What would make the alliance more popular?

I was merely pointing out racials matter little for the majority of the player base.

I think berserking is still the best racial.

Well the main point of my post was mainly talking about the looks. Trolls beat Humans, for the first time ever.

The racials for ZT are a new take. If I played one…that is…

It depends on how tempting the advantage is, if it is 0.025% of course they won’t.

Blizzard is late about this, I just want nice PvP gear from PvP vendor so that we can stay and play otherwise PvP’ers will also start to swap factions if PvE gear stays as OP like it was during BfA.

It is a prediction based on observation. Blizzard also prevented realmpop websites from operating properly in order to hide this truth, I mean how imbalanced factions are. Nowadays probably 42 A - 58 H and real problem is participation to raids, that is much lower on Alliance because guilds kept moving to other side and people started to not care at all.

Even I as a semi-hardcore player don’t have any intention to raid under such circumstances.

I always have a point :stuck_out_tongue:

A point, doesn’t always mean your correct, pal

Sorry for my bad engrish then

There are a couple of factors to making a faction attractive, I guess.
Obviously racials, but that’s more a gear in the system.

So three very important factors:

  • Be cool
  • Be cute
  • Do not be goofy-by-design

Alliance development does not do well regarding those categories.
TechGNOMES? VOIDelves? DI-Dwarves? Kultirans (ok, those might fill a niche)…

Overall, Alliance has very few cool things and is also loosing the cuteness to horde: Belfs and furries… (fur/no fur).

Want something cute: Go Horde
Want something strong: Go Horde
Want something dark: Go Horde
Want something goofy: Go Horde
Want something Elve: Go Horde

WHY on earth (except the wife playing alliance) would anyone willingly play the uncool faction? You’d have to add severe technical advantages (or wifes) to offset this “§$%”§$

Void elves look hotter.

It’s quite well known that Exorsus are going Alliance for the first tier but they are expected to move back to Horde after.

i am not sure why dwarf or dark iron dwarf is not cool. Or why night elf is not cute. A lot of people play humans anyway, instead of ‘beasts’. Go wild/goofy and you got worgen.

Yet human males look like they’ve consumed an awful lot of steroids and have very unnatural bodies. So I’m not sure it’s about looks per se.

Alliance totally needs High elves to save them, you know it’s coming to this xD

High-Elves could have worked a lot better than void-who-are-they-actually-elves, imho. At least there is some preexisting lore.

edit Also, I think that reworking the worgen animations could make that whole race work a lot better for the ones who would actually play them (that spin-forward-flip and the clumsy walking does not really match the ferocious ‘werewolf’ theme - just in my opinion, there needs to be less goofyness, as that is something players can and will do themseves. Just mog BC-Level-Gear…).

I don’t think you can blame alliance fans for having a fixation on high elves, it’s been part of the alliance and a fantasy fave pact - blizzard would be stupid to alienate high elves from the alliance, just because it’s popular, but instead use that. You could argue they should never have given the alliance high elves, but that argument only fits the psychology of a person who wants them only on the horde which they never were to begin with.

Think!!! It is ONLY elves that alliance players fuss about - they don’t fuss about or demand any other horde race, why is that? Cos elves are home on the alliance. Elves are definitely something alliance players care deeply about and a good portion of horde elf players were alliance players too, who switched because of blood elves going horde.

Have a population issue with alliance? Make elves far more attractive on it, tempt at least a portion of the horde elven community back to their original faction. You’ll fix it. Not all will go, some have found permanent satisfaction at home on the horde… but some will. Let the lore reflect that by having blood elves turn high elves and Nightborne turn into Night elves via the Arcan’dor due to political activities and aligning with values that are closer to theirs - not all will hearken to the alliance, but a good portion will.

And bingo problem solved. Elves are the key.

Destroying opinions with facts… really Brigante? The best you can do is give your thoughts and feelings as to why the problem exists, what will solve it, and your opinion on elves if different from mine.

You can’t destroy with facts my suggestion that the major assets of the high elves and night elves that were annexed to the horde return to them or that a good portion of the horde elf population return to the alliance as high elves and night elves from their blood elven identity and nightborne condition healed by the Arcan’dor.

