What would make the alliance more popular?

As a raider, I have no choice. Most of people who sticked on Alliance side are complaining about “compromises”, ie recruiting people that are actually incapable of properly raiding.

I have to say it annoys me to see Horde mains telling me Alliance is viable. You basically have no clue about what’s going on Alliance side, therefore, you can’ tell me Alliance is viable faction for raiding since I and many players experienced the exact opposite.

O.O

Respect…

I’ll be honest, the first fifty pages I was struggling, then I was like “Wait, this dude is such a party animal he has a bear in a cape at his house party!” Then someone goes out a window, and before you know it, Napoleon invades Russia and it all goes very ‘War’ then a brief bit of piece, then horrible grim War, and you’re like “Tolstoy, can you stop killing off characters I just started to like!” and everyone ends up unhappy (Because it is Russian literature, of course they do) and you go “That was horrible! Brilliant, but Horrible!”

It actually really is a good novel.

And I also want to go to a House Party where someone brings a Bear in a Cape along and gets it drunk.

Actually, I’d settle for -any- type of House Party these days…

I think it needs to be more around the top guilds leading from the front. How many people go Horde because that’s where their favourite streamer or doing ‘x content’ is easier because of the faction racial perception.

People go by what they think is good and if World First guilds suddenly go Alliance then guilds who want to aspire to be that level will also follow.

Yes there is the MDI Nelf Shadowmeld meta however Raiding is perceived as the hardest content and if this is dominated by the same players who main Horde for this content then that is where the player base will go primarily.

I just switched Alliance and so far I’m loving it.

PvE does seem to be slower than the Horde side but I mainly do PvP and I feel like there’s a healthy PvP community here. So far I’m having a blast!

Oh and Night Elves are lovely, especially with the new customizations :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s a couple of things that needs to be straightened out first.

A) This is the hardest part. Is there a way to tell the Horde Fake Elitist Players, that the Alliance Racials actually are equally balanced in so many different ways. Na not currently, since simming became a thing. Since WF became a thing. Since Streamer influence became a thing.

B) Blizzard, needs to focus even more on Guild development. There’s a f*** ton more to do there.
Guild Halls, Guild Challenges, Guild Recruitment must get better, the current system we have is still sht, no one uses it.

Once point A) has been fixed moving into B) being fixed. = Bigger Active Guilds.

C) This is when Blizzard, gives 2 Free Faction Changes, 2 Free Realm Changes + Free Guild Transfer. To everyone.
Economical loss, potentially yes.

But all this will do in the end, is to balance things out and actually make Alliance a thing to come back for again.

Streamers are full of crap, most of them. Their only interest is to stir drama and drag attention because that’s what sells. They’re like the wind, they will change their views whenever the trend changes. Right now “Horde is MVP” is the trend.

For what it’s worth, racials on Alliance are amazing.
Take my Night Elf for example:

  • Shadowmeld (self explanatory)
  • Elusiveness (speed while stealth increased by 5%)
  • Quickness (Increase chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks by 2% and your movement speed by 2%)
  • Touch of Elune (Increases haste by 1% during day and crit by 1% during night)

This, to me, is the best race for rogues in the entire game. I mean nothing on the Horde side gets even close to this. And it’s not the only OP race.

Kultirans, mechagnomes, iron dwarfs are just terrible new races  from visual point of view. Horde races are alot better.

But main reason ofc is that horde already has alot bigger endgame playerbase. Nothing will suddenly change it, unless something very radical is implemented, like free sub for ally etc

I tell you what I think will change it without such radical measures.

They need to release a raid with mechanics heavily in favor of the Alliance, forcing many elitist PvErs to roll Alliance for the racial advantage. Add to that free Alliance transfer and you can solve the issue in only one patch.

Thats a very unfair move towards competitive PVE raiders and will do more harm, than actual problem solving.

How is it unfair if the transfer is free? If they want to stay competitive let them reroll. They got nothing to lose, only win.

It will be enough to make some top guilds switch which is what we want yes?

Once top guilds start moving, a lot of regular people will go back to Alliance.

