What is the point in getting better gear?

I have pre-bis in every slot.

Now in raids/dungeons I have to “chill” more than the other player, basically going afk mid boss fights to not get threat from tank. I end up on same dps as low geared players due to this.

In pvp my pve talents are horrible, so I cant really enjoy my gear in pvp either.

So what is the point of someone like me wanting to get even better gear, cant use its potential in raids/dungeons or pvp.

??? Just spec pvp so you have lower pve dps and can enjoy pvp.

I mean I’d think that was logical enough.

You clearly need to find more like-minded players to do content with. You’re playing the game at a different pace to loads of other people, and that’s okay. If you enjoy it, then great. But playing with others who do things at a completely different pace can be frustrating. Which is why I suggest to find others with the same level of drive for the game as you do.

You have several options.

  1. raid with pvp spec. This way you will do less dmg and therfore less threat while beeing good in pvp
  2. use all availabe threat reduction talents/items
  3. urge your tanks to invest more talent points and gear slots into threat production
  4. ask a shaman for threat reduction totem in your grp

This is what happens when you roll the FotM class and rush though all the content as fast as possible, you end up with nothing to do when you realise you have to wait for everyone else to catch up anyway.

So when pvp hits…you can 2 shot everyone but feel amazing because you tell yourself you’re actually just a lot more skilled than they are :smiley: (i’m not being sarcastic, savor the moment :D)

Look the endgame for classic wow is duels, so that is the point of getting better gear.

Your solution literały cannot work in classic because of how threat works. But Hey #nochanges. Do just watch some Netflix while you have to afk :slight_smile: classic is such a good game

I’m pretty sure OP would see some manner of improvement in his game experience if he played with others who play at the same pace as he does.

Do you know how threat works? There are plenty of tanks out there that wont lose aggro when you go ham

Have druids combat res you, and overthreat the boss repeatedly every fight.

Or do as plenty of others have suggested and stop treating classic like a new retail expansion, you missed the point.

It’s about finding the right people. When all DPS in the group has the kind of gear OP likely has you dont even need to tank the skull mark. Can just nuke it down before it reach the group, giving the tank time to build threat on the rest of the group.

OP is just playing with people too far below his own gear leveling. Cant expect the tank to hold aggro like that.

So you are basically saying that you deal yoo much threat when your gear outshine the gear of others in your group/raid which is pretty much a common thing in wow since its birth (altho lately threat means nothing in legion/bfa)

I mean, its pretty normal to be the highest threat when YOU ARE INDEED the highest threat for an enemy with your insane damage.

Just remove 3 or 4 pieces of gear and you are fine if you dont wanna afk threat.

Once tanks get better gear they can start pumping out more threat too.
