That said, seeing how much pain he’s in in the cinematic, he did get severely injured when Xal’atath slammed him against the wall and fired all those shadowbolts at him. So it’d be more plausible (to me, at least) to see Xal’atath use him for info or as bait to try to draw Alleria (and by extension our player characters) into a trap by leaving breadcrumbs hinting that he’s alive and tempting us into going to rescue him.

I don’t want him to be dead because he’s a nice character, but I hope he’s dead because if he isn’t then it would be bad writing.
It was just an arm, he’ll be fine.
When they want to kill a character they do what they did to Varian.
That pet already exists, but sadly it’s very hard to get (RNG from some chest in Legion).

we literally saw his hand get disintegrated in the cinematic so no matter how they do it it would be an asspull and make Xal’atath look stupid which is not what you want for the potentially endboss of 3 whole expansions
That sounds like a clever twist.
Which is why I don’t expect that to be the case. Though him somehow being alive (I could see Medivh’s spirit pulling a fast one), I do expect.

Agreed I feel he should stay dead. Unless I’m right and xal is a fifth old god I don’t see her being the final boss of last titan. I feel well take her out this expac or midnight or before the last boss of last titan

Thought they were really cool back in TBC but they’ve never really done much with them. I would like to see more on them in game.