This is all opinion and suggestion, not something argued against with fact, just by your opinion. You’re a horde fan anyway, your faction is dominant and the alliance is bleeding numbers and has been for a long long time, you can’t pretend the problem doesn’t exist just so elves aren’t touched.

Elves are part of the problem, they’re messing up the horde identity as is, and robbing the alliance of the best part of one of it’s strongest suits, the elves. Addressing that will help fix the imbalance over time, especially drawing those alliance players who went horde because of Silvermoon or Suramar, back.

Which you completely mis-interpreted, because Iw as talking about what they should become, not what they are. But in your haste to counter just for counter sake you missed.

Now a true blood elven response if ever I heard one right. Zug zug?

First statement is true, but Erevien was being facetious, wow faction stories are bad because they’ve been typically very biased one way or the other, star wars didn’t have a problem writing good faction stories regardless of who one or lost, they felt far more even. They’re bad because one faction is often heavily favoured over the other and the story not presented properly - this is my opinion.

Blood elves and Nightborne exist because High elves and Night elves were made to suffer, their gain is a direct loss to high elves and night elves, but you care for Nightborne and blood elves not suffering but accept Night elves and high/void elves as is?

Well night elves and high/void elves have lost a lot, and suffered a lot, let them gain what was theirs back. I’m fine with blood elves and Nightborne losing half their population and most of their assets by becoming high elves and night elves once more. The remainder can start anew in horde claimed territories, and launch attacks to gain what they lost back - = lots of fighting.

You forget that’s what they already did, and it’s the foundation of the blood elves going into the horde right?

Nah, Nightborne are there to stay, we’re just removing Suramar and 2/3 of their population who get restored to their night elven appearance after healing from the Arcan’dor, realise blood elves hate them just because they look like their original selves, and accept the friendly overtures of the Highborne and local isle night elves - while being appalled at how some of their blood elven allies were barbaric about destroying innocent kaldorei lives in Ashenvale, Darkshore and Teldrassil.

Which flies in the face of what Suramar stands for. So why should it stay.?

Takes one to know one, but i don’t expect a horde elf enthusiast to like y suggestion - ofc, only the horde elf fans are reacting and strongly too, cos this is EXACTLY where to hit them to get alliance numbers back up.

I’m trying to point this out tot hem, but they obviously don’t care about the horde. it’s elves only they care about, they would have elves consume the horde identity, and my point wasn’t even to remove those elves, but to sufficiently diminish them and raise the profile of the core horde races that represent the core identity of the horde.

Why can’t Zandalari, Pandaren, Goblins and orcs also have great things? Don’t need elves coming in and dominating everything taking the best elven stuff of the alliance - it’s not really horde they don’t fit.

I’m trying to point it out to them, but ofc they won’t listen. They are a bunch of hardcore elf loving fanatics that switched factions because blizzard made the elves on the horde full of all the best things of the high elves and the night elves, so they feel threatened, not realising that this move is what has both hurt the identity of the horde and crippled the alliance story telling, because blizzard keep defaulting major elf alliance allies to the horde instead - keeping more of these guys going horde instead of alliance.

That focus robs horde races of getting more innovative and interesting solutions, because they can just lump more stuff to horde elves. And it’s ridiculous that alliance elves are the ones homeless and in tiny refugee numbers, for a native race, shouldn’t that be the horde elves because elves don’t really belong on the horde? They shouldn’t be great on the horde, orcs, tauren, trolls, goblins, even Pandas and vulpera - these should have a higher priority than borrowed humans (i.e. forsaken) and elves (blood and nightborne)

Exactly, blizzard recognising that the blood elves are an alliance attuned and themed race, they built the identity of the alliance on humans and elves, with dwarves.

And these players are surprised why the alliance players are always on about high elves and night elves - wading in on blood elf and nightborne who have the assets of the high elves and the night elves in their hands.

