Earlier on, whilst participating in the Noblegarden world event at Razor Hill, I was reminded of my earliest memory of playing WoW: the first time I ever saw the gates of Orgrimmar (before they were redesigned). Whilst we all bemoan various aspects of the game, we are all united in the fact that we continue to play WoW and have a variety of experiences (good and bad!) when playing it.
With that in mind, what is your favourite WoW memory? It might be the first memory you have of WoW or a time when you defied the odds in a dungeon, raid, battleground (Iāve been quite lucky by Disengaging back onto platforms by the thinnest of margins!); or maybe there was an event that brought people togetherā¦
Either way, feel free to share your stories and screenshots of the weird and wonderful world that we all share!
Sadly, those little interactions are becoming rarer these days (on non-RP realms, that is). Itās something I should probably consciously do more often - I only ever do it to passing guild members.
I have a lot of good memoriesā¦but i think 2 of them i will never forgetā¦
We were doing violet hold and i reached lvl 80, someone (not from our group) said GZ and threw some firework⦠It was a Gamemaster. He showed himself and turned us all into chicken.
Killing the lichking for the first time with our guild after so many wipes⦠Damn we were so proud.
Probably one of my first days in the game, making one of my first in-game friends and helping him found our guild. We did a few quests together in Tirisfal and then I think he took the zeppelin to Durotar. Wasnāt much later the guild was founded and I met a bunch of other great people.
I have too many, all from wotlk - lvling and clearing naxx with my brother and our guild, my guild leader whom i really liked although he frequently yelled at the whole group for messing up, meeting my bf on WoW and eventually clearing ICC with him and our guild. Also mimiron hard mode - was a huge achievement for us because it took us a long time to kill.
Was before I started playing way way back in 2006, this was in fact the reason why I decided to play. Was watching a friend play, and he was sat outside Gronāgol iirc and watched as 40 players rode past on their way to a raid. Then the 1st time I left the valley of trials and walked to orgrimmar, and seeing it full of players.
Another memory is what I refer to as a lesson learnt lol, being killed by a bear after looking what was just outside Tirusfal, which was ofc Western Plagulands.
In this rogues twinking days when it was allowed there is to many to remember. Bring back twinking you blizzard people. These are all WGS epic battle memories between two twink guilds lvl 19. head enchants FTW.
I can elaborate if taunted to but It shouldnāt even need to be explained.
Favourite memory has to be the time I decimated Souldefiler in PvP even though I had no idea what I was doing and forgot to use any of my PvP talents that Iād carefully chosen in preparation
When i was around 10-12 years old in early wrath of the lich king and did not play the game, i noticed my older step brother played wow all day after school and remember sneaking into his room whenever he went to the toilet, so i could take his mouse and look around at the landscapes. Then one day he caught me moving around on his frostsaber in one of the many snow zones on a nightelf female and he didnāt get mad, but was happy i found his favorite game interesting and kept telling me to quit minecraft for wow. Ever since then iāve been in love with MMOās. Pretty noob story, but yeah itās probably the reason i play today.
In BFA hanging in STV with war mode on to chill with members of both factions, talking, duelling etc and sometimes even doing some casual RP walk through zones only to end up in a mostly forgotten place and have a quiz where the winner got to live and the others had to mostly drown themselves.
^best memory from BFA.
Iāll update with best memory from each expansion:
Shadowlands:
When Dragonflight was announced.
Legion:
When BFA was announced.
WoD:
When I was randomly leveling, saw a portal, clicked it and got Voidtalon of the darkstar mount.
Mists:
When my friends and I stood in Hellfire on a rock out over the twisting nether and summoned people to their death, flying druid was doing the summoning just over the edge so no one would survive.
Cata:
When I got that trinket that grew you up in size and increased the damage you did.
WotLK:
When I levelled my DK and was a MT for a guild up to Ulduar. (first tank on my realm to reach 40k health at the time woo!)
TBC:
Too many to count. This was the expansion I loved from start to finish. Doing raids with the guild I was in, meeting people in the world and helping them with quests.
I remember being a kid goofing around on my first mage back in Wrath and while i could āāplayāā i still didnāt really know how to go about gearing properly and whatnot so i usually stuck to doing dungeons, bgs, and dueling, but one time i wanted to try raiding so i signed up for ulduar pugs and remember after like 100 rejections because i was missing achievements some guy actually decided to take me. I got carried of course, but just finally getting taken for a raid pug and to see the place was amazing.
When me and my brothers did start to play together in 2005 as Warrior, pala and Druid. We could not even go and eat or sleep since we had a to much fun in Westfall. My first experience in deadmines as tank was epic all players that stood and begged to join was so epic our first kill of hogger ye everything was fun!
In Wotlk did me and me brother raid on Outland in a guild named āImmortalisā or āImmortalā we did ICC HC and it was so much fun especially Lich king that was the last time I did push highest raid tier.
Last time I played with my brothers were in MoP I miss them (online)!
Crossing the Dark portal for the first time in TBC and beholding that alien skybox, the barren land and the demonic clash.
A close second is the death of our healer in heroic sethek halls in TBC due to 2 Avian Warhawks charging at her at the same time and making her die midair high up the wall and look at us as a sad angel.
She was furious but the rest of us were unable to move due hysterical laughter
