My first thought aswell. Perhaps he’s dead but its easy enough to change and instead say that he was teleported along Xal’atath.
Its very debatable.
And he takes on a new name: Locus-Walker. Time travel shenanigans then ensue.
But what is Khadgar already died on Dreanor, and what we saw was just Xal removing her mirrage of him to push Alleria to the edge?
What if Alleria IS Xal’atath.
Meaning, Alleria becomes Xal in the future, Turalyon locks her into the blade as a last effort to save her, the blade time travels to the past and now Xal, which Alleria’s future is “meeting herself” to prevent herself from being imprisoned ?
Oooh, neat! Thanks for the info
Though my drop luck is pretty…well, y’know xD
He reached out for that sphere-portal-bubble-thingy, he WANTED to touch it. That didn’t look like some “Oh noes get away from me” but more like an “Aight, I might have a chance if I do this”
So it’s pretty sure not desintegrated, but ported away.
I don’t remember this, thanks for pointing out.
Got watch that again ^^
Transformed or transported. I have genuinely heard him say to me “We stand together” randomly in the world and I know one other who has heard it, but a different line and different place. I think we will see him again but not as we know him.
I’d say it would be worse writting to let him die. He’s the Guardian, probably the most powerful mage on Azeroth and he was shown disintegrated without putting up any kind of fight.
It makes Xal’alath look OP as hell which is good for a villain at the start of the expansion but letting Khadgar die like this would be rather disrespectful.
Plus as others mentioned, nobody seems to miss him. There are no quests where we even symbolically burry him. We survive the crash and just go explore the island no thoughts given. Letting him die without any closure would make it even more disrespecful.
I’m sensing a lot of copium right now.
Khadgar is dead. Get over it.
I don’t think he is dead yet, but there is a hint which suggest to me that he might have been on his final path due to his age before the fight with Xalatath.
Exactly !
His attack felt reckless, with zero defence, not even a shield, as if he knew he only had one good chance at getting her. The void thing might turn out to be a portal if Khadgar has potential to be useful to her.
Xalatath likes to play with peoples emotions and won’t hold back on who or what she uses to do so. I mean ‘she’ is ok wearing a dead elf like a dress. Prisoners were taken which could be used as shields/distractions to complicate/prevent attacks.
That would be quite the plot twist ! Over three expansions it is possible, plus Xalatath showed a potential awareness of Alleria’s future and mentioned inhabiting a body long ago. There are some ‘Harry Potter’ connection vibes.
It would be a pretty cool story if you are right.
Maybe we will also get to see a war between light and dark void Naruu.
Khadgar aint dead. i think locuswalker is actually Khadgar
and he is trying to help alleria defeat Xal’atath. traveling through futures and past
Locuswalker seem to be the person we need to discuss in my opinion
- Google search on locuswalker :
“Locus-Walker (sometimes referred to as the Locus-Walker) is a void ethereal who taught Alleria Windrunner everything she knows about the Void . “Locus-Walker” is apparently not his real name, but it is all he has been called for now.”
TBH I trust locuswalker about as far as I can throw him… considering I´m a gnome mage, even if he only weighs as much as his bandages and jewelery, that’s probably not very far
One does not simply kill Chadgar…
Not entirely impossible, though I think your suggestion may be hard to pull off convincingly …
What I could well imagine though is basically an adaptation of the Tyler Durden /Fight Club story, where the physical manifestation of Xal’Atath was actually just a trick her own mind was playing and it was actually Alleria the whole time… because AFAICR, “we” have never seen Xal’Atath and Alleria in the same room at the same time, or am I forgetting something like a quest or cinematic here?
Edit: Oh, wait, no, I think my idea, while possibly very cool, is a no-flyer, because IIRC every shadow priest was holding Knifu in their hands while we reconected with the Army of the Light, and IIRC alleria was present there… So we have in fact seen them in teh same room at the same time, as physically separate entities peasking to us individually…
TL;DR: Nothing to see here folks, just an old gnome with a bad memory and a half baked idea
Blizzard has been killing important characters for over 25 years , he’s hopefully dead and hopefully it means something so not sure what portrait you’re talking about.
We all saw in Baldur’s gate 3 when Ketheric teleported Aylin, She turned into black dust as well.
But was just transported down deeper into the colony and not dead.
Being what looks like disintegrated might just have been khadgar being pulled into a portal and not killed.
She’s forcing him to lick her feet and call her mommy while admitting too being a bad boy… or he’s offed because males are ick and blizz trying to pander.
I think he’s been teleported into the void, and every time an ethereal does something, he annoyingly pops up and says: “I remember this one - though I wouldn’t call it radiant!”
On a serious note, Bellular Warcraft did a YouTube video on it this morning, and I think they’re right.