How is he trolling when he is speaking the truth?

you are the one that is trolling … your make pointless replies often to statements not even said, you , you treat suggestions as if they are facts and argue the facts don’t say that when they are suggestions… you constantly argue against any pro alliance option for elves that you are not satisfied with constantly trolling every night elf, high elves, blood elf and nightborne post to ensure as you see it, that the horde retains its elven dominance.

you sit like a hen diligently watching the forum for any talk on horde elvs and wade in… you troll so much … and you accuse him of trolling?

Maybe that’s how they feel? You saying their feelings are illegitimate because you don’t agree? You think it was fun for them to like elves and the alliance and watch night elves dwindle to absurdity and their best revival in legion having their assets and sub -race thrown to the horde… or to watch alliance lovers of high elves see blood elves form but then given to the enemy faction that is the anti-thesis of what they stand for and feel okay about it?

Why do you think high elf threads and night elf threads especially concerning the Nightborne/Suramar are so popular? We are all cry babies then not entitled to our opinion or our feelings?

Ofc it’s abhorrent, you have the birth/home place of the majority of the Darnassian faction and all it’s major heroes, the one city steeped the most in their massive lore fantasy trilogy, given to the horde.

you have the kingdom of the high elves and their zone and lands, their human friendship and alliance that was ingrained in early Warcraft taken away and given to the horde, then watched as the history was re-contextualised to further distance the high elves from the human so it would make their horde presence more palatable, but you can’t erase what was released in WC2 and 3.

These are he only and best elven assets for both the high elves and night elves, and they are given to the horde… the rest of the night elf stuff is all ruins, and the small town-city of Darnassus, the early works destroyed. Suramar is the only major night elven city asset in the game and it’ given along with it’s night elven inhabitants to the horde.
Same with Silvermoon and Quel’thalas, the only assets the high and void elves have, and it’s in the hands of the horde, and you expect alliance fans to be okay about this?

to be okay about their races most attractive assets, magic and visualisation on the enemy faction while their fave race is constantly beaten, homeless, and neutered in its identity, or when given new stuff, it’s so haphazard in comparison and the core heart of most of what was initially night elven and high elven seen more on the horde than it is seen on their race?

I mean what do you expect?

That will work for sure, but it will create other problems, they fear it won’t be Warcraft if that happens.

He wasn’t trolling, he called you out correctly, it stung, you got offended, because not all the horde population agrees with you, in fact only the elf playing horde population and some of the forsaken ones, the rest are fed up of elves ruining the horde, and alliance players are fed up of the alliance being crippled so blizzard can feed their elven stuff to the horde.

Solution is simple: make the alliance the main home of the elves, and diminish the role and presence and return assets of the high elves and night elves that were annexed to the horde.

A truer gnome as I’ve ever heard - notice how no one challenges that or it doesn’t spawn 1,000s of responses. It’s not about elves.

I do like the void elves but I think High Elves would have been a better idea tbh.

Honestly, I’d be fine with it if they got whole new animations to make them more unique from Blood/Void elves and I mean ALL new animations no more recycled content, and maybe abit of effort put into them.

Atm with Void elves the faction lines ARE blurred I can’t tell if someones a Void elf or a Blood elf anymore.

When the Horde fanbase calls him out, he is trolling.
You just agree with him, but you are a minority.

And more of the Horde population don’t agree with you.

Rebuild your own lands then.

Suramar is not Tyrande’s home anymore and the High Elves still live in Silvermoon. They are just very respectful towards those that were slain during the Third War, hence why they call themselves “Sin’dorei - Blood Elves.”

You’ve got night elf lands. Night Elves lived in forests more than they lived in cities anyway.
Have fun with Darkshore, Ashenvale and Hyjal.

It’s been well over a decade. If you aren’t ok with this, you are the problem.

Nah, Nightborne are here to stay on the Horde, in full - with Suramar, with the Blood Elves and they are enjoying their lives.

Besides, you’d ruin the Nightborne and Blood Elves, by making them servants to Human overlords in Stormwind. This is why what you want cannot happen, under any circumstance.

Foundation yes.
Now, the Blood Elves and Nightborne are close friends who understand each other.