I don’t think they can solve this issue without giving the Alliance a major advantage for a short time.

They won’t do it.

Castle Nathria was favouring alliance on a few bosses with the bleeds, and at the last minute blizzard change Stoneform to not remove them.

They don’t have the balls to make that kind of play if they won’t even let it stick for 1-2 bosses within a raid, and offering a kinda “okay, kinda good” advantage at best. It certainly wasn’t on the same level as rocket jump on KJ for example.

Loads of alliance were excited about CN because it may have been the one raid and WFR where people may actually choose to favour running alliance and then the nerf news hit and all that was smashed “back to horde” business.

They have to, it will fix the Alliance PvE which is the only issue really. PvP seems really healthy from what I can see, it’s just they need some big guilds rolling Alliance to create a reverse snowball effect.

The promised customisation options, not just skin shades or eye colors for humans.

See Last wish - Nightborne customization
Top 12 is 4 alliance and 8 horde.

It is certain bias because the variations are including all eye colors/skin colors but you should have the idea of the class options after spending 10min in character creator.

They wont though, as CN showed us. It became clear alliance had an advantage in the raid and they changed it.

I’m not saying this is the principle reason for the change, im saying the devs cannot be ignorant of the disparity, and ignorant of the fact that with the bleeds on stoneform it was alliance favouring and then go ahead and nerf it whilst feigning ignorance.

It just shows they’re not prepared to create “imbalance” between factions to that degree anymore. Even if it would work, they will not do it. For every horde (like you) whom seems to believe there is a need for alliance to walk upright in pve, there are 25 foaming at the mouth horde fanboys who will cry at the first instance of such even though it doesn’t effect them or their progress at all.

Therefore they will not do it.

In PvP there is no issue, the “alliance suck at PvE” is an old wive’s tale. It’s about the same. I was in a BG just the other day where we were losing IoC and lost docks and we staged quite possibly the best defence of the keep i’ve ever seen and managed to give the horde a thrashing and kill all their reinforcements without them getting inside. We went from being about 60 reinforcements down to winning about 140 up.

Alliance has a fault in this also. Play Horde if you like but don’t stop fighting. I am doing my best to be loud on these forums, more than many Alliance players.

Let your voices be heard. The only way to get what you want is to be loud.

There’s no harm in continuing the fight even if you temporarily play Horde to get geared, really.

Forums, streams, Youtube, these are the platforms that you have on your hands, DON’T STOP>

I play both factions but alliance is typically my main one. Personally the PvE disparity has never bothered me (I don’t play PvE at the level high enough for it to matter) nonetheless I will always be an advocate of trying to push the message that it can be done and “jumping ship” by way of swapping mains is probably the worst step to take as it simply compounds the issue.

I recently rerolled Alliance even though my main is quite geared on the Horde side but because I also don’t raid past normal/heroic difficulty, it doesn’t matter.

So far my I had a great experience with the community and I don’t see where Alliance is “immature and spoiled”. I had a fair share of idiots on the Horde side.

Alliance players are more patient and forgiving to mistakes, which means that overall they ARE mature and friendly.

Honestly, it’s a fresh breath of air from all the annoying wannabes on the Horde side.

I tried and it back fired. I was told I was a whiner when I said things like : “This is not healthy, I want Alliance to thrive”. Since I rather act than wait for an external help, I made the choice to renounce playing Alliance.

I understand you and all the other rerollers that simply wanted to play in decent conditions.

My point was just because you rolled Horde doesn’t mean you have to stop voicing your opinions and asking for a fix.

The fact that you’re playing Horde now doesn’t mean that the Alliance is done and over. This community has proven many times that things GET FIXED if there’s enough voices raising concerns.

And who cares about haters really? Let them call you whiner. So f what? Everybody whines about something. Whoever whines better wins in this game :stuck_out_tongue:

Those of you that still play Alliance, start streaming! If you’re a good PvPer, PvEer, show off. These kids care about influencers, that’s who they listen to. If you tell them Alliance is awesome, they will believe it.
