What will happen to all mages, warriors in TBC?

Hello folks,

As you know TBC is most likely gonna be announced soon (nothing confirmed) but my bet is during Blizzcon 2020. However as you know this meta of fury warriors and mages in Classic will lead to a high supply of this class in TBC.

I’ve read some threads and articles and from what I can see they are not on the top dps meters on the charts. For a 25 man raid maybe 1-2 at most of each class will be brought to the raid and while hunters and warlocks will have their glory days in TBC.

My bet is that they will exist and be in raids ofc but a lot of players will have to realise the fact that they might not find a raidspot.

What will happen to mages and warriors and what are your specific plans if you have one ?

my guess would be that Fotm ppl just reroll, other ppl still gonna main them since they are still viable anyways.
Warrior is still a good tank and mage ist still good for arena.

Do you think meta slaves will stop being meta slaves? Most likely they are already leveling up their BC chars now while their classic main is raid logged xD

If you are speedruning, meta guild you are already play what is needed to do that and not what you may want so in TBC you will play what you must play for the meta. All remaining guilds will not care.

Yes but warrior tanking is only good up to tier 4 raiding while prot palas and druid tanks are better for tier 5 and 6 raids according to some sources. Yes Mages are very good for PvP. Im gonna shift focus on my mage from PvE in classic over to PvP in TBC and maybe try a few raids with him also.

I’m going to reroll protadin, which is what I always wanted to play but unfortunately didn’t exist in Vanilla so yeah

Most likely a true statement. Metas will be metas.

Indeed but as TBC raiding is 25 man I definitly think casuals guilds will also consider the class management much more than in Classic.

MY TIME WILL SOON COME!

Those Mages can still be of use supplying me with some water and the Warriors are just going to have to suck eggs

The age of Warrior is over, the time of the Warlock has come.

A great choice. Im also looking at a Paladin or a Shaman as my next project. As you say Paladins was pretty much healing in classic (feel sorry for you rets/prots out there) but with TBC it will change.

If I go Pala it will be Horde side since there is probably gonna be a shortage of them if not all meta warriors rerolls to palas.

And Alliance, on top of it :joy:

I still hope we will have Classic+

Tbc all the warriors and mages will re-roll hunter and warlock

Classic+ won’t happen, why would they develop two mmorpgs at the same time… xD.

not gonna be playing tbc.

Those who follow meta already have a 60 hunter or warlock ready. Those who don’t won’t care all that much.
I am staying mage, because that’s my main and I have near 0 interest in playing anything else. Also the differences on Brutallus are something like lock+hunter at 2800 dps and others at somethig like 2500 to 2300, nowhere near the imbalance of Classic with warriors and rogues at 1100 and others at 500.
Basically, if you stack 20 warriors now, you already have your roles for tbc assigned anyway. If you don’t, why would you suddenly start stacking classes in TBC with MORE even playing field?

For more subs I would guess. As retail has entered the End Game a long time ago and wont be able to strech it a lot.

They don’t need to. Naxxramas is gonna come out sometime in Winter, and TBC is going to fill the gap next year. There’s just no need for Blizzard to risk investing in a Classic+ at this point, and all their moves so far point towards a TBC re-release instead.

Retail entered end game long ago…?
When exactly…?
Regardless of whatever changes that people want in a classic+ people will hate it…
If retail was failing so badly, they wouldn’t be releasing expansions still.

They’d be delaying the expansions every 3-4 years instead of 2 years.

I’m fury main in classic. Already leveling my warlock and hunter (and also shadow priest). Not 100% which of them I’ll play but definitely not warrior.

iirc, then a SP is capped at like 1800 dps in TBC, still a viable class to bring.
