What is your experience as a female tauren

Ahh tell me about it and the animations are like your character is a farmer or something… I’m a Rogue, or Mage, or Priest, or Paladin but nooo all use weapons like they are on the fields farming!

I like to play Human and Elf characters in MMORPGs so … I’m watching the enviroment and mobs anyways but yeah…

…well at least it is as it was back in Vanilla :grinning:

By the way how come I can’t be a Hunter?
We humans are mostly known for killing and over hunting everything in the first place and we can’t be hunters? :grinning:

Anyhow I still support #NoChanges but it’s funny to think about it :upside_down_face:

Finally a reason to post this!

Just replace “fashion options” with “combat animations”

We all learned that in Westfall.

Made me laugh, good one.

It’s called role play, not identification play. It’s about playing a role that, in principle, is NOT you. If you are projecting your own trains of thought, your own personality, your own tastes over your character, you’re not RPing.

I mean, yes IRL you’re not a female. But you’re also not an elf, a god, a murderer (I hope!), a talking animal, or whatever you may have to roleplay in an RPG. If you’re serious about roleplaying, gender differences is just one of many defining aspects of the char you’re RPing that you consider when thinking how you’re supposed to play out your character.

To put it from another PoV: if you were a gamemaster/dungeonmaster in a TTRPG, would you only use male NPCs because you can’t roleplay female chars?

Oh my God. :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Dwarfen females with braids have the best cast animations in the game. In my opinion. Make a female dwarf priest with that hairstyle and cast a heal, you’ll see what I mean.

And on topic: Nobody ever mentioned the fact that I made a female tauren… in dungeons I’m usually mostly in bearform so it might not get noticed that much.
I can be a female gnome priest for 5min with the orb of deception too, which is more fun than being a male gnome engineer

Must be because i’m a warrior then.
I have people genuinely laughing when they walk past me with the occasional “who even picks tauren female”.

I also watched that video, and it wouldn’t surprise me if those who comment also have.

But I haven’t gotten any weird replies when I run my female tauren.

Every race have their haters, just look at how the belf players are ridiculed all the time

Tauren males in WoW look like hunchback of Notre Dame with their goofy face and posture, I think WC3 model concept was way better but it was also less human looking, so they would have problems making armor for them like the naga.

But tauren females take the award for the worst portrait icons, why are their eyes closed?

My toons are 99% female even if i’am 29 y.o guy. Females combat animations/running animations/thin bodies fit me better than muscular and neanderthal male models  I can use only 2 male animations if i want to keep that alt, undead male, human male, rest of males are not fitting me

Female Tauren are udderly cool

I’m not a cow in real life either but some of my druids are.

I do agree that in general it makes more sense to have characters matching your own identity; when I started playing all my Alliance characters were male. Then I tried Horde and wanted to go Forsaken but just didn’t like male undead animations, and for some reason I found female Tauren damn funny, so I swiched trend for the entirety of the faction. This dwarf is female for similar reasons (male dwarves are great, but if female dwarf /cheer or /cry or don’t make you smile you have no heart).

Lastly there are RP reasons for having female characters (and not necessarily exclusively). Ask any actor if they’d want to portray a character of the opposite gender were it possible to do so and I’m sure a lot of them would say yes.

You used 8 smileys in a row.
Not sure I’m the one who should be embarrassed.

I’m a female and I only play female characters. I’ve tried to play male characters, but they just feel wrong. I played the Witcher 3 and trough the whole game playing a male character just felt off. The only thing that bothers me about the tauren femals are the “skip” they do in the running animation after a jump.

I bet that ppl who play as same gender as irl are the ones who take the game as a job.
But some ppl like me play it like any other game. If I play MOBA I pick any hero I like, not only the male ones, same as when I play Diablo.
For exaple: when HL Alyx comes out, you wont play it because the main character you play as is female?

Not necessarily, I’ve seen the same issue with players of TTRPG. It’s just that some ppl have trouble understanding the full extent of the concept of “roleplay” as playing a role which is not you

Really? I gotta be honest, I’m doubting you. Post some screenshots. It’s not like tauren females are rare nowadays. Maybe this could’ve happened back in vanilla. I spent quite some time as tauren female warr on private servers and never got a comment like that.

That is a perfectly acceptable reason to have gone female Tauren actually :slightly_smiling_face:

I believe that female models have better animations and customisation options :ok_hand:

I’ll try to collect some if it happens again.
I usually don’t screenshot a lot.
Most recent one was yesterday evening.

I don’t mind it though.
