What makes you purchase 'boosts'?

Fair enough. I don’t Mythic raid… in fact, I don’t even LFR raid, as I find it boring.

But I like to play higher keys. But I find usually just tagging along with some friends on my alts for a couple of +15’s here and there is a quick enough way to gear it up.

Also I find going through the process of gearing the alt up yourself is a good way to learn your spec.

Simple - NOTHING.

Dunno. I’d never.

For many it’s the most optimal way of playing. Their motivation to play the game isn’t beating content, but getting kitted in full bis as quick as possible. The fun doesn’t come from the challenge, but from receiving the reward. The game has conditioned players to get that dopamine rush from getting items and that’s what people play for.

And the fastest way of achieving your goal is to do the mission table on mobile, then use the gold you make there to buy a boost once a week - you get a professional raiding team that starts on time. You don’t have to get in a guild on the offchance they might be good, sending submissions, farming parses just to be able to make your application form.

So basically, buying a boost becomes the path of least resistance, the preferred way for anyone who doesn’t play for the challenge itself.

mount from hc nzoth from curve and the mechanics on heroic sire are my reasons
i dislike the wts advertisement spam all the same

I bought a boost on my hunter for a Sylvanas HC kill. It’s a horrible longwinded fight that pugs often fail and people are kicked for low dps/failing tactics. So as a reasonably new characters with no gear I paid for a boost because it’s hassle free.

I got incredibly lucky and got the bow drop on my first boosted run. I had thought it might take a couple of attempts.

I heavily considered buying a boost for my alt just to gear them up.

People who say that pugs when it comes to raiding, is all about how many mythic bosses you have killed on your rio page is lying a lot. It’s mainly a combo between high ilvl and decent kill amount of bosses in hc/mythic.

Why would anyone invite an alt that is 239 ilvl avg. and with 9/10 hc bosses to Sylvanas hc if they have the option to invite 245+ with 10/10 hc bosses killed?

In the end I didn’t buy it but I’d buy it just to get around pugging and I believe that is the main issue and this is NOT solved by a automatic raid finder.

Well, so far I didn’t have to pay for them.
I traded favors.

On topic - as an oldschool player, I’d have to compete for loot with others. Generally it isn’t a problem but I did lose items out of bad luck already - items that get replaced in 5 levels anyway.

The bigger reason is a nice chunk of XP from killing all the elites and completing dungeon q-s. All the less hassle with outdoor quests!

Unofficial 3rd: if my booster is a friend, we can chat along the way, but I do find opportunities for that in a regular group setting as well. It’s just more personal with 2 people

yeah i have got boosted …
rison why i boost is to skip bad/toxic content
killed sylvanas without wipe a single time …

I do not buy boosts but people in my guild buy heroic raid boosts to gear up their alts faster as we as a guild cba with doing alt raids.

Lack of active online friends, lack of an active raiding guild, lack of a 2k Rio as unable to get pug groups due to lacking 2k Rio lol. 260k gold for a full HC raid boost is decent.

For the price im guaranteed a full 10/10 with a highly unlikely chance of the raid disbanding, persistently wiping and 4 hours of my life wasted.

I am slowly trying to pug my way up to do all M+15s. If I had the extra cash to put into the game I would have bought KSM by now as it’s a long and grindy process.

This is the first expansion that I have bought these boosts, I used to manage all this through pugging, however, less and less peeps are online and so forming and finding groups is taking a lot longer.

The answer is always “time” . For example in mop i cba to spend 100 hours to practice chalenge modes omeceqch Class while making 150k for boost was notning with my guild boosting garosh normal for 5k a pop and we were taking like 6-8 people each tiem while having fun time on vent. We made się much gold from IT that we even bought our friends mythic garosh boost for 1 mln gold for her birthsday . Then in wod why would i spend 100 + hour łearning chalenge modes when i nade literaly milions of gold from garrison and ah Play ( enough gold to buy literaly everything frkm in game shop as soon as IT was possible )Then we jump to nyalotha when i didnt RAID. Why would i bother to find guild or waste time with pugs when boost by the end of tier was for 40k so IT costed nothing. But still main factor is time. I woudlrather have fun im gamę then spend time doing chalenging stuff .

i bouth a level 60 boost from shop to get paladin to level 60 beocurse i dont play paladins :stuck_out_tongue:

I bought boost only once (from Nova) during BfA for PvP reasons but it was also Nzoth Ahead of the Curve mount, so basically it was 1 rock 2 birds situation for me.

I needed corruption resistance for my cloak and Nzoth kill was giving that, it would provide me advantage against other players and allow me to equip more corruption versatility. I was trying to reach Duelist… it was a big deal for me back then… nowadays I even boost people to Duelist.

Walk of - :bell: Shame… Shame… shame…

I’ve only got a boost once, it was 130k for the Sire Don’tcareaboutsus dude in patch 9.0. For all of that ‘head of the curve’ it was a waste of gold as there was no free mount attached to it and it never really helped out getting into groups.

Having ‘ahead of the curve’ achieve it seems like the IRL equivalent of having a college/university certificate - I.E. its mostly worthless due to saturation (too many people with ahead of the curve/college and university certification.)

Curve prices right now are 80k and falling, but I’m not interested in doing that again.

I agree with this and also, one of my alts in this guild  unless they kicked her :joy: it’s a nice one deffo, i thought they did raiding

Are we talking about a level boost? I have done that a few times some years ago but it was worthless.

A gear boost? No way, shouldnt even be allowed nor paid mounts or anything like it.
Where do u even buy theese boosts?

Look at trade chat.

I dont even understand. Blizzard only sell level boosts. You cant be serious u buy boosts from other Russian underground companys to level a character for you?
