What world quests do you enjoy, if any?

Wich of the WQs from BFA and Legion do you like, and dislike? And why?

Personally I like:

  • Most of the puzzle quests, be it leylines, memory, three in a row (?), the one where you remember paths from legion etc.
  • Most quests where you kill a single named mob/boss.

Dislike:

  • Fill a bar style quests by doing objectives within an area, by killing and collecting stuff.
  • Most kill X amount of, or collect X amount of. Feels kinda meaningless since the mobs pose little challenge and have either too little or too much health. (tbh too little health is preferred, since you can just mow them down and get it over with.)
  • Kill and loot stuff from mobs. See above point, except you have to loot stuff that may or may not drop from every mob.
  • The quest where you have to protect turtles running to water.

Also if you could potentially design your own world quests what would they look/play like?

I would like one kinda like brawlers guild. Where you go to a set arena (same place every day) and you would get to fight a random boss once a day, out of a roster of 20-40 different bosses. Also more puzzle quests, but more difficult!

I like shell game, make loh go, ley lines and the candy crush thingy. Jumping jellys was fun the first times i did it.

actually the same.

I really hate quest ā€œGather azerite from dead elementalsā€ i need to kill lots of them to fill that stupid bar.

This is easy AF quest, just don’t spam, aim carefully when this crosshair is on the seagull and fire, crabs are even easier because you don’t have to hit them directly.

I would want more dungeon quests to give people more incentive to learn mechanics from easiest difficulties.

I like especially:

  • Ones where you gotta take selfies for that silly gnomes tourist business.
  • Penguine sliding.
  • Minigame ones (especially ones where you untangle those lines in Nazjatar).

Not big fan of:

  • Fill bar ones.

I like the non-traditional ones that offer a small break from all the usual MMO-stuff. Like shell game, jewlcraft or the lazy ones : kill that mob.

I also do not mind those bombing quests. Blizzard 1st added those on 1st zone and quests in TBC, and it always feels a bit like going back in time. Also i like gryphons.

What i dislike most is the gnomeland’s ā€œKill 3 raresā€ as its same pointless BS I hated already in Timeless Isle, and on Argus. All those ā€œkill random mobs to kill time, and better yet when they have not spawned and so go afk 20 minutes and be there like an idiotā€ typed quests. I tend to not do those. I didn’t spend much time on Timeless Isle, I do not spend much time on gnomeregan vol 2.

Oh i hate that one too. Why ? 1st you must kill a plenty, and then try to do this quest on fresher alt, or non raid character, and you then will try to kill those higher HP big elementals and then get just mere 15% or something. Eeew. hate it whereas in comparison the Naga-bar one is fine - as it has a lot of ways to fill that bar and has helpful interactible objects. It also rewards a buff that is nice for rest of world quests.

So fill bar quest can be ok, and can not be ok. Same way i find ok the ā€˜mine azerite’ fill bar, but I remain hateful on the elementals one. I also dislike with passion ā€œanother turtle made it to waterā€ one.

WQs would be a lot more enjoyable with 2 changes.

  1. Every day the first 4 WQs in each zone should give double the rep but every WQ afterwards should give just a small amount.

  2. WQs should give reward to fit the effort.
It’s stupid that you get better rewards for killing a 200k HP mob than for draining the Azerite elementals.
If you would get double the rep and 300 AP from the elemental WQ for example it wouldn’t feel so bad doing it.

The ley lines and the gem world quests in Nazjatar are pretty fun. I like the challenge and the randomness, and I have gotten better with it over time!

Ooh forgot the penguins, they are fun aswell!

In my opinion, World Quests should be repeatable minigames, such as the penguin quest and some of the ones in Naz. They shoudn’t be just the same kill-x-gather-y quests. Those should be reserved for dailies.

I hate them all with a burning passion, and I still need to do 4k more before I’m done.

I like any where I just need to kill 1 bad guy, also penguin, Mardivas and Tortollan ones. I dislike all the rest ones.

Not a world quest but i really enjoyed the Horde War campaign quest where you have to get Derek’s body from the ocean floor.

It was dark and gloomy and i actually ran into another player down there on the ocean floor.

I wish i could replay it.

What world quest you like?
Me: yes.

Not the F**King murloc one from legion that they re-added in naj thats for sure …

I was so happy i could escape some of the horrible wq’s from legion

Then the worst one decided to come back …

I forgot the leylines - I really love the more complex one. Those really good way to ā€˜boot up’ my brain in the mornings. Take sip of coffee and try to get your eyes focused. Same time nothing too complex and overwhelming for waking brain.

I greatly enjoy these too.

Once the fixed the jumping quest in nazjatar, I like it too.

Shell game and violet Bejeweled. We need more of these with timers, because they require fast thinking, observation and intelligence.

I’ll tell you which one I don’t enjoy…

I like the Tortollan WQs, all the other factions are just stinky poopoo

I like the geysers filling with the green goo  and the leylines. I hate the fill the bars.

I like the ones that are tied to the game’s story and characters my character has met such as helping Krag’wa kill some more Blood Trolls. Some of the puzzle games have been nice or those where you get to use special power ups not available anywhere else.

I don’t really hate any of the quests but it was weird at first to have an NPC tell me what to do even if they aren’t anywhere close. ā€œYeeees oh omnipresent authority figure?!ā€ (Those who’ve played Baldur’s Gate I will know what I mean). Some quests can get boring like showing basic geometric shapes to little Tortollan. Also, not yet being able to fly in Nazjatar is painful.

Edit: Today I found out one Zandalari World Quest requires me to aggravate and possibly kill Raptari Druids ā€œjust for lulzā€ and the questgiver is Hexlord Raal. Sure, the priests and servants of different loa don’t always see eye-to-eye but they ALL fight for Zandalar and are our allies.
