What would you change in PvP

As title says. About class design, system, gearing,match making, brackets . What’s the objectively ideal scenario of balance?

More specs/subspecs that heal via damage like FW or disc.

We need to attract dps players with gameplay they actally like. This would drive down queue times, more people would understand what healers need their team to do ect ect ect

I would significantly prune CC. I like CC existing as a means of setting up kill windows but i hate the trend we´ve seen expanded upon in DF where you just ape press that instant CC, oftentimes aoe whenever it comes off CD ( yes, i do this too )

I have no issues with casted CC since it forces people to commit to actually landing said CC n also gives people a chance to stop it. It also generally stops the class from doing damage during this setup window. Say a warlock starts casting fear, i can los it, interrupt it, get it dispelled n a ton of other things. getting slammed by a random DK blind that doesnt break from damage straight into a random shockwave into some other instant crap is infuriating.
Teamfighting in say Blitz i spend more time in CC than i do playing the game.

Some instant CC can certainly exist but i would force more choicenodes than already exist. Stormbolt/shockwave, coil/shadowfury/howl of terror, ( yes i know shadowfury isnt instant ) aspyxiate/strangulate/blinding sleet etc.

I would go through each class n force choicenodes for CC as a first step. If this cant be done due to the need for micro CC in PvE i would simply go another route n add PvP effect multipliers to a ton of spells that are currently micro CC n change their effect.

Shockwave against players for example could be an aoe slow or some crap like that.
Blinding sleet could be the same.

Somewhat unrelated to the previous parts but i would also manually delete the file n every trail of the file existing that allows WW monks to turns me into a helicopter every 3rd global.

That happen per accident or rotation like frost mage root or Dk where everythink is slowed
Insta CC need a cut on range like SAP from rogue why can he hit one on the head from 15y ?
It should at last be a active choice too CC

And i would work on meele range balance
Disarm for shadow or stuff that meeles can do somethink about frostmage

Work on a standart UI that shows clean stuff you need too see without addons or weakauras (dr’s)

As a low-experienced player, I’m gonna say something controversial but: prune Arenas overall and focus more on objective-based content like (but doesn’t have to be exactly it) Blitz.

It’s been quite clear that balancing remains a pain point due to a handful of over-performing specs, or otherwise negative design choices for others. This never seems to reach a point where we can say: this is as optimal as it can get and it keeps shifting every season or major patch.

This problem is enhanced by the will of players to reroll to the better performing specs.

We’re stuck in a hamster-wheel.

Juts give up, forget it existed, and try to focus on making more group-like objective-based content which is decently accessible, playable, and somewhat balanced (should be easier than trying to balance 2v2 and 3v3 and 8v8.

Also, stop making new classes. Just stop. No more, enough is enough.

Giving spriest disarm is adding CC, not pruning it. Spriest has an absolute ton of CC already in their kit, i´d reduce their CC aswell.

I suppose i´d be fine giving spriest a disarm, but it would be an option that would cause you to lose something else. Choicenodes isnt an issue to me but the overall total amont of CC needs to decrease, not increase.

With reduced micro CC spriest quality of life would improve aswell. Spriest was never able of kiting melees, it always played around fakecasting n performing very well while under preasure.

I´d consider looking into pruning mobility aswell as CC but i think that would be difficult without a major overhaul to every classes toolkit n i just dont find it reasonable to do at this point so id rather focus on reasonable solutions.

We´re not going back to one grip, one warrior charge etc. I dont even think that would be a good solution anymore to anything but atleast stop adding more mobility.

Make all CC DR so we don’t get this BS of being unable to play for 15+ seconds or make precog activate when you’ve had people use several CCs on you to stop you from casting instead of interrupting.

You should HAVE TO INTERRUPT to stop casts.

Lower the amount of cc, burst and healing, it feels like a bloody arms race between those two, it is either: OMG HEALERS AREN’T DYING, or healers going: OMG I CANT PLAY THE GAME DUE TO CC.

It’s annoying…

Far lower damage overall. Like 70-80% lower.
Lower healing output
Deletion of mini-CCs and automatically applying roots and snares.
Pruning of stuns and the introduction of PvE talents, similar to PvP talents, if pruning CC’s and stuns hurts M+
Fully separate arenas and open field PvP.
Return of customizable templates/reforging.
A dedicated PvP dev team.

Less broken slow backed in Dmg Rotation

give enhancement shaman Mortal Strike/ Ret too

Aoe dmg spells nerfed by 80% in pvp situations

increasing the duration of long cc´s except cyclone, removing 1-2 micro cc´s per class

removing ai trees from Resto druids, but buffing regrowth

nerfing the mobility of mages, and gap closers on meeles

add some indicator of important cds so I dont have to install third party addons that stop working after every second match.

Also reduce the visual mess. For example Unholy DK or demo lock with all the pets and stuff… I know its cool but we should be able to identify actual target easier.

I would like to play the game also so reduction of CCs for sure.
Burst somebody in one global is also not ok imo.

Very smart suggestion, nerf all damage of dh by 80% basically.

i would make warrior only able to be human male, and I would change every sound effect warriors have to be the human male aggro sound from vanilla.

i would also increase the volume of this sound effect based on how hard you were hit / damage taken. so if you’ve had a warrior sitting on you as a spriest for example for the past 3 minutes, the sound effect would be so overpowering you’d not be able to hear anything else.

HRNGHH!

oh and i’d remove frostbite, chains of ice and crippling poison from the game.

I’d rather delete pvp from this game. Blizzard failed every esport on purpose
Blitz is complete joke, nobody wanted that except bg players who log this game once a half of a year
Even soloshuffle nobody wants to play and blizzard, once again, on purpose hard capped mmr on 2.1k making people quit the game. I’m sure later they’ll remove shuffle saying that not what we wanted and players were wrong

You cant tell what most players want or not. If your 2 mates and you have same opinion its fine.
90% of forum dwellers are negative and this place is more like crying pillow.
Happy players playing game, no time to cry.
SS and blitzz is fine, just how blizzard delivered it, could be better.

Look at statistic, blitz is much less played that shuffle and top players are 2.9 mmr in blitz
Shuffle is same names in top rating over and over again, every season. Even I face in 2.6+ range in mid season same names all season, this is dead game and it’s since shadowlands s3-s4

No one cares about your 3v3 and 2v2, thats what killed pvp in wow.

Pvp with healers is worst format i’ve ever seen in any game. Arena was a mistake since its beginning in tbc.
