What puts you off tanking?

Only Guardian druid are viable in RBG due to immunity of cc and able to travel the map invisible

Demon hunter tank too much nerfed, was fine in Legion

Protection paladin not able to use divine shield when holding a flag in RBG

Protection warrior Jump heroic leap combo nerfed in shadowland

Monk don’t have enought health than a guardian druid and do the same jobs than a guardian druid until the monk is stunned.

Basically blizzard does not balance tank in RBG

People throw any kind of issues straight onto the tank being bad.

”Don’t tank him there!! Tank him in this <exactly the same generic spot but 5 yards in another direction>”

There’s not enough crayons in the world to draw the picture needed for these people to realise they’d have died from the very same AoE they stood in, even if I tanked the boss 5 yards whatever direction on a flat surface.

Tanks probably have the biggest ignore list in this game.

Yeah, the way M+ works as a speedrun probably puts off a lot of people.

well pugging is going to die a horrible death in 9.2 if the relics don’t get sorted out quick. They def are not pug friendly. Especially when you get some trigger happy DD deciding he/she/it would benefit more from the haste buff and not kill the one that was pre planned.

Im just rubbish at tanking. Im a keyboard turner and whilst its fine to do that as a hunter its way more difficult with other classes.
Also I hate any kind of melee/close combat, just find it quite confusing.

Hmmm… /pat

i love how you forgot blood tank…

cus we both know blood tank is not playable

Is it not like this?

yh basically, but you missed on crucial thing in that picture … how every hit feels like a 1 shot mechanic to a blood dk

Well that image was originally posted at least 1 month before Shadowlands so, it is not exactly current

Not even remotely close. One of the highest IO tanks is BDK right now so how about you just come clean and admit you messed up your rotation and got to eat dirt later on because of it.

I’ll tell you what puts me off tanking:

  1. Melee dps doing less interrupts on prio adds than you, the tank.
  2. People in the group not cc-ing and helping the tank on weeks with hard affixes.
  3. Being top dps in a dungeon.
  4. Being top healer in a dungeon.
  5. being the first at all the above in a dungeon. I don’t mind boosting, but I expect to be paid for it.
  6. Hunters and Warriors shouting: “DO NOT MOVE THE ADDS FROM MY AOE” while trying to survive and do all of the above.
  7. People not listening to tank calls and pulling first, especially mages => “But I had 2 seconds left of my Combustion and I HAD to pull”
  8. People not respecting tank’s route.
  9. Warriors Intervening the tank and getting 1 shoted.
  10. Warriors that charge + bladestorm and insta die.
  11. Warriors that randomly taunts adds/boss and then yelling they got aggro.
  12. Warriors in general.
  13. Russians as they insta leave the group after the key was inserted and the timer started.

For me too. I actually love to tank. Had at one point decided to to play bear in s3. Routing bs made me ultimately not do it.
Never understood why dungeons after legion were not designed so you just have to kill all the trash in m+.
Rogue wouldnt be that op/mandatory; more ppl would try tanks; no skip shenanigans…

I am actually a main tank… But I am only playing Retribution on my main char (not this one) because I can’t use 2-hand weapons for Tanking and that would ruin my awesome transmog.

While as tank you need to do good dps + kicks + stuns + keep aggro + position mobs + stay alive… all while being aware of the route and the trash count and hoping the dps don’t ninja pull anything.

I enjoy tanking with a good group. Tanking with weak dps who don’t know what an interrupt is is a miserable experience.

Blood Deathknight got only 1 purpose :

Death Grip people like in hotmogu everyday

I’m main tank and i like the responsability, actually i play for satisfying that need of Power.
I play in an active guild both in raid and m+, but i pug alot because i got a lot of free time.
What i hate the most when tanking are: (in specific order)

  • People that wanna impose over my route. I can accept suggestion with open mind, but if i decide a route there is a reason to it, if i say no skip. is a no skip. if i mark a skull u kill fast the skull…
  • When ppl in group ask for bigger pull and when i do they all die like idiots, really as tank i just need to see the first pull to understand if dps are good or bad, and if the healer can take all alive, if the group is good i pull more if not i pull less
  • DPS that do less dmg then tank… Really pissing me off
  • Player that do not remeber the weekly affix and make stupid decision/error
  • Player that die not avoiding things
  • Healer that can’t keep up the rythm and need a lot of manabreak (it’s rare nowdays)

Uh, what even is this logic.

Too much standing in crap by the team and not enough interrupting. It is normal it gets blamed on the healer. That is why there is a shortage of healers too