Forsaken and Blood Elves, like Forsaken and Nightborne are just friends. Well - distant friends now with Sylvanas going nuts. It will take time for the Elves to trust the Forsaken again, but they will in due course.

High Elves and Night Elves suffer because they are Alliance.
High Elves suffered because of the Scourge invasion and they chose to go Alliance and be Human servants. Night Elves did the same.

Blood Elves and Nightborne are not Alliance.

Cool.
Void Elves can go to Outland and the Allerian Stronghold and take it over.
Night Elves can start building up Hyjal as their new city.

I don’t care what your fine with.
Your not important when it comes to the Blood Elves and Nightborne losing out when they don’t deserve to lose out.

No, because faction war stories don’t end well and this isn’t World of Alliance-craft, where everything is owned by the Alliance.

And that shows you know nothing of Blood Elf lore.

Worgen are something really weird. They were supposed to be wild and scary but… they are based on pretentious brits?

I understand they wanted to make a humorous “gent by day murderer by night” type of thing but it didn’t really work out.

Maybe redesign the casting and walking animations and we’ll see. I made several attempt to play one but the way they swing their arms when casting is a bit too much for me.

Are you the new Brigante, what’s with those 20 paragraphs, actually you are beyond Brigante level :smirk:

Yeh it would be nice, I do think that the whole point of the allied races was to give a slightly more unique type of customisation to older races, in the fancy new alternatives we saw many new npc groups that popped up in classic and the expansions but we never got to play.

We wanted wildhammers, dark irons, mag’har, dragonmaw orc etc, Zandalari in the cool appearances they altered the playable races in expansions. We knew these had the same animations and similar appearances but wanted both the fantasy and the look.

Which is why it happens.

But nothing stopped them from doing what they did with Nightborne and Zandalari though - although they may have considered it as exceeding the workload of the point of sub-races. They’d have to answer that.

I would welcome high elves with new animations and more uniqueness from void/blood elves - I may actually play one if that’s the case, but i don’t expect it, as it stands I won’t play one. I would welcome their full accessibility on teh alliance, and i know alliance players would love it, but I also play blood elves on the horde, and already have swathe of tunes, void elves give a player like me who plays both factions something different, high elves do not.

But saying that I understand many alliance players won’t touch the horde - this is how blizzard wants it, picking a side, and would very much welcome a full high elf range on the alliance. I support them, though I won’t play one. I also am aware the race is native to the alliance not the horde, and strongly feel that the best parts of both the high elves and night elves should be strongest and most attractive on the alliance, and at the moment, they are on the horde, both in terms of appearance and in terms of assets like zones claimed and cities.

I think if they turned that around, it would impact the imbalance sufficiency, as even getting 25% of the end game horde elf population and elf population only going back alliance because these things are there will fix the end game imbalance.

25% might be optimistic, because most people have guilds and communities and are not going to switch alliance just to play the same thing.

it’s the hardcore fanbase into the lore that will be affected most, and if they switch back to alliance it might just be enough number wise, and the horde would feel like the horde again at least on the forums and main boards, and the alliance would feel like the alliance again.

The reason blizzard has struggled with the identity of the horde

is because they’ve confused it by throwing elves and humans (forsaken) on it and making a major splash of these alliance races. They’ve given them the best portions of both the High elves (in Silvermoon/Quel’thlaas) and the Night elves (in Suramar and the nightborne) - dominant on the horde.

This flies in the face of the identity of the tauren, orcs, trolls, goblins etc. Look at how welcome Zandalari were when they did a good job with a horde native race? The horde didn’t need Suramar and all the nightborne, it could have just had a bunch of exiles who were denied the arcan’dor and so never got healed back to their original night elven appearance, and were given shelter by the blood elves and access to the Sunwell, allowing them to keep their original appearance.

Bingo, nightborne on the horde, but without Suramar and all the assets, they’d be just like the void elves, a small group of powerful refugees, but not making a huge splash, tying in the opposite factions major races’ history and new assets ported over to the horde in a repeat of what happened to the high elves via the blood elves going horde.

Imo if they fix that, that would be great.
