By no stretch a claim of pro skills on my part as an individual but a recent pvp experience i’ve spoken about in other threads (maybe this one?) about one heck of an isle of conquest comeback win was absolutely a proud alliance moment for me. Our chat fired up with such passion and coordinated direction and responses, it was amazing.
i’m well aware that some of them may have been horde mercs, but in that moment it was very much alliance fighting horde at the gates, refusing to budge, refusing to bow to what for many is an “insta loss” of IoC and to make the horde work for their bread and by golly did we make them work for it and then some, leading to a monumental victory for us. it was such an amazing BG to be part of and it’s moments like that why I play PvP! I just wish there was a slightly easier way to get into ranked BGs in a more casual manner because BGs are very much “where it’s at” for me and Arena is merely a “means to an end” for attempts on gear that me and my partner are both kinda meh about.
I wish i had recorded it! And I REALLY wish I could have seen the horde chat!
Im sure you can find some people who can properly raid as alliance players also have achivements from raids wich shows that there are people who can. And to be honest if the truth hurts you that it is viable and you not forced then tough break cause the truth is no1 did force you to play horde. And yes i have a clue as some old friends to me plays alliance only that i never played with them on alliance so yes i can tell you its viable you on the other hand cannot tell me as a horde player you where forced to play with horde players
Actually, girls give a lot of attention to aesthetics in game as their standards of having fun are much higher than those of guys (no offence to the guys ofc, this is a chemical reaction result in the brain of the two genders). As a result, if blood elves were the only best looking race in the game for so many years, eventually a lot of players would feel compelled to go play it, even if it’s on the opposing faction. I play Alliance 90% of the time myself but still got 2-3 Blood elves. Now, I am not playing Horde because I like the Horde, but because Blood elves are in it. No offence to hordies, I’m just alot more into the Alliance theme and want to play the ‘‘good guy’’
The ratio is 10 to 1 favoring Horde. I mean, if I were to pick a guild then why should I pick the faction that has 10 times less offers?
I don’t know if I’m being clearly understood, but I had put a lot of faith in the Alliance being a viable faction. But it’s so damn hard and after my 3rd bfa guild disbanded that mine eyes have seen the truth and were open : the Horde IS the superior faction regarding PvE, therefore, I should become myself a red player.
I can say “Every single friend in my FL moved Horde”.
You don’t have a clue then.
Of course, alliance is viable if you don’t intend to play Pve content.
5 errors detected. Sorry, you were saying I did not know my own language or something like that?
You referred to them as ‘he’ after they had corrected you and said they were in fact a ‘she’, is what I referred to. Am I blind or challenged ‘with reading word’ (sic)? Not at all, I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
You wanted a capital ‘B’ at the start of that statement, an apostrophe in ‘im’, also you meant ‘exact’ not ‘exacts’. Exacts -is- a word, but does not make sense in that context.
Also, who says ‘normal people’ have to read English? I’m reasonably certain that there are a lot of languages people can have as their native tongue, and that they too, are also ‘normal’. The only reason I am pointing out your errors is because you keep implying that I cannot express myself in my own.
You really can’t help yourself, can you? So another insult there, in calling me ‘slow minded’, keep going, I am sure we will get more comedy gold dust from you…
That is a fairly creepy opening statement to a sentence, what were you expecting? a Selfie?
Now, whilst it is not common parlance these days, technically if we are using correct English, you actually can. Going back hundreds of years ‘Man’ was actually the correct word for ‘A Human person’, in fact about a thousand years back. It meant the same as the word ‘Man’ still does in German, as in ‘One’ as in ‘One can catch the bus from here’, the actual correct word for a Male Man is ‘Wer’ (From which we get Werewolf and Wergild) and for a Female Man is ‘Wyf’ (from which we get Wife and Midwife). ‘Man’ just meant a human person, in much the same way as a Sheep is a Sheep, but a male Sheep is called a Ram, and a female Sheep is called a Ewe.
That is semantics in fairness, I never said that, I said that both a boy and a grown adult male are both classed as ‘He’.
I think we established that a long time ago…
There we go, Insult number two. Poorly grammatically delivered, but an insult nonetheless.
And number three! This time with angry capitals. You really need to work on your internet etiquette, you can’t just keep insulting people like that without mockery or repercussions.
Are you sure you don’t want to re-examine that statement to make it fit context?
Ah, your statement there, is what we call in English, “A Lie”.
We’re on a roll, how many more personal insults can you throw in, in just the one post?
Oof! Yet another one! You really are thirsty for some time on the ‘Naughty Step’ aren’t you?
Actually, I have remained civil and within the CoC, if somewhat scathing and acerbic, you however have repeatedly descended into personal insults and slights.
We’ll let Blizzard judge which of us is behaving inappropriately.
Thinking that Void elves, in the way they were released and the delay in giving them anything of a High elf setting apart from the High elf model, would help balance the faction imbalance, is plain naive. Void elves were released as blueberry elves with very little lore, and many people did not like that. Especially not the tentacles, many people find them disgusting? The only thing they got was warm skin tones and blue eyes recently. Ofcourse that will not fix the imbalance at all because a much better choice is still available on the Horde.
