Legion, and the world is not in a great place—the players and the factions themselves are not in a great place because there is all of this old animosity that hasn’t been resolved. It’s time to resolve it."
Reddit lore post:
“I wonder if anyone still remember that Blizzard intends to settle the faction conflict in BfA.”
There you go.
Maybe it’s just speculation, but think like this:
Everyone is calling BfA, MoP 2.0, so far these expansions were the only ones that the Alliance was at war with the Horde, will anyone want another one ?
I sure as hell don’t.
Not because I hate faction wars (I do), that’s not the point, but because Activision Blizzard has already made it clear in every faction war:
Horde will start it;
Horde will commit war crimes, example: Theramore and Teldrassil.
There will be internal conflict: Vol’Jin, Saurfang.
There will be mad Warchief: Garrosh, Sylvana’s.
The Alliance will help the Horde rebellion;
The Alliance will punish the mad Warchief and give a redemption chance to the Horde.
Urgs… did you read the next paragraph? It gets worse:
In terms of a threat, one of the things we talk about is, in Warcraft, do you take part of what you kill and become it? When we look at WoW, we’ve done so much with so many big external threats. We’ve taken out Old Gods, Dragon Aspects, Elemental Lords, the Lich King, Illidan—at least once, and pretty soon maybe a Titan. So when we talk about what’s the biggest threat in this world, is it the Titan or is it the Dwarf Paladin that put a hammer in that Titan’s head? We’ve got tens of thousands of almost-living gods [players] now running amok on this planet with very different ideologies. That seems insane but that also seems awesome to me. And that’s how this expansion was born.
Bow to me, mortals!
Who knows, maybe they are actually going for the “you were manipulated by the old gods the whole time!”-ending…
Sad, but no one will bow, as there are no mortals anymore. We all are special!
first: Thanks for searching. Quite funny how they counter their own states.
Well the WoW should ground its stories. I do not need an other dragon ball. And what would be better then the old “small scaled” world war between Horde and Alliance? This time for a real reason, like Climatechange in Eastern Kingdoms forcing alliance push into Kalimdor… Just for a change…
For me Saurfang play on alliance side, also Baine play on wrong side.
Sylvanas final plan will shine /with gold or purple color/ and she will stay as Horde leader.
Low-level conflict is inevitable, too many hotheads around on Azeroth. I cannot stop those outside our borders from committing atrocities. But those who would attempt another coup? Not while I’m Warchief!
EDIT: After the confirmation at least. I see nothing in 8.2 to bring me back, and I highly doubt 8.3 will bring more than a G[r]oT-esque ending to this xpac.