If they want to see the slightest change in numbers between the factions they can start by giving some natural hairstyles and haircolours to Void elves, since it’s now probably too late to be adding separate High elves, so might as well make Void elves capable of looking like high elves. Ofcourse the hairstyles and haircolours can be borrowed from races different to Blood elves, such as Kul’tirans, dwarves etc.
Then, there is the lore issue and the capitals issue. Void elves and Night elves no longer have a proper home. Night elves are homeless refugees in Stormwind, and Void elves have some tents in Telogrus, which really looks very limited. However, if Telogrus rift was to be expanded into a proper starter questing area, with shining void paths, dark void, shiny trees, and a capital inspired by both void elves and high elves to have dark blue and gold decor in it, as well as purple crystal decor, would make Void elves so much more appealing. And the restrictions for Allied races should be removed imo, as Blood elves are available for new players to choose right away, while void elves are still gated behind content.
As stated, Night elves are homeless at the moment. They a pride civilization and should rebuild from scratch. It has been said they are beginning to rebuild in Mount Hyjal. Great. Mount Hyjal is a beautiful area and could be expanded to include a Night elf capital and a questing area for Night elves. With crystal clear lakes, swans, new modeled tigers available in the capital, temples of Elune, houses etc. Tigers are super popular but their models are dating back to Vanilla.
Now that customization for humans is practically complete, they should focus on reworking their character models. Ofcourse they will not be popular enough if they are just stuck with Vanilla models that look bulky (male human shoulders and arms) and have chunky thighs (hello female humans). Also, their running animations also need an update, females run like they have weed themselves lol. Check the humans available in character creation in Blade & Soul and Black Dessert, and then come tell me that our humans models look cool or pleasing to the eye in comparison.
Dwarves received GREAT customization, but again no updates to animations. Female running and casting animations are as bad as humans’, even worse. Dating back to Vanilla. Same issue with Night elves, animations dating back to Vanilla and male Nelves look like they are having a headache when they cast.
If all these things happened to better the Alliance ofcourse a lot more new players would be attracted, some casuals and semi-hardcores would probably switch over, and if free factions changes became available for a limited time at least, some hardcore guilds would consider it. Our racials have been fine for a long time, those are no longer the issue. Coolness and costs are the issues.
Why is it very little lore? There’s an origin story that explains how the Blood Elf exiles come to be Void Elves that perfectly transitions into them being part of the Alliance. How’s that not sufficient? What exactly is missing there?
What would a satisfying amount of lore be if not the above? I mean, between the Orcs and their long backstory on Draenor, and the Goblins luckily being saved by Thrall after their island exploded, it’s not like there’s a defined standard here.
To me there just has to be a story narrative that goes through – step by step – how you end up playing the race for the faction you’re part of. And I’d say the Void Elves have just as good an introduction story as the Goblin or Worgen or Orcs or Nightborne or Vulpera.
I would rather see us try to rebuild in Feralas, leave Hyjal, Stonetalon and Desolace to the Circle, and leave the Alliance, it’s not interested in the laments of the survivors.
Quest wise a campaign to throw the Ogres out of Eldre’Thalas and build a new city there would be interesting, and it’s one of the few zones that has ever felt like home to me.
Void elves do get a scenario explaining the lore, that is true, but how do you expect them to become popular if the only thing we know about their connection to the Void is that they just participated in an experiment which affected them. We have no idea what the experiment was, if there are any plans to locate and utilise possibly other corrupted creatures of the Void, etc. The largest issue I think is the lack of utilisation of Telogrus Rift. An amazing place with so much potential, which however is very much unfinished. It could serve as a source to boost the Void elf lore more.
After Humans and Night Elves they’re the third most popular Alliance race, by a fair margin.
More always wants more, but it strikes me as misplaced to point to the third most popular Alliance race – and the most popular Alliance Allied Race – as an example of a design that wasn’t executed properly.
But that’s not an issue. That’s opportunity. The game is in constant development, so areas that are not yet realized in the game to their fullest extent are simply opportunities for future additions to the game. That’s a good thing.
It is a good thing if a player goes: “Uuh, this is cool! I wonder if Blizzard can do more with this…”
Because then Blizzard can go: “People think this is cool! I wonder if we should do more with this…”
Restore Gilneas. Make it a fully fledged capital city, create a patch around it.
Give Allys their god damn high elves, everyone seem to be asking for it.
Giving humans emfh back is very good to entice PvP players to come back. Another thing that I think would make more people consider rolling ally would be… And I know that could be controversial: remove mercenary mode. It’d give a clear advantage to the Alliance, faster BG queues, and I know plenty of premade players like fast queues.
More interesting top X rewards per faction each tier raid. Would maybe breathe some life back into the Alliance PvE scene.
Honestly at this point it seems too far gone to go back to how it was.
